Perfect ND for the Phantom 4

Jul 26, 2017

Its difficult to decide which ND to pick, so I got this ND8 and for me it is just right for my Phantom 4Pro and sunny days. The video cameras sweet spot for the ISO is 400 and is too sensitive in bright sunlight. Too small an aperature f stop can result in lens diffraction softening. Too fast a shutter speed some issues too. So add this ND and you can get the right settings in bright sunny days I shoot at UHD40 60fps, around 1/240th shutter, ISO ... Show More

Neutral Dencity #16

Mar 5, 2017

This filter is perfect for super bright condition like snow or beach on sunny days. It's the perfect accompliment to DJI's ND 8 if you looking for shallower depth-of-field or just when things get too bright. it's sharp and virtually no, if any, color shift to the image, plus you may never want to remove it, as it is exactly the same size and look as the UV filter that comes with the camera. The only con is that I'd doesn't have a case, nor is the filter labeled with its density value, this could be a problem if you own all 3, but A+ for DJI for overall quality and fit.

Nice ND filter for DJI Phantom 4 Pro Plus

Jul 5, 2017

Really nice ND filter to use in bright lighting conditions. We use the copter to inspect farm crops and the ND filter cuts the light and allows a much sharper image on the P4P+ quadcopter. This one is so good I ordered the DJI ND16 filter which will assist better getting 1/60 sec shutter speed which is needed for smooth video. Major negative: DJI filters have no label, bsolutely no reason for this omission. We should not have to label an expensive filter with a marker. I was generous by lowering the rating only one star - it is that bad.

Decent filter, but no box or case

Feb 4, 2017

The DJI ND filter is decent quality, similar to the clear UV filer that comes on the Phantom 4 Pro. But, there is no way to store and transport it! I also ordered the PolarPro polarizer filters. They came with a nice padded snap close case that stows nicely in my drone pack. Whenever you order any filter for an SLR, you usually always get at least plastic padded slide/tray case to keep it in. Really no reason DJI could not give a simple case to keep these little filters from getting scratched. Instead, I had to make one of my own.

Works but does not include case nor labeling.

Overall the filter is good quality. It gets the job done. Just disappointed that it does not come with any type of storage (even a cheap plastic would work). Also I ordered the ND 16 & ND 8 filter. Neither have an indicator of which one is which. I have to hold them up to the light each time to figure out which filter is slightly darker/lighter. Guess I'll just have to break out a Sharpie to label myself. Typically this wouldn't be a big deal, but these filters are expensive compared to others. They should have the basic things.

Buy something else

Sep 25, 2019

I bought all three of the DJI ND filters about 2.5 years ago. I have to say they're very very fragile filters, and they're not very robust for frequent use. I have probably only flown a couple dozen times and two of the three filters have cracked, and the original UV filter fell apart. It's literally impossible to clean them without them breaking or falling apart. For $33 these aren't worth it. Buy another brand.

Yes, good product. I would buy it again.

This ND8 filter is a must-have. The drone's camera does not stop down below F11. You can take stills with it without the filter, but not videos unless the shutter speed is set way too fast for videos. With a bright sky, this is a necessity. I leave it on all the time, it enhances the color and contrast. Remember to unscrew the clear filter off the camera first before putting it on.

Nice filter

Jul 18, 2017

Great filter that fits perfectly. I am downgrading to three stars for the inexcusable lack of marking to indicate which filter. DJI, Is it so difficult and/or expensive to put a 16 or an 8, etc. on the filters? Users should be able to glance at the filter and know exactly which number without having to take them and look at the sky to determine the level of light reducing ability.

Yes, i would buy it again, but only if I loose this one!

This ND4 filter is good. I use the ND8 filter on the DJI Phantom 4 for sunny days, and the ND4 filter for cloudy days. It boosts the contrast, helps to keep highlights from being washed out, and helps to keep the frame rate lower when recording videos. Remember to unscrew the clear filter that's already on the camera first, before trying to install the ND.

Neutral Density #8

Mar 5, 2017

This may be the only filter you'll need for your Phantom 4 Pro, it provides enough reduction of light for most sunny conditions. It's sharp and with very little, if any, color shift to the image, it's the perfect accressory and you almost never need to remove it since it's exactly the same as the UV filter that came with the camera. A+ for DJI.

Get you shutter down where it needs to be

Jul 16, 2017

I use this neutral density filter to get my shutter speed down to 60 or 40 frames per second. I shoot farms and ranches in bright sunlight usually and I needed to get rid of the herky jerky on shots close to the ground. ND 8 was just right. I think the ND16 would be too dark.

Strong green cast

Mar 29, 2017

On a bright, sunny day in Colorado, this gives me f11 at 1/60th shutter in D-Log (ISO 500). There is a strong green cast that's difficult to remove in post. I haven't tested any other filters for the phantom 4, so I'm not sure if there are better options out there.

Great filter!

Nov 21, 2017

A must have for bright outdoor video when trying to keep shutter speed at 1/50 or 1/60. The old one was hard to get off until I found a trick on Youtube. Just wrap a rubber band around it and turn with out squeezing the lens too much. Works great!

Perfect for sunny days!

Aug 7, 2017

Absolute must have for sunny days. Sunglasses for your drone! GREATLY improves the quality of the video, with deeper color saturation! This ND8 and the original (ND0?) filter are the only two you need.

Broke While Cleaning

Sep 4, 2018

Nothing wrong with the optics. But, it broke while wiping it clean. Seems like they could make a product with glass that doesn't break so easily. Glass is near paper thin. So be careful when cleaning.

The Perfect P4Pro ND8

Feb 3, 2017

Great ND for the Phantom 4 Pro. Same size as the stock lens so gimbal clamp still fits. Color seems to be neutral as it should so I'm not noticing any strange color shift toward blue or yellow.

DONT BUY THIS FILTER

Oct 31, 2017

It sucked, the glass broke before I put it on my drone. I wiped it with a micro fiber cloth and it broke basically as soon as I touched it, like shattered. DONT BUY IT

Sep 25, 2019

These DJI filters are paper thin and lightly glued in place. They either break or fall apart when you try and clean them. Buy a different brand!

Perfect - replaces the lens cover on the camera from factory so you've got something to protect the camera and darken things up a bit.
