Smart looking smart device
This is absolutely brilliant & great value, so much so that I’ve bought four of them & bought my children 1 each for their homes. So easy to set up, really easy to make a video call to anyone who has one of these shows, the sound quality is just brilliant. Probably the only negative thing would be it didn’t come with a stand which can be purchased for over a 3rd of the cost of this show 8. Other than that this device is simply amazing you can get her to play YouTube or you can watch amazon tv

Echo Show 8
Bought the Echo Show 5 for my parents (In there 60’s) that we all fell in love with it. Mum was able to hear songs that come to her head and Dad is able to do alarms and ask about his favourite documentary’s, I obviously got jealous so went and got myself one but with the bigger screen so it shows song names, radio stations, it does everything even CPR if in an event of a heart attack all sent by voice, if you’ve parents that arnt very mobile they can speak to it and ask for HELP

Good entertainment and other features
Primarily got this for the "drop-in" feature. This allows a video call to an elderly relative without them having to do anything at their end to answer the call. (Skype can sometimes be challenging when it asks the remote user to do things like 'upgrade to the latest version' etc.) A by-product for us is its entertainment value. eg Ask it to play music from the 60's and it not only plays a good selection of music but it also provides the lyrics karaoke style - so we can sing along!

Echo Show 8
I already have 2 echo devices but this is the only one with a screen. Mine is in the kitchen and I use it to watch bbc iplayer and you tube as well as listening to news and music. It's also really handy for looking up recipes whilst listening to music and radio. A lot of people don't like the revolving news feed and suggestions for things to try, but I quite enjoy it as it encourages me to interact more with the device and so make more discoveries. I absolutely love it

My first experience of Alexa. So far so good !!
Having seen and heard Alexa at my daughters house, I thought I must join in.My Son in law recommended the Echo Show 8, with a bigger screen especially at the Argos discount price. Good choice, easy to set up on wifi. Looks good, set up in the lounge. Found you have to be quite specific with questions, otherwise Alexa gets confused.You soon get used to it. Clock in the top left corner, is not adjustable to make it bigger.Not a major issue. Overall happy with the purchase.

The future
Excellent product does everything it says it does and more easy to set up ,we are a family of six and we all got one for Christmas it is fantastic for staying in touch with each other as a family through video chat or guest chat,also great for the kids to keep in touch with each other and safe as only used when parents about . great for controlling household appliances watching video streaming could go on and on it's just a great piece of kit for everyone to enjoy.

These are brilliant I have one in all main rooms and show 5s in bedrooms these are very similar to a fire tablet not only can they turn lights sockets on and off etc they can also keep the kids entertained at meal. Times by watching peppa pig on them the can access prime as well as you tube. You can play games and listen. To music. The sound quality is amazing been stereo sound and the bass is good screen quality is really good. Best buy iv made for along time.

Great device - glad I bought it!
This was my first Echo of any sort - pleased I went for the 8 inch screen. Perfect for a bedside internet music/radio/alarm device. Automatically dims in the dark and adjusts to the dawn - extremely user friendly. Great screen and sound - hard to see how anyone could be disappointed. I had read reviews moaning a little about the sound quality - its a small box which sounds extremely good and really could not sound better. I am very glad I bought it.

Perfect addition to any house.
Bought the Echo Show 8 through Argos at a hugely reduced price while it was on offer just before Christmas. Tried everywhere to get hold of one but they had all sold out apart from Argos. I was impressed at how easy it was to connect and use. My wife uses it for recipes while she's cooking or baking and the bigger screen on the Show 8 really helps. I listen to music mostly but with the built in Alexa it's great for searching the internet.

Excellent Sound!
I was a bit concerned that the sound might not be too amazing, but actually it's brilliant! I'm really pleased with the Echo Show. It works well with the 'Blink' camera we bought at the same time. Picture quality is really good and again better than I expected it to be. I'd say the Echo 8 is a perfect size too - not too big and not too small as the Echo 5 I think would be. Really pleased with it and would highly recommend it.

Does as is expected
Great for the price! It was difficult to get the screen working properly (showing YouTube, prime video etc) and we initially thought the screen only showed still images. Some functions you do have to go up to the screen and touch to select an option, improvements to the voice commands could be improved to accommodate. All in all well worth the money. It would be interesting to see how the more expensive newer version compares

Echo Show 8 Great value for money, ideal screen size, Music and Radio streaming sounds great, add other compatible devices, ask the Alexa anything from Cooking tips, Recipes, Alexa weather update, Education, Languages, Prime video streaming, just a mention a few, can't say anything bad about the Alexa show 8 love everything about it, believing is trying it for one's self, and see scope this product as. Great Kitchen Gadget
This Amazon Echo Show8 was very simple to set up like most Echo's. The screen is just the right size for us to use in the kitchen. It's great to listen to music whilst singing along with the lyrics on the screen. I have used it to play videos on You Tube for recipes whilst I am cooking in the Kitchen. I would highly recoment anyone to buy this Amazon Echo Show8 for the price we paid it was a great gift at Christmas to!

Was pleasantly surprised. Bought one for myself to dip my toe as I needed a new music system for the kitchen. The added Alexa functions at first were just a bonus. However I enjoyed the first one so much I bought another for the upstairs landing. Then I got a dot to make my soundbar part of the house multiroom soundsystem. They won't break any records for sound but they have a good price to performance ratio.

Echo Show
The Echo Show is a nice addition to my Alexa ecosystem. It has superb sound quality, a nice HD picture and has an unobtrusive design. It can be a tiny bit slow when performing some tasks but not enough to put me off using it. I would definitely recommend it even for the basic functions such as speaker, a clock, an alarm, or watching YouTube. Free video calling between other Echo Shows is an added bonus.

Fantastic
The Echo Show 8 is fantastic; I use it mainly with two security cameras, medication reminders and all of its facilities. However, the cameras are "Wansview" & "Koogeek" both of which operate through Alexa app on my mobile phone the Wansview links with Show 8 but the Koogeek camera cannot be found by Show. I am awaiting a response from Koogeek but can you or some customers provide help to overcome this.

Definitely the best of the Alexa products
Easy set up connected straightaway. I find been able to drop in with video so much better as I use these as baby monitors. The games sections keeps the kids entertained for hours. I still enjoy the fact she’s like a PA and keeps me updated on reminders the sound quality is fantastic when playing music and I enjoy the fact the words appear on the screen so it’s a yes from me

Great alternative to the larger echo show
The echo show 8 is a great alternative to the large echo show. The screen is vibrant and the sound quality is fantastic. The device is great for video calls over amazons service or Skype, as a digital photo frame and as a music player. Be aware there are not many video skills available besides amazon video so if you were purchasing the device to watch Netflix your out of luck.

Echo show 8 great piece of kit
Bought as a Gift for our family. Easy to connect and use with the app. Sits in the kitchen and the family play music while they cook and eat, watch films, does a shopping list, checks traffic and weather and loads more. So simple our 6 year old granddaughter uses it. Oh yes! Keeps our family connected so we can all see and chat anytime, perfect.

Echo show 8 is amazing
Ordered the Echo show 8 from Argos because they could deliver next day. Actually ordered it firzt from Amazon but was informed it would be 4 dzys delivery,even with prime. Argos saved me again. The Echo show 8 is amazing. Excellent touch screen, brilliant sound and so easy to use. Thank you Argos for excellent service and delivery.

Excellent sound (good base) and nice screen
Better sound quality than I expected. The screen is nice; I've read that it's better than the Show 5 in terms of quality and resolution too. Picks up my voice well. Integrated with my other smart devices easily. I'd definitely recommend this. It's replaced my Echo which has been moved to the bedroom.

love it sound very loud you can put photos on
love the amazon echo 8 sound is really good i put it on volume 8 i can hear it while tidying upstairs or living room put photos on as a slide show make playlist also use my ring door bell on it when alexa is not in use you can see the time on it i would recommend to buy it you need to speak clearly

Brilliant
We have 2 Alexa show 8's in Black easy to set up can do a photo moving gallery on it much more, we bought ours as have The Ring Doorbell2 & Ring Camera & these can be used with the Show 5 & 8 plus mobiles etc we have one for lounge & other for Bedroom great alarm for wake up calls or other reasons
