Like being captain of the Enterprise although ‘tea, earl grey, hot’ is still a little beyond Alexa at present. Very easy to learn, you will soon try new things and often get some amusing results... “Alexa, sing a song!” Excellent device for keeping the elderly safe by making seamless contact with friends and family with the simplest commands: “Alexa, call Dad!” and the ability to automate many tasks although you may need to buy ‘smart plugs, bulbs’ etc: “Alexa, switch on the lounge light!”

I'm in love with Alexa! - (Literally!!)
Had been thinking about an Amazon Echo for a good few weeks as my partner and Mum both have one but wasn't sure if I'd use it that much! How wrong was I?? These ARE brilliant!! Looks the part and has great sound quality! Setup is fairly easy via the Alexa website and you don't necessarily need a smartphone or tablet to get it going. A standard computer will do! The Alexa assistant does a whole host of things and new skills you can turn on are being added all the time! HIGHLY recommended!

OK but it doesn't pair with Echo Studio
Excellent stand-alone smart speaker but not too impressed with sound quality so listen before buying. Having decided I like smart speakers I wanted to replace my micro hi-fi so bought an Echo Studio thinking it would make a stereo pair with the Echo I'd already got. No it doesn't and if I'd checked it out properly I'd have found it under Connectivity Q&A's in the Amazon Help areas. However, I put them in a "Group" which I can play simultaneously in "double mono" and it's still impressive.

Absolutely Superb.
I was given an Amazon Dot for a Christmas present which I thought was good however the sound could have been better - the Amazon Echo is in a different league. The Alexa software is very comprehensive however there are no instructions supplied with the Echo so its down to the buyer to explore. If like me you are fan of older music, you will love the Echo. No doubt there is an "Echo for Dummies" in the book shops but its easier to find out for yourself what's available - my Grandchildren have.

Great sound on this Alexa
This Alexa is just the right size to place discreetly in any room in my house.it was easy to set up, and the speakers are very clear. When I switch it on, it’s up and running within a split second. It play’s all my favourite music, so no longer a need for my CD player and CDs. Alexa is a wealth of knowledge, can give answers to so many questions, and give the correct pronunciation for foreign languages, she can even tell you jokes and so much more. Would definitely recommend to anybody.

Alexa misses a few tricks
Amazon Echo 3rd generation is pretty good although you really need to subscribe to Amazon Prime to benefit from a lot of the features, many music titles are not accessable in the basic mode. One feature it boasts in the marketing blurb is the ability of "Alexa" to read your emails to you, regrettably this particular feature isn't available on the UK App it seems it will only work in the USA & Canada. I tend to use it both as an alarm clock and to listen to the radio, for which it is great.

Beware the Amazon hype on this piece of kit.
Unless you buy into Amazon services it does little more than act like any other speaker connected to your phone by Bluetooth. There is the gimmick of voice activation but you soon get bored with Alexa saying she is “not sure about that” and wishing you “sleep tight” when you say goodnight to her. Until Amazon allow her access to the full range of apps such as BBC Sounds her use is limited. You have to first find what you want to listen to on your phone and then connect her to it.

Fantastic bit of tech
I bought this Alexa for my daughter for Christmas, and she loves it. It was easy to set up and get working for her, and the sound quality is excellent. The only negative I have is the issue with connecting to my music streaming choice, Deezer. Alexa will play my "Flow" with no problems, but it won't play any of the playlists. Alexa says it's an issue with my Deezer subscription, but I'm not the only person having this issue!! Other than this, I cannot fault Alexa.

Alexa
Very pleased with Echo, sound quality is very good and has many uses by just being there... Disappointing that cannot get BBC radio 2 and other stations..well as far as I am aware and I bought Alexa for the Radio but what must blind or short sighted people think of that...and if you want to ask for Alexa to play a certain song she asks you to join Amazon music and pay a subscription every month.. Pleased with basic use but the radio and music bit has dampened my enthusiasm

Easy for everyone!
Me and my fiancé have been wanting to get one forever! I had to buy one and for the most part I’m impressed. Its everything I wanted it to be. The quality of the speaker is great and it goes super loud which I love! The only issue I have it playing music sometimes. Sometimes it cant find an artist on Apple Music like blink 182 but finds them on Spotify, Or thinks an artist is a play list, like easy life. Apart from that it’s my purchase of the year

Great Piece of Kit
6th Alexa device. Everything just works seamlessly. Easy to link to all your other Alexa devices. Sound quality is brillaint. I have an Amazon Show (2nd gen) and it knocks the socks off it. You don't need the Echo Pro unless you want to use it as a hub - Echo Show has a hub built in if you already have one. Regardless of the Alexa features it's such a high quality speaker it's good to just Bluetooth to. I've got a Bose 30 speaker - this is just as good.

Great Addition to my TV
I bought 2 of these Echo 3rd gen speakers as an addition to my Firestick to create a fantastic cinema sound setup and greatly improve what my TV alone is able to offer. The 3rd gen is a huge improvement in sound over the 2nd gen speaker I had before these with plenty of base and volume if needed. Alexa response is even better than last gen too , you can barely whisper and Alexa will pick up the commands and even whispers back. Great for late at night.

awesome smart speaker!
Powerful wholesome sound. Fantastic smart speaker that provided high quality music and plenty of volume. My Echo is set up in my kitchen so I can forget the world and enjoy cooking to music. Also the Alexa feature and app is perfect for making shopping lists! My trip to the supermarket has been made easy just by telling Alexa to add an item to my shopping list every time I finish something from my fridge/pantry. Would 100% recommend!

Great little peice of tech.
I bought it mainly for music streaming from amazon prime. It works great and understands most of what I say. The sound is awesome considering the price, more than loud enough to fill a decent size room and with good bass levels. Great for setting reminders and alarms etc.. and she's not averse to a bit of banter. Great purchase not at all dissapointed. Also if your worried about it listening in on you you can even turn the mic off.

Great sound & AI for the size and price
The sound quality is very good considering the price and size. The bass is quite good, the treble and mids are also very clear. Alexa is overall very good. But I think the microphones are not as good as my much smaller Echo Dot. There are times it just doesn’t pick up my voice. I’ve got smart plugs so Alexa on this device is very helpful in switching the lights. Regardless, for the price - higher recommended.

Best money I have spent
This ittle device is the most amazing value for money, it can do so much! I bought it expecting to use it for mostly music but I also use it to set appointments in my phone calendar, reminders, timers, alarm and have now bought a couple of smart bulbs and plugs so I can use the alexa app when I'm away from home to switch my lights on and off. Brilliant! Tip: learn how to set routines as they really let her shine!

A* for Alexa
Bought this as a Christmas present for my parents and they absolutely love it! It’s a great addition in our living room, playing music, adding reminders, setting alarms etc. The set up was easy and the sound quality is much better than we had anticipated. The new design is much nicer than previous generations. I’d definitely recommended purchasing one of these, even if it’s just for your bedroom.

Great gadget!
Bought this for the Mrs as she fancied one and I've got to say what a great gadget it is! Very useful for the weather and news etc but the best bit is for music. I've linked my Spotify account to it so now when we want to listen to something we just ask Alexa. Same for radio, just ask. The sound that comes out of it is fantastic for such a small speaker. Stop reading reviews and get one, you won't regret it.

Better than expected
Bought this smart speaker for my parents (in their 60s). They were impressed with it, especially the voice command feature. Got it up and running quickly, everyone asking Alexa to play their favourite songs during Christmas Day. Quality of sound especially the base is superb for a small speaker. No distortion etc. Asking Alexa questions both amazed and amused us. Definitely recommend.

Very clever device
Very clever device take some time to get used to the command in order to get it to do what you want. We have since got an echo dot in addition which can be tricky to get both speakers to play the same thing at the same time i.e. music. Massively impressed with the sound quality no matter what you play from classical to rock but the bass does have limitations as do all speakers in the same class.

Thank God for amazon
I brought this from Argos but it would not connect to the Internet after a long conversation and countless resets amazon couldn't even connect it so they changed it for another one which arrived next day and as soon as I plugged it in it connected to the Internet and my phone so thank you amazon. Its actually a very good product and if the original had worked it would have received 5 stars.

Amazon Echo
Fantastic! Great sound. Easy connectivity, great with all voices including kids. It also has multiple features/functions and can connected to others including TV and smart phone. It can also be used to operate any electrical devise with the use of additionally bought special plugs. Fantastic for audio books/music/games/jokes/information/shopping lists/recipes etc. We all love it

Got this for my parents, who are ‘Luddites’ and don’t take to new technology very easily. They are both 90, now. Voice control means it’s simple and they don’t need to learn buttons and menus! Argos store locator tool was excellent as these were very rare before Christmas. Clicked & reserved at Keighley (nearest availability to Lancashire pre-Christmas !!!!!!)

Good sound from the Amazon Echo
I used the click and collect there were no problems it’s a good service . I have a problem getting a radio signal so the Amazon Echo works really well . Some free music from Amazon . Can also be used to send messages to my family to their Echos . Radio / music and messages all free with no contracts. Good sound from the Amazon Echo also looks good I have the beige one .
