Good accessory monitor
I use it in portrait mode to have my social networks or continuous open mail, the image is good in quality and with this size; it does not take up almost space but it is enough to read without problem, good price

As described, got it for the portrait orientation
Requires a pretty good graphics card to support this as a 2nd monitor, had to update the drivers of my GTX 960. In the orientation shown, the pixel density is less than my other monitor so things get slightly taller when moved to the 2nd screen and the color is not a warm as my old samsung (even under the warmest preset), so that took some adjusting to as well.

Seems to be Great
I bought and use this monitor as a 2nd monitor in a vertical position when editing photos. Very nice and consistent color. It works well for my purpose.

Very Good + Fix of Potential Washed-out Appearance
I bought this monitor for my home office to use along with my laptops in extended mode. Very Good - Computer Settings Important to Fix Wash-out
B&H is the place to go to get a great selection with excellent prices, good service and fast shipping. I honed in on this model for my home office compared to similar ones from Dell. I avoided silly features such as speakers and phone chargers, something a monitor is not for in my opinion. I became concerned when I noticed the monitor appeared washed-out. just what the doctor ordered
Looks great. The overall size works for me. The extra USB ports are a nice useful feature and very functional. I have my backup drives plugged into the screen. Viewing for photo retouching is superb. Calibrated the screen with my Spyder5 Express by Datacolor and the images are very close to the output on my Canon Pixma Pro 100. The images where printed on Canon Photo Paper Pro Lustre. A great monitor for people without deep pockets. This is connected to a Mac Book Pro.

Washed out colors, otherwise OK.
The set up was easy and the screen does reduce my eye strain. But the colors appear washed out and not true color - Ok, but not bright. I decided to keep the monitor and have gotten used to the colors.

I may get another one
I use this monitor as part of a three display (laptop and 2 large desktop displays) combo. A 10 year old megabuck 24 Dell monitor died, so I bought this one. It is next to the still surviving 24 companion Dell monitor and the difference in screen sharpness is very apparent - this one is fabulous. It doesn't quite have as much real estate as my old one (noticeably narrower top to bottom) but the tradeoff is worth it. Comes with three separate cables, so it had one which would connect to a spare port on my Toshiba docking station without having to scrounge around for something.

Was exactly what I was looking for.
It came in just two days. I did not realize that I did not have an HTML output on my computer so I had to install an extra card. I use it for programming in the portrait mode.

Solid monitor at good price
The Dell P2417H is a solid monitor. I already had one of these and bought another one to complete the dual monitor set-up. The height adjustability is huge for me since my home/office set-up is a sit/stand desk. Being able to adjust the height is a big deal to me and has proven to be helpful.
