Fun drone but horrible support
Bought this from DJI due to the long wait from 3rd party suppliers. Initially I was extremely impressed with my first drone. Great speed along with great fine control. Fantastic camera and good battery life. My bad was after their 1.03.0400 update I was having video feed failures and had a flyaway occur that caused my mavic to move left and up into a tree over a river. Fantastic drone, consumer grade camera
This is an amazing little drone. The gimbal holds the camera incredibly stable. The drone itself is super easy to fly. The DJI flight software gives tons of flight information and the intelligent flight modes are really awesome. The only drawback is the camera limitation. One Defective Battery
B&H Service 5/5 (as usual) Dji Products 4/5 I ordered this drone package and when I received it everything worked great except for one of the battery packs that came with the fly more pack. The battery came without a charge, like the others, but unlike the others would not charge. Amazing Device, really lousy video
Professional videographer here. I bring this with me everywhere. The form factor is incredible, the flying features robust and awesome. It's fun as can be. The video is AWFUL. Awesome technology and form factor
Just got back from a vacation in Hawaii and the manic pro performed flawlessly. Not happy with DJI at all. Problems with always needing to update the app. when you get to a different location, other than your home. You drive 50 miles for nothing to find out that you need to update to the latest app. then you drive back home another 50 miles, turn on the drone in your driveway and BAM!!! drone takes off and works great. This is quite the flying machine. Very easy to fly. Small but filled with features. The small size is great and provides for much easier use if traveling. Fun, easy, and works well.
Mavic Pro is my first UAS. It is exceptionally fun to fly, easy to learn, and the gimbal and camera work very well. For professionals, complying with FAA Section 107 isn't difficult; you just need to, ya know, be a professional about it. You can fly for an hour trading out each of the three included batteries. Another case of batteries dead on arrival
This will most likely be a two part review. This one is just to focus on the fact that I received my drone and none of the the 3 batteries worked. I read the reviews prior to purchasing this drone but thought that wasn't going to happen to me. Well, it did. I was very happy with my Mavic purchase. Until after just over a month of ownership, it took a mind of its own mid-flight, failed to respond to stick input, and landed itself in a tree, making it irretrievable. Excellent features.
After recently getting into drone photography and working my way through beginner drones, I finally invested in a Mavic. The drone itself is fantastic. Easy to fly. My other drone is an Inspire 1. I was looking for something smaller for filming in tight places and the Mavic Pro Platinum fits the bill nicely. Video quality is decent for this size and price point. I know there has been a long waiting list for the Mavic, but it is NOT worth the wait. As soon as I started taking aerial photos, I saw the green or yellow-tinted area in the middle of each image taken in full daytime sunlight (not at night or in snow). Great product, compact design and high quality image. Easy to use right out of the box. What was disappointing - the battery that came with the drone unit was dead on arrival. This battery would not charge with either charger that came with the Combo Kit. The charging hubs green light turned red just after a few seconds. This is a lemon - avoid at all costs
If you live in a city, you cannot fly it without getting a ticket or arrested. This drone had so many issues with connecting to software that it drifted off while in Africa. The return to home feature and GPSdid not work. I could notcalibrate IMU or compass. Not just in Africa, but in Queens and Staten Island.
