Nice screen but lacks many features that it claims to have
Its okay, but could be way better. DJI definitely overstates its features. I've used mine with both the Inspire 2, Osmo, and Osmo Pro enough to give it a well thought out review. Needs major firmware work
Three weeks into my Crystal Sky use and approx 20 flights logged with it, and I'm returning mine. Too many bugs. Complicated to learn against iOS products. No simple way to copy screen shots and onboard auto record to external media. I literally had to use the internet browser to go to Google Drive to upload my screen shots. Since it's a wide screen, I'm guessing 16:9, when taking photos, it crops the screen, so you're only really getting about 4... Show More

Great little monitor
I'm using the CrystalSky with my Mavic, mounted on a Mavmount. The entire setup is very compact and perfect for travel. I considered getting the larger CrystalSky monitor, but in the end, decided that the smaller monitor was easier for travel. After all, that was the point of me getting the Mavic in the first place (I used to travel with an Inspire 1, and that was a separate piece of luggage itself). A must have
If youre a commercial drone pilot, youll need this. If youre a hobbyist drone pilot, then youll be fine with a tablet or phone. But doesnt mean you cant buy it. As a commercial drone op, I have experienced my phone/tablet over heating quickly in over 90 degree weather, making them useless. I literally carry an ice chest to put them in on hotter day jobs. Love it!
Awesome monitor, I can see everything now in the sunlight and I'm able to dial in my colors, focus, and aperture with ease. The only thing that really bothered me a lot that it didn't come with a charging cord. DJI assumes you have Phantom or Aspire and you can just you use that charge, I have a Mavic that that charger is not compatible so I went and had to buy a certain type of Osmo charge that had the same connection as the monitor. Pretty good but not great
Been using for a few weeks now with a Phantom 4 Pro and Mavic 2 Pro. Initial thoughts are that the screen is not as bright as hyped in direct sunlight - better than my iPhone 7 Plus, but not by a lot. Works really well in indirect sunlight though, and I have the DJI hood monitor which helps (also protects the screen very well). Works pretty well with the Phantom, but the Mavic is another story. Game changer for me
I bought this monitor because I have difficulty going from a hooded Ipad Mini 4 to the sky and back. My eyes just don't adjust to the light changes that well anymore. With the DJI Monitor, the brightness is at such a level that it made it easy for me to go back and forth, even with a fresh coating of show on the ground with the sun high in the sky at 1 in the afternoon on a clear day. Great Monitor
Bought the 7.85" High Brightness Monitor for my Phantom 4 Pro and Mavic Pro. This is a great monitor. Easy to see in the sun and so far works flawlessly with the DJI Go4 app. I also side loaded Pix4D Capture through an APK file. This app usually works but is also a bit glitchy. Sometimes gets hung up on liftoff. Would be a 5 star if it worked better with third party apps. I may try other apps to see if they work better. From what I've read and seen it looks like they are attempting to improve this so it should only get better in the future. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product.

OVERHEAT
Im user of one 7.85" Ultrabright and one 5.5". The smaller i made the update of the software and after that I start to recive some notifications in CHINESE... some time after that i made a research in internet and found that means a overheat in the screen. Some time after i bought the UltraBright ($1000) and dont made the update of the software... guess what? Start to overheat. NOBODY of DJI is telling us whats happen... i have $1600 in two screens and i cant use this! Sorry DJI, but i think you must to work better in your products before start release more and more and more.

Bright Screen
this monitor is great when flying outdoors, regardless of how bright it is the screen is well lit so you can see clearly. I would regularly fly with my iPhone 7, and now this is my go-to as it is a slightly bigger screen and better brightness. I have only used it for a couple of weeks and have not experienced any issues with the Go4 App. Im still learning to use the file transfer capability, but overall i am very satisfied with the product. Battery life is great, and it really isnt all that heavy once mounted on the controller (I'm using the PolarPro Flight deck monitor mount).

For drone pilots the CrystalSky display is the ultimate
See exactly what the drone camera sees in HD (720p?) even in bright sunlight with no display hood, and with virtually no lag time. This is a real game-changer for getting the exact shot that you want. It's a little pricey but, all things considered, worth every penny. I got the small version (5.5), and for the way I fly and take video, I would have no need for the larger versions. I use it for my DJI Mavic Pro. You may need to purchase a 3rd party display mount since at this time DJI does not have one for the Mavic controller. You will never regret purchasing this display!

if you have the money, buy it. The mount and this product make flying in bright Florida sun possible. Some reviewers want to go back to ipad or phone??? i do not think they fly in bright sun conditions. This product is not perfect, but it works extremely well for my phantom3 4K There was such a vision issue with the iPhone display in full sun I did not fly anytime I could not find shade. if you have a better product than my phantom 3 4K, definitely go with the jumbo monitor. Apparently my phantom 3 4K doesn't work with the bigger screen

Excellent little monitor
I was on the fence for a while whether it was worth the money to have an additional monitor and not just use my iPhone. Even though the iPhone does the job, its so much easier to use the monitor. From the brightness in the sun to the clarity of the screen. Its android but not that hard to use the interface coming from an Apple interface. I was getting calls on my phone while flying the drone so it would interrupt the flight but now I dont have to deal with it. I may end up getting the larger version too to have options! Would recommend.

So far so good
I bought this as a replacement for my older iPad Mini that I was using for drone monitoring. The iPad worked great on my P3P but when I upgraded to a P4P it just couldn't hack it.... not to mention it's not that bright. I considered getting the Ultra bright monitor, but held off since people were talking about it overheating. Been using this monitor for a little while now and it has been such a tremendous improvement. So bright and able to handle the video stream keeping me in solid control of everything while I'm flying.

Necessary add-on
After flying in cold weather with my phone (for 10 minutes), I realized I needed a better solution. This monitor is wonderful. It holds its battery in cold weather and the brightness is so much better than my phone. I was a little annoyed that it doesn't come with a charger or a mount, but even after the additional $100 or so this is still a cheap and very nice monitor. I highly recommend mounting it on the Mavic remote with the DJI Mavic Mount. It's nicely balanced with the remote and is easy to take on and off.

My first impression, wow this thing is more then I shouldve bought! I think the 5.5 wouldve been better. Using it for the first time I did run into a video feed issue but that wasnt the crystal skys issue. I was using a iPhone cord and it just didnt cut it. iPhone 8Plus is a better monitor
Worked 'well' only once. OS would hang up constantly. Artifacting and gliching rendered visual unusable. The lag time varied between fair to "I stopped and it has not". On the positive I could see it all happen well in direct sunlight. Why DJI is using a version of Android that they do not support, it seems as if they are embarrassed of this product as the update page is hard to find as well as the product page itself.

Great monitor
After months of reading reviews and several years of using Ipads of various sizes, the decision to buy the High-brightness crystal sky has turned out to be a good one. Works well with the Xt and P3 cameras, and with my Mavic Pro to reduce reflection and glare. I'm glad its not as heavy as I thought it would be and love the extra capacity of the 2 SD card slots. Buttons and placement is great and intuitive.

Doesn't work
I bought this for use with my Osmo Pro. The directions to connect it are an absolute joke, and theres almost ZERO info on DJI website. After connecting it, it would never recognize the camera and the screen would just stay black. I contacted DJIs terrible customer support and they had me update the X5 firmware, still nothing. great that this item is not returnable. DJI is garbage

In need for a long time.
Since the DJI series of quads came into being, working in the sun with a pad or phone was an absolute joke with a washed out screen or cumbersome monstrous sun shade that looked like you where carrying a house on top of your transmitter. Enter the Crystalsky, not perfect but great. Would have given 5 stars but it costs too much for something that will not make a call.

This Monitor is Great
This monitor is great. You can see it in the sun and bright outdoors. It is much better than a Galaxy S8+ or Apple Ipad pro. Check one out, you will not be disappointed. I was using mine at a car show and two other DJI owners could not believe it. They were both going home to order one. With B&H I had it the next day and no sales tax as I don't live in New York

Not for all the drones
I tried to use the monitor with my Inspire 1. I got a lot of lag in the video transmission and can't fly the drone safely in the air. I hope that DJI will upload an update for the monitor.. If not, don't buy this product for older drones that use the DJI Go 3 app. It's very useful and productive for using it with drones that fly with DJI Go 4 app.
