First one faulty, but replacement seems OK
The first one worked after a fashion except that the remote control had no effect. After consulting Panasonic's technical support they said that either the remote was failing to send a signal or that the sound box was not receiving infra-red and I should return it to the retailer. Unfortunately with Argos if you buy something with Nectar points you can not get a refund, only a gift card which is not acceptable, therefore had to get a direct replacement.

Rattles the furniture!
Great alternative to a sound bar for our 32" tv. TV fits on it nicely. Pretty easy to connect NB no leads supplied apart from power. Needed additional HDMI lead to TV for DVD feed. Default subwoofer and volume settings really rattle the furniture on music or explosive drama scenes but easy to reduce. Can control volume and mute from Panasonic TV remote. Impressive sound stage and dialog really comes out to you which was main reason for purchase.

Nice piece of kit !!!
Having read as many reviews as I could find online about 100's of differing models in many price range, my purchase list came down to this one........ I really believe my choice was excellent all around.......Compared to the previous sound that I have "sufferued" coming out of my 6 month old Panasonic 42" led smart TV my faith in Panasonic has been restored...The choice of quality sound is now incredible and I can't think why I waited so long ! ....

Adds presence for little cost
Our Panasonic TV has a fantastic picture, but the sound always seemed lacking. Add-on soundbars use an optical connection (at additional cost) but this Panasonic Soundstage used the HDMI-ARC socket on the TV to control the volume, so no extra remote needed once set up. One £-shop HDMI cable later, all was plugged in and menu settings on TV and Soundstage sorted, we sat back to enjoy cinema-quality sound within 15 minutes of opening the box.

Panasonic SCHTE120W soundbase with built in sub.
I was desperate to find a sound bar with a built in sub but also the dimensions had to fit those of a shelf below the T/V which already a You View box and dvd player. The Panasonic fitted exactly and all 3 were below T/V screen. After plugging into power and via HMDI cable, set up was easy. The improvement, particularly , for dialogue, is impressive and even my wife, who does not easily embrace technology, says it was a worthwhile purchase.

great sounding sound base.
After researching soundbases, as i have an adult autistic son who struggles to hear dialogue on a tv or a sound bar, i came across this one. Its a great size( fits fine under my tv), so easy to set up with one hdmi cable to my arc socket on the tv, minimum set up with tv (just make sure its on the tv setting). Best of all it has settings to turn up the dialogue. Hurrah now my son can hear talking clearly without turning it up really loud.

Good Features, But....!
This unit is easy to set up and to customise. When used with HDMI ARC this works seamlessly & flawlessly with your TV remote, adjusting the volume, switching on & off with the TV. The minus point for me is the actual sound. It is too bassy, even with the bass setting on 1. Unfortunately, there is no way to turn it off completely! In fairness, the sound is better than the TV's own speakers, but unless you like a LOT of bass, avoid.

Excellent Buy
This Sound-stage is brilliant, connected with the HDMI(ARC) so able to control both the sound and TV from my TV remote. The sound is excellent with voice and effects being great using the factory defaults. The volume is brilliant and as such I have no complaints. I have both my DVD and TV on top of the unit, they come to a grand 6kg only, so well below the recommended 30kg max.Excellent purchase for the bedroom. Well pleased!!

What a little big sound box
What a great all in one sound box. fabulous sound with no need for a stand alone sub woofer. It’s a neat design and quite big but does fit in my media unit. Controllable bass, treble and voice options so you can adapt it to your own preference. Turn bass right down for example. Also has sound modes to choose from and has a big wholesome sound. It’s actually better than my 2.1 Samsung sound bar. I’m very impressed.

Excellent Home Theatre System
Originally bought a Sound Bar but was disappointed with the sound & design, so decided on a Sound Base. Easy to set up, I used an optical lead direct from my Sky Box, there are other connections (depends on your TV). Surprisingly good bass (which can be loud), various settings you can adjust. Plus the added bonus of Bluetooth, my iPod linked easy and again the sound is excellent. I'd happily recommend this product!

Good soundbase
A soundbase/stage is an ideal platform to stand your tv on (upto 42") you do not notice it, where a bar would have to sit either behind, screening the remote operation, or in front, making it look untidy... or attach to a wall! Sound quality is very good, with Dolby, being able to adjust base and treble(voice) and different settings, stadium, news, cinema etc I would recommend a sound base/Stage..

Good value for money
First time I've ever bought a soundbar, so difficult to compare with other products. For the price, I'm perfectly happy. Set up very easy, once I realised the T.V had to be set to send sound to the bar rather than the T.V speakers. We had to place the bar behind the T.V to prevent it blocking the T.V remote sensor, but the sound is still greatly improved over that provided by the T.V speakers.

A good, compact sound base
I used an optical cable to the television as this is the simplest solution and avoids any issues with HDMI ARC. The sound is clear without excessive bass. Note that it is best to use a television with a flat plate base rather than legs as these may extend beyond the top of the sound base. Note that there is no 3.5mm socket for audio input. The sound is good from a fairly small enclosure.

Great for Technophobes
Purchased this box as my other soundbar cable had broken the optical input from my television, so sorting this out was easy, l put the hdmi cable from my youview+ box to the television, and connected the optical cable from you view box to soundbox, total time 5 minutes, no loss of sound sync and the mini hand controls very easy to use, and yes the sound is greatly improved, so can recommend.

Great Product
This really compliments my 50 inch Panasonic Plasma Tv. Before this addition the tv sound was mediocre as with most flat screens. This soundstage has changed the sound output tremendously, even better than the 5.1 setup I had before. My blueray player just connects via a HDMI cable, no connection to tv needed. The size is just perfect, much neater than a long soundbar. Well worth the price.

Panasonic sound bar
Bought this from Argos on there click and collect service which I find is excellent. Unfortunately this sound bar is much like others I have tried in that it looks good and is easy to set up. However to my ears the sound has to much base even when its turned down to the lowest level. That's not to say it might be a great sound bar for others, but not for me. So returned for a refund

Neat and compact way to improve tv sound
Wanted to improve on TV sound but didn't have space for a normal size sound bar. This unit is small enough to fit on my corner tv cabinet. I've no comparison to make with other soundbars, however the sound produced seems ok to me. It certainly is a significant improvement on the tv speakers. If you're looking for a neat and stylish soundbar then the Panasonic is to be recommended.

Quality sound base ....Panasonic
Excellent sound base that covers all our needs ie TV (via YouView box), AppleTV and Bluetooth (phones and iPads) May not have the perfect hi fi sound but it is extremely neat and provides very good sound quality for normal TV and all our music. We don't have an ARC HDMI slot so TV is effectively routed through the YouView box via Aux input. Very pleased with this purchase.

Neat compact product
Made a big improvement to my plasma tv sound where the sound now is via the front of the tv as opposed to the rear,I would recommend this product but if the plan is to place the tv-especially a 50inch plus screen- on top of the sound system,check the size of the tv's fixed stand, as it should not be bigger than the sound system,as per the manufacturers advice.

Excellent product for the price
I bought this soundboard to enhance the bass sound from our Samsung TV and this it certainly has done. I don't know if I would have paid the full price for it as there are others to consider but for the dicounted price it is excellent - especially when playing movies. Obviously it is not like the full surround sound systems but for what it is it is very good.

Souns really good
Sounds and looks really good has more bass than i thought it would.easy to bluetooth to phone and sound great especially playing dance music.looks good and is a lot smaller than a sound bar and has digital display on front so you know what volume level is.easy to use and is linked to my tv and blu ray player by one hdmi lead so dont forget to buy one.

At last I can hear my TV
I have been finding it increasingly difficult to understand softly spoken dialogue on my TV especially when combined with an American accent. Having connected this soundbar to my Panasonic TV with HDMI ARC facility I can now make out what people are saying at low volume and my TV remote switches the soundbar on and off along with the TV.

good purchase improved sound quality
Glad I bought this as much better sound coming from this than the 42inch TV speakers on its own without it. Easy to set up and easy instructions to and tv sits on top as well, can't fault it so far bought it 3 weeks now, good sound effects from built in subwoofer. Searched a lot online before making this purchase and I am happy with it.

BRILLIANT PIECE OF KIT
THE SOUND IS SUPERB.EASY TO SET UP.SPACE SAVING COMPARED TO FULL SOUNDBARS.IT'S LIGHT TO HANDLE AND REALLY SUPPORTS MY 32" PANASONIC TV. THE SOUND APPEARS TO COME FROM THE FRONT OF THE UNIT WHICH MAY HELP IF YOU HAVE LIP SYNC. PROBLEMS.IT IS ALSO A LOT EASIER TO CLEAN THAN A SOUNDBAR/WOOFER SET UP..I AM REALLY PLEASED WITH MY SOUNDBASE.
