Google Home Mini (1st generation) - Chalk
Great little item
I bought the larger Google home at Christmas and was so impressed I bough the Google mini for the bedroom. For something a lot smaller than the bigger version it still sounds really good especially if you are playing music. Very impressed with them both.

Brilliant piece of tech
Great little piece of new technology. Works fantastically well for playing music, setting alarms and timers, tuning to radio stations, linking to your phone book to make calls, linking to bluetooth devices - speakers etc., - playing quizes, telling the time, keeping you up to date with the news and weather, linking to other google home devices to play in groups and answering questions you pose. Still exploring capabilities and with the automatic firmware update can't wait to see what's ahead.

Better sound than Dot but less connectivity
This was the second mini I had purchased. Hooks up to free Spotify account unlike Dot which requires a paid Spotify account for use. Sound output is considerably louder than Dot and of better quality from built in speaker. Downside is no bluetooth connection for speakers etc which for Dot gets around smaller speaker. I have 2 Dots and now 2 minis and use them in different environments.

Fantastic gadget if you bought into google
If you invest in android, Chromecast and spotify then this is a great extension. Sound quality is really good for such a small speaker.

2nd Google Home Device
Got this as an extra device to have in the kitchen. Easy to set up and link with my first device. Can now play music on both devices around the home at the same time while also setting cooking timers etc in the kitchen. The device is a bit of a gimmicky gadget as I can do all this does using my smartphone, but its quick and simple to use and handsfree.

Good Speaker
Great Sound Quality and looks great in my room. Would definitely go for charcoal grey instead of light grey as easier to see the led lights. All together a really good speaker

Google Home Mini Review
Great product. Works really well and has a small form factor. I recommend using Spotify or Google play music and linking the account to your google account to have the best experience listening to music. You can listen to locally stored music too using bluetooth too. Sounds great for such a small speaker and gets very loud. Quite useful, recommend buying.

Very easy to setup and use. Decent sound quality to use in the kitchen, bathroom where you don't need high fidelity. The microphones on the device are very sensitive and it understands the queries easily. I use this a lot for following recipes in the kitchen, converting measurements, setting timers and listening to my music when cooking/baking and it works very well. Strongly recommended...

Great as a microphone connector for home control
Bought several of these to control my chromecast audio devices from any room in my house and they do their job well. I wouldn’t rely on them for their speakers as the audio quality isn’t great but they do ok as a bedside radio for the news and quiet morning music etc. They link quickly for setup and are pleasing aesthetically, small and neat. Perfect price for what they do.

Blends in and is very convenient
I wanted a device that would play the music I asked for from my Spotify and this does just that, and perfectly. The volume is great for my small dorm room and the fact it can set timers, alarms and search google for me is just an added bonus! I would highly recommend this product to anyone who just wants a convenient home assistant that is small and easy to set up

Fantastic fun as well as being genuinely useful!
Bought this as it wasn't expensive and had to be worth a try. It's great fun to "talk" to and actually genuinely useful for asking questions about traffic, opening times, phone numbers, and setting reminders, checking calendar entries, playing amusing games... It also integrates with our Samsung SmartThings and Honeywell EvoHome system so I can ask it to change the temperature in any room!

Meh!
A bit of fun for playing radio stations and the like but other than that, very limited. You say play Jazz Music and it will choose a playlist on spotify, tough luck if you don't like that selection as it won't take an instruction to try another playlist, and if there is one that you don't want to hear you can't exclude that playlist. It really doesn't understand most requests and gives irrelevant answers to questions, but there is no way of telling it that the answer is no good.

Great product for reasonable price
Initially wanted to get the bigger google home but after thinking about it I got two mini ones so can place it in different rooms. Set up is straight forward and I can control now all my music through Spotify, all my lights through Phillips hue, all my plugs Tp link and google chrome cast devices on TVs. For the price is great. I had Alexa dot for a while and can say that for most of the applications google one is better. You won’t be disappointed

A great addition to a Google household
I think it worth saying these are only as good as the setup you have, whilst they work straight out of the box there is only so much fun you can get from a Google Home Mini. However added to a home with several Chromecasts and a Logitech Hub means I can be in the living room and can ask Google to put E4 on or turn the lights off. Even if you don't have a set up it's a great little speaker for radio and podcasts and the way it guides you through recipies is worth it at that price.

Great little helper
I now have three of these and use them to play music throughout my flat and control lights and other appliances by voice. I use one as an alarm clock and another in the kitchen for music, recipes and as a timer. Google search is so easy to use once you get the hang of phrasing questions properly and I am often amazed by the information available. It's especially useful for checking on local shop opening times. The recent feature that enables you to make free phone calls is a great bonus.

Useful addition to the home
My Google Home Mini proved very easy to set up; the instructions were well laid out and clearly explained. As for the device itself, from what I have experienced it seems to give, at least for the great majority of the time, accurate and relevant answers to questions asked of it. I also find the calendar and reminder facility to be very useful too - it hasn't forgotten any of my reminders yet!
