nice little drive
I bought this for my grand daughters laptop that had no optical drive, I connected it to my windows 10 HP laptop and it was automatically setup and worked great on a usb 2 connection

Perfect for occasional use
I bought this because I needed a drive to make up for the fact that Apple doesn't include them anymore. I have photos and documents stored on DVDs that I need to access once in a while, and this drive is great for that. Price is definitely right. It isn't a substantial piece of equipment by any means, but for what I need, it is perfect.

Disappointed
I am disappointed that I had to purchase addition software to burn my movie to a DVD and when I have a disk in the DVD player is have to unplug the player and replug to get my disc out. The eject on the keyboard does not work to eject the Disc.

Excellent Device
I have used this product to install software and programs onto my laptop, as well as play a DVD movie. It has performed perfectly in all of these applications so far! I did not have to download anything the drive was ready to go after I plugged it in. Very minimal setup. I am always a careful caretaker of my electronic units, so it likely will not be a problem for me but this model is very lightweight with a plastic exterior feel. It may be slightly delicate to some, but again, with appropriate usage and storage, I believe it will hold up very well over time.

Excellent Product for Price
I am very satisfied with this external DVD drive. Not only was I able to use it to download software and programs to my laptop, but I was also able to run a DVD movie - all without having to download any additional application. So far, it has not been noisy in operation, and setup is very fast. I currently do not require it for heavy use, but as it is, it is a very handy unit to have.

Picked a winner from many in B&H inventory.
I purchased this unit as a gift for my daughter who just bought a new 27 Apple iMac. I live in Wisconsin and she in Florida. When she received it she called me and we walked through how to use it. No problem it came with the right cable and it works as we had hoped.

Works great, only complaint is that it is VERY lightweight to the point that it slides across the desk every time I open it from the desktop.

Excellent Drive, but not 3.0 USB
Have no complaints, very easy set up, clear installation instruction and noise level is normal, nothing intolerable. My only complaint would be the misleading listing. It clearly states that it is a 3.0 USB, and I know it is definitely listed under 3.0 USB because that is exactly what I typed into the search bar, (3.0 USB DVD Drive). I noticed when nothing on the packaging nor user manual or other material stated 3.0 USB, so I went to LG's physical website to verify and it clearly states that the (LGSuper-Multi Portable DVD Rewriter with M-DISC - GP50NB40) runs on a 2.0 USB external interface.

It Does The Job
When you want to burn an AVCHD disc from Apple Compressor or FCPX SHARE you must have a DVD (not blu-ray) drive attached. Upgrading to a new IMac is driverless (boo) requiring an external drive. Needing a DVD only drive for AVCHD I chose this one because IT'S M-DISC COMPATIBLE, LG, and reasonably priced. I have not been disappointed. It works great.

Super Drive - Great Value
Great solution if your internal drive fails or your computer does not have one. Simple, easy to use. Plug it in and go to work. Cannot beat the price.
