Decent, but not the best. Kensington Support is the worst.

Wireless refresh of winning design
This trackball is fantastic! The size & weight of the ball make it very easy to control - not twitchy like smaller trackballs. I use this for 8-10hrs each day and absolutely love it. Trackballworks software offers many helpful tweaks and customization to speed up your workflow. You can set up profiles for different applications for supreme app-specific controls which I adore. If I must find something to nit-pick then Mac users should know that the wireless trackball must be used with the wireless USB dongle. Hopefully it will be supported over Bluetooth soon.

Best version yet, but the scroll wheel is still loud
The scroll wheel is still loud and makes the usual grinding sound. If you touch the scroll wheel without even rotating it, it makes a pretty audible click sound. Everything else about this mouse is perfect. Wireless was easy to setup with Kensington Trackball Works software on a MacPro5,1 running Mavericks 10.10.5. I'd highly recommend it, but don't expect an improvement on the scroll wheel.

You Have To Love It
I have been using Kensington's Expert Mouse since 1999 and I just do not know why so many others have not made the change. It just simplifies my work flow. I do have issues every so often with scrolling only because after years of use things do wear. Kensington is pretty good with their warranty but this time I had to purchase a replacement because my mouse was in use 7 years.

Limited Mac Compatibility
I purchased this trackball along with a new Apple laptop. I also downloaded the Kensington trackball software for the Macintosh only to find that it does not recognize the trackball. According to Kensington support they have no plans on supporting this trackball for Mac users. With out sftware only 2 of the four buttons do work as does the scroll ring. Terrible OSX support
Running OSX Yosemite 10.10.5 1. I was not excited to find in the included user manual that you must use the USB wireless if you want to use Kensington's trackballworks app. These details aren't published on B&H or Kensington product pages. You may as well save $30 and buy the wired version instead of this. 2. Kensington states software compatible with OSX 10.10, which is not true in my case attempting to use Trackballworks on OSX Yosemite 10.10.5. Huge disappointment.

Not worth the upgrade w/o drivers for Windows10
As a happy user of the Kensington Expert Mouse, I was excited to see this new wireless model available. Much to my disappointment, the supplied trackballworks software does not recognize the trackball for setup on Windows 10. This problem is present both over bluetooth (currently using microsoft universal HID-device driver), as well as the provided 2.4GHz USB dongle. Still the best trackball
While this model is operationally identical to my 20 year old 4 button, it has a more modern look. It also comes with a wrist rest and it has a scroll dial which can be useful but it isn't as smooth as I would expect. There is a small learning curve and a lot of getting used to, but well worth the effort. Be careful of Carpel Tunnel Syndrome - just find the most comfortable wrist position and stick with it. If you start feeling uncomfortable change your position. Often the slightest change makes a world of difference. Once you use a large format trackball, you'll never go back to a mouse.

Great Trackball! Love the Customization!
This trackball is a solid, well build, professional piece of gear. I use it with Pro Tools. It has helped me scroll much faster and has given me more control over detailed changes in parameters. I love customizing the buttons options. Very helpful when using a DAW setup. I have had issues with my wrists in the past. This unit feels very good on my wrists.

Mouse-have it!
I've never had a track ball mouse before but i looked into buying one because of 1. Chronical wrist pain and 2. Limited work space. After almost 3 weeks of cross referencing and comparing many...many products, I got the Expert Mouse and it has met ALL of my expectations!!! Now I'm feeling less tension and less pain on my wrist and hand AND I have plenty of desk space for a warm cup of coffee! B&H also had the best price than the rest of 25+ stores online so, my decision to purchase a high-end mouse was easier thanks to the awesome price: it's a mouse-have!!!

Very user friendly
This is my second trackball, for a second computer. Suffering from carpal tunnel, this is the only mouse I have found that can allow me to work extended periods on time in front of a computer. The wrist rest does nothing for me. A bean bag type support is much better for me.

Great product
Have used the expert mouse since it was a two button trackball in the late 90s. this product has always been very good at allowing fine movements on screen. the only problems even encountered was the failure of the left button switch on my original mouse. also dust would enter the cavity and cause erratic behavior of the mouse. this problem has been eliminated with the use of the optical tracking system.

Why Would Anyone Use a Mouse?
I have a couple of these. My first computer was a Mac PowerBook with a trackball, and over the 20 years since then I have never learned to feel comfortable with a mouse. Essential for Editing
Finally got one on sale! I use this trackball primarily with Pro Tools for audio editing. For longer editing sessions, the large trackball and wrist rest help keep my wrist from getting strained! My only gripe is the scroll wheel... It's oddly stiff and loud.

Seriously...
I like trackballs and I read that this was one of the best... but the feel of the scroll ring ruins the entire experience. I like the idea of the scroll ring and properly implemented it would make this a slam dunk. but the haphazard sloppy grinding and catching nature of its movement is so agitating I went back to my mouse.

my favorite input device
I've been a fan of Kensington trackballs since the mid-90s with the Turbo Mouse. Eventually they die and I buy another. This Expert Mouse adds the scroll ring which is useful. I use a MacBook Pro and process tons of pictures in Lightroom/Photoshop. Still, a lot better than a mouse
I'm a little ambivalent - I've owned this very thing before. Great product
I used a Kensington trackball for years and years. This newer style and version is just as good as the older ones. The wrist pad is a nice touch. The fact that they are cheaper now than 5 years ago is an added bonus

Good but not great
I want to like this thing. As others stated its greatest shortcoming is the scroll ring, it sucks really bad. It's almost like it was designed to suck, with regularly spaced detents that make it an unsmooth scrolling experience. The actual trackball is great.
