Redrock Micro microSupport Baseplate (15mm Low Riser)
MPN's:
Great Quality
I have always loved Redrock Micros gear and this baseplate doesnt disappoint. It feels solid and of high quality without being too heavy and is a super useful piece of kit for anyone looking to set up a rail system. I will be using it for wildlife filming on my FS7 and am excited to be able to pair it with some rails and a lens support to use super telephoto lenses.

Bulletproof Design
Solid baseplate which I use with my Sony FS700. It's quite heavy but that's a good thing. Works great on tripod as well as part of my Redrock shoulder rig. Highly recommended.

Industry standard at this point
If you're using a DSLR, the one thing this won't do is disappoint. It's light and always delivers, and won't have you needing to buy the extra tripod mount platform for your system (which is way too expensive for just mounting it to a tripod) Sure it's a bit expensive, but it more than gets the job done and saves you that extra cash that you'd otherwise be spending on the baseplate attachment.

Solid Baseplate Solution
I use this product with the Sony FS100 with Metabones, Canon glass, and a Redrock Deluxe Shoulder Rig. I like the setup as it feels really solid and there is no slippage to the rail mounts on the baseplate.I will say that it is a bit heavy and overbuilt and could stand to be a bit smaller. Because of it's size it takes up a lot of real estate on the rails making lens support and follow focus a bit cramped.

Great - just know some things
this is great - particularly if you like to use zip tie follow focus rings on smaller diameter lenses. just know these two things:1. it's heavy2. the quick release system is not the traditional manfrotto quick release plate (for the 701, 501, 504, etc heads). it's SLIGHTLY larger. I brought an additional adaptor for $ dollars so i could use the same quick release as all my tripod heads3. it's long - you don't get quite as much band per inch of ra... Show More

Solid, dependable quality
When the gear you select directly influences the success of your career, you need to choose carefully. Solid, dependable quality is essential and Redrock Micro provides that. The microSupport Baseplate is the foundation item for a larger Redrock Micro system. It does what you expect it to do, and can be depended on to be reliable. You install it and forget it.

Great quality
I needed a 15mm rod support system when using the Century Xtreme fisheye on my Panasonic HMC150. I tried another brand originally that didn't fit properly and didn't seem that strong. I then went to the Redrock Micro Baseplate. Immediately it was obvious this was the best option - sturdy, easy to use and looks great. I needed a shim kit as well to adjust the height. It may be a tad heavier than other supports, but it's definitely much stronger. The quick release is very handy too.

Well Done!
I bought this baseplate to use with the micro shoulder mount system. It's my first baseplate so altough this is a bit heavy, I don't have enough arguments to compare. Any way, to my purpose works great because it comes with quick release system and at the same time I can mount it on my trippod that has quick release too.

Sliding Baseplate
I bought this baseplate to use it with the Sony FS100 and the microMatteBox. My first surprise was to know I didn't need the high riser (you will if you use a different matte box that doesn't adjust vertically.) The second, to check how solid (and heavy) is this piece. The baseplate (by Manfrotto, BTW) where the camera is attached can be adjusted forward or backwards at your convenience, a crucial feature in case, like me, you have a collection o... Show More

Excellent design and machining!
I've looked at nearly a dozen baseplates ranging in price from $95 - $1100 and found the RedRock microSupport to be the most well-made baseplate on the market. The baseplate comes with a universal Manfrotto quick release. There's nothing I don't like about it!

Too good to be true... but it's true.
This baseplate is truly excellent and stands at a great price. The thing I like most about it is it's plate that the camera mounts to; big and sturdy with great locking mechanism. I bought this for my AF100, but any DSLR or bigger body camera will fit snug too. This thing will last you forever.

Everything that I expected... But bigger
Well constructed; EXACTLY what I wanted for my HVX200 and AF100. A little expensive for the budget conscience, but you get what you pay for. Only con is that I expected it to take up less rail real estate, but I'll gladly live with that for the security of a tough mount that isn't likely to fail.

Awesome Value!
This is a great product for the money. Sure you can spend more to get basically the same thing from other company's but why. This works just the same and weighs less than many of it competitors.

Excellent baseplate
Excellent product by RedRock Micro, i think they are one of the best companies in terms of price/quality out there, one of the best choices for people who don't want or can't pay Zacuto or Arri prices but also need high quality equipment. This baseplate fits on standard 15mm rods and the built quality is excellent, very sturdy and heavy duty. It allows the camera to be adjusted horizontally on the plate from side to side. You can also adjust the ... Show More
