Adequate for My Needs
This mic is fairly inexpensive but I think I would opt for a better, more expensive one if I had to do it again. I've used it on all the settings and find that the -10db setting makes everything sound like it's under water. the +10db setting worked best and I was able to get discreet birds sounds without extraneous traffic noises. It's much better sound quality than the built in D500 Mic
I only used it once shooting a video of myself playing my Roland digital accordion. The sound quality was good enough for YouTube video presentations of musical performances.

Unless you have a newer camera, don't buy this mic
It doesn't fit on my camera properly and doesn't seem to record sound any clearer or better than my own camera. I'm a bit disappointed.

Finally found the right mic.
This microphone is perfect for my use. I video Fly Tyers in a very noisy club atmosphere. My speakers are clear and all the ambient, background noise is substantially reduced. I like that it sits on the table, and not clipped on to my subject. Very hsppy

The worst product ever
I got it and I was very excited. But after shooting 2 videos with it i woke up one day and the hooks for putting on the shock mount grips fell off, the shock mount grips all fell out and the microphone wouldn't turn on.

Only slightly better than camera mic
Really regretted this purchase after finding that the mic didn't do much to improve sound quality. I still have to purchase something better to do the job now

Senal CS-88 Shot gun mic
I put this on 6D and My T6S and the sound out to about 9 feet was very good and better the the closer you get.

I am creating intro videos for business owners. I have only used a couple of times so far so I need to play with it a little more to write a full review. Its seems to help some but not quite as much as I had hoped for.

Problem mounting it on a Nikon D5500 and on Everio Video cam
Just got the CS-88 shotgun Micro. Did anybody had trouble mount it on the DSLR? I have a Nikon D5500 and Everio video camera. I was told by B&H this Mic will work on both devices.

Solid Mic
Works great with DSLR. I prefer the sound quality over my much more expensive Rhode shotgun mic.

Not worth It
This microphone is horrible. The switch on the back really doesn't do anything and this mic picks up so much amp noise . It only really picks up the highs but your mids and lows will be very thin . I dont know anybody that has purchased this mic and I havent seen any kind of BH review for it in the slightest. Just be smart and buy a rode Go mic if your looking for a cheap alternative.

Excellent external mike for the price ...
The floating rubber mount does a lot to help isolate overall noise. 60 Hz high pass filter is genuinely useful as well as three level gain switch. BE sure to turn the mike on each time you use it. Nothing sinks your heart faster than reviewing your video recording with NO sound! I just leave it on until I am done for the day.

Terrific Inexpensive Shotgun
I used this shotgun in a moderately noisy bar the other day and while it picked up the background noise, standing about 3-4 feet from my subject, they were loud and clear. For the money, it's a terrific mic. Other than that example, I am using the mic in typical environments with moderate noise levels and the sound quality is pretty good. Only complaint, and this is more about me than the Mic, is you have to remember to turn on the power on the Mic. It's an extra step that if forgotten, gives you only pretty silent video.

Great Product
This is a really clear microphone but the setup on it for use with the 5d makes it a little hard to take pictures while it is attached. I would suggest getting an extention to take it up a little higher. As far as the quality, you can't beat the quality with the price.

Gets the job done
Needed an external mic for outdoor work using a Canon 7D MkII that was picking up huge noise from the AF. Reduced the noise almost completely. Depends on the lens. Really good with the new Sigma HSM. Elimated most other external noise behind me and the variable gain and high pass filter give me lots of options at a low cost. I added a fuzzy windscreen as well for outdoors. Very well designed works very well.
We use this mic on Video Camera and on pole. doing interviews. When doing them outside or in noise areas it has cleaned up the problems of background noise 80%or better. The only problem that we had was it came with 3/8 thread not 1/4 20 thread.

Great external mic!
I bought this for my Nikon D5100 and so far I am not disappointed. You can also attach this mic to a boom pole for your home movies!

It's ok, but was not necessary
I mounted this mic on my Panasonic consumer camcorder and it appeared to me that the camcorder's native mic is as good or better, making this mic pointless. I don't know if it's a compliment to Panasonic or an insult to this mic, but that's just my experience.
