Must have E Mount Lens
Wanted to expand in to the wide angle I purchased this as a second lens for my a6000. Amazed every time at the field of view at the 10mm side. Amazing for landscape. Should be useful for close quarters images as well.

Highly recommended
Ultra Wide and fisheye is where the mirrorless systems really shine - obviously it seems to be much easier (and cheaper) to build good wide angle lenses for shorter lens flange/sensor distance. The (in my view totally outstanding) Rokinon/Samyang 8/2.8 Fisheye for NEX and the excellent 10-18 Sony both prove it. Little to no CA issues, limited flare issues, sharp to the corners stopped down and a small, lightweigt package you can take everywhere. ... Show More

Youn can't this lens for the price.
The lens is exceptional. Every day street lens plus beautiful landscapes. There is some lens curvature at 10MM, but without looking at a brick wall it will be hard to see. Easily taken care of in PS. You may find a better lens, at twice the price.

Great lens - I'm very satisfied
I'm using this lens for a variety of things but tested it in the woods at a spot which I've tested other lenses. The results exceeded my expectations. You can't really appreciate the detail in the attachment because it can't been view at full res,*

Great Quality!
I'm very impressed with the quality of this lens. I've been a Canon L lens guy for 15 years and wasn't sure how a lens on a mirrorless camera would satisfy me. As a backup system, I'm not disappointed in the images this lens provided.

Great E-Mount UWA Zoom!
Just got this last week and theres been a lot of rain so haven't been able to really test it out other than around the house. But it is sharp in the center wide open at f/4 and stopped down a bit sharpens up in the corners. And with the OSS it's great indoors for higher iso conditions.

Excellent Lens
I use this lens for Landscape and Architecture. It has very little distortion. The lens is tack sharp and autofocus is fast. Widest Aperture is F 4 from 10mm to 18mm. Auto focus is fast as expected in a wide angle zoom.

Fun Lens
Great lens for tight spots, I have used it at a wedding reception recently and in a band room for video with my Sony ea50uh. The image quality is very nice, the only draw back is the lens distortion at 10mm which is occasionally a cool effect but not always.

Top-notch lens for NEX
This lens matches the angle of view of the Sigma 10-20 that I have used on my Pentax K5 DSLR but is much smaller and lighter, has OSS, and is a bit faster at the long end. It is well built and very sharp. Distortion at the wide end is easily eliminated by the lens profile and Upright tool in Lightroom 5. I will be selling the Sigma 10-20

lovely for landscapes
My other setup is a Nikon D800 with the 14-24mm lens. They are a joy to use but heavy to pack. I pair this lens with the NEX-7 to make hiking pleasant again and still get the landscape vistas I love. I also like the reasonable size so I can use the occasional filter again on the wide angles such as my infrared or variable ND filter.

Great lens - opens up new possibilities.
If you never had a 10mm,(15mm equiv.), wide angle you'll be shocked at the photo's possibilities that open up for you. This lens presents great color, contrast with decent sharpness. I haven't noticed any color fringing that would bother me. It's such a fun lens to have that I have to force myself NOT to use it because I'm overdoing it.

Nice lens
Works great for landscapes and narrow streets. Sharpness is good, even at f/4. I love these ultra-wide distortions it creates, although I noticed some barrel distortions as well (they get corrected in NEX-5 automatically). Chromatic abberations are noticeable, especially at f/4, but nothing too bad.

Great Lens
New to ultra wide angle but love the lens and perspective, great for capturing the great outdoors, whether it's the city, a harbor, or a forest. Feels great, operates smoothly.

The Best !!!
I use this lens for my NEX 5n & 6. Its very versatile lens from 10mm UWA for landscape/citiscape and inside the house/building to WA for landscape and walk around. Pictures taken with the UWA is less fish-eye distortion compared to the competition. This lens is equivalent to 3 popular format lenses in one e.i. 10mm, 24mm, 28mm. I'll pair it with my NEX 6 when I travel this year.

Excellent UWA for Sony NEX
This is by far my favorite E Mount lens that I have used. Landscapes, Cityscapes, up close street, long exposure nights, HDR. So versatile! Aperture of f4 might be a little slow for some but with OSS I'm able to shoot at 1/5 hand held if needed. Lightweight and built well.

Why not G rated?
For an ultra wide zoom this lens is relatively compact and lightweight (compared to the full-frame, wide angle zoom on my Alpha 99 which weight more than the NEZ-7 and this lens combined!). Colours are bright and punchy, images are sharp across the frame at f8 and require no distortion correction in Photoshop. This is now my official walkabout lens on my NEX-7. I don't understand why Sony don't give this the G rating that it clearly deserves - it's certainly expensive enough!

very nice lens for landscape
Slightly soft at f4, but worst at f16 and 22. OK between f5.6-11, but not super sharp, but OK

Buy this lens. Thank me later!
I am a confirmed wide-angle nut. It all started with a nice Nikkor 20mm lens on a Nikon FM body some 35 years ago, and here I am with a new NEX-6 and this great lens. This lens was the deciding factor for me not going with the Olympus OMD, as this beauty uses standard 62mm filters and at the same time provides wonderfully wide, sharp views of the world with minimal distortion, all presented in a very well engineered, compact, great looking and fe... NEX Masters UWA with the 10-18mm
Finally the NEX delivers an UWA for the landscape and cityscape photography crowd. This lens goes a long way to making the NEX system a viable replacement to its big brother DSLRs. From summiting 14K ft mountain peaks of Colorado to canyoneering in the streams of Zion you'll feel like you're getting away with it compared to that poor schlep lugging a full frame Canikon system around his neck. The 10-18's light weight, tack sharp corners, and plea... Show More

I shoot NEX7, NEX6, NEX5N. Have used all the SONY E and most A lenses and legacy Leica 135, Nikon 50, Nikon 105, Nikon 180, Canon 35, Minolta 50, Sony macro 100, Voigtlander 15, etc. I have to do lots of fast street shooting, quick video, and need a small camera to not disrupt the subjects. I have used this 10-18 daily for almost a month, and love it. Image quality in real world is close to or equal to Zeiss 24. I rarely miss a shot, and the rang... Show More

Nice lens, but expen$ive
Aside from the price, the lens seems to have few faults. It's wide enough that I'm going to sell my fisheye and it matches perfectly with my 18-55 and 55-210 for a nice seamless zoom capacity. The OS works well, which makes up for its lack of speed pretty well. It's beautifully made and seems much more solid than the kit lens, as it should be with the amount you pay for it. Produces sharp photos. Coverage is way wider than the NEX-6 flash can manage.

Excellent Wide-Angle Zoom
The size, weight, and overall quality of this lens is just about perfect. Really good image quality across the frame with the corners already good wide open. Having OSS in a wide-angle zoom is surprisingly useful when using the lens handheld. The lens does exhibit some magenta color casting in the corners and edges when paired with the NEX 7 even with the latest firmware. This is an issue with the camera design not the lens. I could have used this on a recent trip to SF. I use it on my 5N. Very sharp to the edges plus stabilization. The 5N with this in my camera bag is a no brainer with either my Leica or 5DIII.
