Compared lens to my Canon 70-200 f4L. Other than the weight difference, the Sony feels extremely solid and precision. I will let you know after I get my camera body...

Gorgeous lens
This lens is a great fit for the Sony Alpha 7R and S. a Bit heavy and large, but very well made, high quality optics, and mechanical features of the best lenses.

Awesome lens for travel/weddings
I'm using this lens to film weddings from the back of the ceremony. It's perfect! Also, taking this to Hawaii with me because it's only 2lbs! Super great value.

high quality lens you won't regret buying. It may not be the best (i.e. 5 star) 70-200mm lens you will find out there but it is certainly one of the best!

Great zoom!
Took it on a safari and it was the bomb! Everyone loved my pictures. Even though I'm a beginner, with this lens, I was taking some of the best pictures.

Great for handheld use with the A7R
I got great handheld images from day one with this lens and my A7r. I even use it with my 6.44 Sony Experia Z Ultra smartphone and APS-C QX1.

Excellent!
Sharp and stable. Easily hand held at 1/30. Very light and maneuverable. Haven't used on a tripod yet and am very happy with results.

Light, compact. Reasonably sharp given the price. F4 sounds not so fast but didn't find it problematic so far. Recommended.
