Good
Great little hybrid camera for filmmakers. Sharp Hd and 4k footages and slow motions. Sold my Gh3 and got this camera. Love the new feature like zebra and focus peaking, cine gamma. This is the best Dslm 4k camera in its pruce point. Let me write its downside: Micro 4/3 sensor is performing weaki in lowlight, i really hope panasonic change the next Gh camera with Super35 sensor. Surely we can pay extra cash for better sensor. Dynamic range is als... Show More

The Mighty Mirrorless (Even without 4K)
I had been looking at several DSLR-type cameras for a few months and I had the oppurtunity to shoot some sample video with 2 or 3 of them but I was unable to get my hands on the GH4. I had never used a M4/3 sensor before and I had concerns on how shallow the depth of focus would be.I was originally planning to wait until Photokina 2014 was over and all of the new cameras were announced, namely 7D mkII. But then, I watched 2 camera reviews. One by... Show More

Amazing features!
This camera pack a massive array of features, 4k internal recording being the big one.Given that it has a micro 4/3s sensor, you will get noise, but mane gable unto iso 800.I use this camera for product videos, and the image quality is breathtaking, you could shoot at 4k and edit at 1080p and you have a medium shot and a close-up.The 10bit 4:2:2 over HDMI is another world, most people don't realize how bad 8 bit really is until you compare it to 10 bit.

Great Cam
It's the best video cam right now for this price (imo). 4K looks stunning, and down res'ing to 1080 is sharp. 96fps is really nice too. Shoot in the daylight and it looks rad.. Low light is still not great on this chip, but for bright shots this camera is a little ripper. Follow the light.

Amazing Camera
I am blown away. It is a great little camera. The quality is impeccable and super clean and easy to function. 4K is stunning! Easy to edit with latest Adobe Premier on MBP. 1080p renders looks fantastic! Need large HD TV to appreciate detail. Love the slow motion. Decent Bokeh with fast MFT lenses. Low light is plenty good too. 4K on an SD card = priceless. Everyone will be copying this camera soon. They are fools if they don't. Great job Panasonic!

Love this camera
My first official foray into the DSLR world! Coming from the more old-school ENG/camcorder form factor environment, making the DSLR transition is made sweeter by the attention Panasonic payed to the videographer with the GH4 and it's predecessors the GH2&3. It has many of the features any videographer needs to shoot video professionally and the cake is iced with the stunning cinema 4K quality images. Pair it with a quality professional audio adap... Casi perfecta
Amazing quality for a great price
Shooting 4k at an affordable price was my main draw to this camera. But after getting it, I can say that the ease of use is amazing and intuitive, the picture quality is perfect, and the mobility is a big plus. Adding other lenses is easy, just pick up adapters and you can put anything you want on it. Slow motion at 96fps is a must (full HD) and this camera has it. Can't say enough how much I recommend it.

Beautiful
I have not been able to play with my camera enough. There are many functions I still need to discover and use. But what I've done with it so far has been impressive. The photos and video have both turned out good. I'm still wanting to achieve a certain quality with both so I am still working on the settings for that perfect picture. But the camera seems very sturdy and durable. Like so many others who have given this 5 stars, I can now see why.

Good bye Canon
Hello I am David and I was a canon guy, until I meet lumix, honestly I though canon give good quality but I was wrong after I tryed Gh4i knew I can't keep longer with canon. Panasonic gh4 have time lapses,4k, better colors, better sharp, so for video is much better than my 5mark3 :) so I don't have any excuses to keep my canon gear the only thin I will keep is my lens I just bought an adaptor to use all my canon lenses :).. I hope one day canon stop to care about the money and they give more quality and better options to use the equipment.

Incredible Camera for Filmmaking
I bought this as a B-Camera for my Red Camera. While it is not a RAW video camera, the image quality coming from this camera cuts very nicely with footage shot on my RED. Great value, great portability.

An almost perfect camera!
I love the depth of features and options this camera offers! Great size and feel. My three critiques would be: 1. I would want a full 35mm equivalent sensor so it would eliminate crop factor. I know this would raise the price some, but that version would be amazing! 2. the swing out screen doesn't swing all the way out to be a perfect 180 deg. It rests slightly inward so if I have it mounted on a rig, I have to crain my neck slightly to view it square on. 3. I would like the selection wheel to be rubberized. The hard plastic just dosn't have a nice feel to it.

Beautiful Video
I purchased this camera primarily for shooting company promotional videos. So far, it hasn't disappointed. The battery life is about twice that of my old Canon and even at 1080, the shots look great. This camera loves light. Going mirrorless was definitely the way to go. The electronic viewfinder is extremely clear and the fold-out touch screen makes focusing in manual mode extremely easy. Thoughtful details like a built-in audio levels meter, ac... Show More

LUMIX not a LUMIX
After carefully reading about micro four thirds cameras my choice was the Lumix GH4 for its myriad of features, 4K cinema video capabilities, and a camera that helps guide you through the complexities of filming. It is primarily a film camera and it accomplishes that task beautifully. This is a camera you use and love to have.

Great camera
My first and immediate impression was that it doesn't look or feel like your typical dslr camera, but after a couple of weeks of playing around with it, I've grown to really appreciate the size and sturdy feel of the camera. I know most people may have second thoughts about the small sensor, but the 4k capability more than makes up for it, plus you have the option of picking up the metabones speedbooster, which really opens up the playing field. Great camera, I'm glad I picked it up!

Fantastic professional video features
Everything you've heard about this camera is true. The Panasonic GH4 is truly revolutionary in terms of professional video recording features packed into such an affordable and small package. I am a full-time freelance videographer, and like many others, I am in the process of moving away from using larger DSLR bodies and lenses in favor of a smaller, faster and more affordable mirror-less format. And to be honest, while 4K is great and really mak... Yes yes yes.
If you're looking at this camera, you know what you're going to get...and I guess if you don't, then buy it and be surprised. ONLY gripes: WiFi connectivity with my iphone makes me want to punch small, even adorable, things in the face. Sure, I eventually get it working as it should. But this is a compliment to my persistence and technical savvy...not the panasonic geniuses that decided this functionality was good enough. Also... If you're expect... Show More

GH4 w/ YAGH interface - Pretty Impressed
I'm a commercial videographer and filmmaker. I primarily use this project for situations when I want a more polish feel to the video. With the firmware update, the Variable Frame rate option is spectacular - 1/4 speed overcranking at Full HD for a camera of this class is pretty spectacular. Syncro-Scan was an awesome and impressive feature. The OLED monitor is a vast improvement of the previous systems. The build is sturdy and durable, and the di... Show More

GH4 Review
This camera has a ton of great features.1) 4K for under $. You can't beat that.2) 96 fps at 1080.3) Light and portable.4) Intuitive and easy to use.5) Great picture profiles and functions.6) Records to affordable SD cards. There are also some downfalls.1) Micro 4/3 sensor. Hard to use Canon lenses. Can't wait for the metabones speedbooster to come out for gh4.2) I wish there was a bit more dynamic range. Maybe the guys at Magic Lantern will get there hands on it.3) Rolling shutter is present. Not as bad as other DSLRs, but still noticeable.

Sold all my Canon gear
After 25 years of owning a retail studio and carrying big gear I closed my studio. One effect of shooting for so long is a case of tennis elbow. So I wanted to go lighter. And I love how light it is. The video, even just 1080p on MP4 is so much sharper than my Canon 5D Mark III. This produces great stills and I can shoot 2x3 or 16x9 or my new favorite - 4x3 ratio. The manual is not as good as Canon's - no index in the back.
