Great drive and and performance
Drive performs well, plays and writes nearly every type of CD and DVD media. I purchased it as a backup and replacement for an intermittently failing internal superdrive in an older MacBook Pro. This LG drive is faster and has been a great choice to sit on my desktop. I chose it because it has some size and weight to it, so it would stay in place when inserting and removing disks. First look doesn't inspire confidence.
The software that came with it is only for Windows machines, with a Mac you can just tell it to burn to disc. I'm not that impressed with it as far as looks and feel go. It doesn't look like it is very sturdy. I have tried one disc only so far and that was a regular DVD, I haven't tried the M disc yet, which is why I bought the machine. More testing is in order.

Does what is required.
Works as advertised. It does get a little loud at times when the disk is spun up. I purchased this to install some old software that is on DVD. I have not tried to burn anything yet. Nice looking and has all necessary cables

Great Drive
This drive is very fast and reliable. It does a great job at reading old cd-r discs. It also comes with an excellent package of Cyberlink software that is very useful for audiophiles. Overall a great choice.

Works Flawlessly
the cd/dvd burners died on Both my HP dv laptops! So i got this external burner, and it's been working great. Plus I'm more updated with the ability to burn important files and videos on M-discs.
