My New Travel Companion
Usually travel with two DSL bodies and three lenses (Weight with case 18#). Trip to Africa limited weight to 44#, including carry ons, and wife insisted I bring some clothes, so I reluctantly ordered this Sony at less than 2 1/2 #. WOW - I can shoot in RAW, manually, with back button focus from 24mm to 600mm without changing the lens! And I have been extremely pleased with the results from landscape to telephoto birds, and even slo-motion videos!... Show More

Great camera
Still learning all of the bells and whistle but I am really liking it! I have been leaving my SLR and lens at home and taking this one with me all of the time. I watched YouTube video tutorials, which have been very helpful. Shooting my first HS baseball game tonight, very excited.

Save your back and simplify, simplify, simplify!
A few years ago I decided to switch from Nikon to Sony and I have never looked back. I am so happy with all the Sony cameras I have used and still use. Recently I think my age is catching up to me and the weight and the amount of lenses I was traveling with was starting to drive me crazy. For the last couple years I noticed other travelers using "bridge" type cameras but I thought that they would never come close to my a6500. Well, I was very muc... Show More

So worth it
I have been using this camera for almost 2 months now and I am really happy that I finally made the plunge to buy it. I had previously used the Panasonic Lumix FZ1000, which also has the 1" sensor, a great improvement in photo quality over the Lumix FZ70 I had before that. But I missed having more zoom on the FZ1000. The much higher price of the RX10 made me really research this camera before buying it. It was rainy the first week I got this came... Show More

Pricey But Worth It
I've only had the camera for a week but I'm seriously impressed so far. Despite having a very long zoom range it produces very sharp images regardless of focal length. The jpegs straight out of the camera are so good that messing with the raw images is hardly worth the effort.

Excellent all around camera
As many reviews describe it on the internet, it is a good all around camera. The focus speed is very good, optics are high quality and the lens have little distortion even at their longest local length. You will take great pictures with this camera in daylight and average in poor lighting conditions (like indoor and artificially lit subjects). I still keep my LX7 for those poor light conditions, but otherwise this camera is the best all rounder I've seen so far!

Awesome Camera with some Compromises
Will try to limit the review to bullet points rather than an essay and relating to my still photography, no video. Shot 6000+ pics in 2 months of ownership. Pros: -Excellent IQ -Excellent AF -Superb Continuous burst mode (in RAW) - The camera keeps on writing the pics in SD card but lets you shoot. I did bird shooting last week and never found this stopping my clicking the pics. -Excellent IQ at full zoom, super Image stabilization... Show More

Favorite of My 50 Years of Photography
I've been an exclusively-Canon photographer (amateur) for 50 years. This year I sold all my Canon lenses and equipment and full-frame body, and bought this amazing camera. It is so capable with a 24-600mm zoom that I find to be sharp, undistorted and well-saturated throughout the range. I gave up the big sensor of my Canon. But I find this smaller one to be almost as good mated with this permanent lens. And all this for less than half the weight ... Show More

Amazing!
I was looking to upgrade cameras and was on the waiting list for the a7iii, but after reading many reviews and doing some thinking about cost as well as what I "really" wanted in a camera as well as being impatient and not wanting to wait for who knows how long for a7iii and 24-105 I decided to give the RX10 iv a try. And WOW am I happy, the camera is absolutely amazing, images are quite honestly stunning. The zoom range needless to say is fantas... Show More

Like a lot -- too early for full five.
Just short of a month and so far mightily impressed. Have exceeded all of my expectations -- and many to most of the finer points still beyond my reach. Do highly recommend one of the instructional books as manual user friendly. Burst shooting, glass quality and general ease of use seems to be excellent. Likely my new travel / walk around camera.

Best 'Run and Gun' Camera Ever!
If you are in need of one device that shoots superior video and stills (without grabbing a backpack full of gear), this is it! The 24mm to 600mm lens is a phenomenal combination and the on-board stabilization is a total winner. I upgraded from the RX10 III. The auto-focus has been greatly improved over the III. I use this camera professionally for video and stills and I use it every day. No regrets!

Best All-in-One Camera Ever?
I won't belabor all of the things you may be able to read in trade press or other reviewers, but I will say that with limited use I am blown away by the AF system - it really works even on birds in flight at 600mm and 24fps. Only a few of a 50 shot sequence were not razor sharp. Considering I was tracking an Osprey with catch flying fast I'm impressed. I would not buy this camera if you are expecting really great high ISO performance or if you think it is full weather-sealed (it is weather resistant based on what I have seen). However, it is one incredible bridge camera and fun to shoot.

Likeable, but a little quirky
I like this camera, especially its very long zoom range and fast focus speed. It is somewhat different from most other digital cameras in the way the menu is organized and operates so there has been a challenging learning curve for me. It is very noisy at high end ISO's which is difficult for those who live in the Pacific NW with its generally lower light levels. I appreciate having the aperture changes take place on the lens barrel, retro though that might be. I am old enough to have learned this placement so it is second nature. All in all, this is a good camera.

Video and digital pictures are excellent
I bought this camera after watching many videos on Youtube showing the amazing 4K quality and digital stills. I was looking for a all in one travel camera that can take pics and videos and this is perfect. Not a good walking video camera since the stabilization is not the best but if sitting on tripod its produces excellent quality. The zoom is also amazing if you are into wildlife photography.

Impressive Camera with Great Service
Bought this camera for trip to Alaska. Wanted a self contained camera so that meant trade-offs. It would not provide the same flexibility as a DSLR with multiple lenses, but I think the RX10 IV still hits my sweet spot. Still learning but so far very impressed. Very happy with B&H. Nobody is discounting this recently announced camera. Getting a memory and camera bag essentially for free was a good deal. Very quick processing and shipment of my order once placed. In talking with my photography friends they rave about B&H and so far, I can see why.

Happy With My Purchase
I purchased my RX10 Model IV back in November, 2017 mainly to use it for video purposes and I have found that it fulfills that need very nicely. Another reason for my purchase was to have a camera that would serve as a "grab and go, do it all". I am a long time Canon user and don't plan to abandon that. I am also one who is getting up in years and equipment weight considerations are important. Lugging around a case full of cameras and lenses is ... Show More

Great camera
Camera works great, great photo quality. Camera bag fits perfect. So many options especially for focusing. I finally have the camera reacting the way I want. Focus works very fast but depends on the type of target. Video operation worked well. Did not try 4K as I have nothing to watch it on. The screen-eyepiece in auto works better than the Sony 7RII.

Amazing! "NO DOUBT - THIS ONE IS A KEEPER"
I need to revise my review of 11/22/17 "Not Ready for Prime Time." Having sold my Sony RX10 III in December of 2017 I soon found that I missed it. Before deciding to purchase another RX10 III I figured I would give the RX10 IV another try. WOW, what can I say? This camera is amazing! There is no doubt that the first RX10 IV was a dud. I have shot over 3,000 pictures and I can honestly say that there has only been 3 images out of focus. Focusing at 600mm is fantastic - spot on. Usable ISO is much better that the RX10 III. Expensive but SUPER zoom
I've been using super zoom cameras for a number of years now and the RX10 IV is hand's down the best I've experienced. Super fast focus, good low-light capability and great quality images make it a winner. Down-side is the complicated menu (my previous cameras were Lumix) and the high price. My first unit had a focus issue and B&H made the replacement process very easy. A fun camera for travel or just general photography.

Traveling and pictures is fun again!
After years of packing around Canon 5D and several lens, including L series 28 to 300, plus flash, the weight became to much. After a visit to B&H last fall, I was introduced to Sonys Bridge Camera. I was amazed by some of the pictures the gentleman behind the counter shared with me, So much so after returning home I did some more research on the RX-10 IV. Needless to say I bought one. We just returned from a 4 day weekend trip to Monument Vall... Show More

A bit slow but as expected
Good quality, but if you're used to a mirrorless or dslr, then you'll find the camera slow to startup and zoom. AF is adequate, as expected for a bridge camera.

Just what I wanted.
I am a Fuji shooter, and I LOVE my Fuji X-T2, but I knew I couldn't hand hold the 100-400 lens. I like to take pictures of birds and wanted a long telephoto lens for that purpose. The Sony RX10 IV is what I needed. The color isn't as good as with the Fuji, but the reach is great. It is easy to hand hold, and the pictures are sharp.
