Great Lens for a Fair Price Considering Range and Quality
I recently reviewed this lens for my youtube channel SonyAlphaLab, and thanks to BHPhoto for letting borrow the lens! First off the build quality is excellent and the 105-525mm effective range is fantastic reach for a fairly lightweight lens. I had a blast using it and the image quality it pumps out is very good across the board. It's sharp corner to corner at all focal lengths as well, although it does have some distortion which is noticeable wh... Show More

Great lens!
Awesome lens! Right out of the box the lens looks and feels so solid! Honestly I was a little worried with the high f stops but Im so happy with the photos Ive been able to take even completely zoomed in. Cant wait for warmer weather to capture more spring time wildlife! Ive been using it paired with a Sony A6600 and what a great combo for shooting wildlife and far away subject, use it to capture my husky running at full speeds.

Great for wildlife!
I'm a biology student and I primarily use the lens for wildlife, particularly birds. The lens is sharp even at the extremes of its focal length. The light wight of the lens + a6000 make it comfortable to cary on long treks into the wilderness. I hope that Sony will make a teleconverter for their APS-C systems, occasionally I wish that It had just a little more reach.

It's not a reach, Sony nailed it
Great long lens for the Sony a6300 or other series camera. Excellent sharpness, color, and quick to focus. I had been near the point of selling my a6000, a6300, and four lenses until this came out. It finally gives the reach that I had hoped for originally to the smaller body cameras. If you've always wanted more from your a6300, this will help you get that.

Overall Excellent Performer
This relatively lightweight lens is an excellent optic provided there is ample light. So for daytime sport and wild life it is a good choice. I did find it soft at 350mm but fortunately was very sharp at 300 -325 so I elected to keep the lens. I compared it to my full frame 70-200 F4 and it was equal or better to that lens although not quite as contrasty.

Worth the wait.
The 70-360 lens is just what was needed in the Sony APS-C line of cameras. It works really nice on my A6500 and the AF is fast and it is sharp. I think the AF could be even faster with a firmware update to the A6000-A6500 cameras. The AF and sharpness is even better on my A7RIII in crop mode. I highly recommend this lens for a light telephoto combo.

Best Sony APS-C Zoom Lens yet!
I have a number of Sony crop sensor lenses and the Sony E 70-350 is excellent. I've had three bird shooting opportunities since the lens arrived and while still experimenting with different settings, a number of my images are quite sharp - something that I haven't been able to achieve previously - can't wait to get back out for more birding.

Great results coupled with the a6400.
Have used the lens for birds in flight with awesome results. Purchased the a6400 earlier for the birds, too. (Always B and H for my purchases!) Excellent clarity and catches the high speed wings of the birds. Sunrises and landscapes are excellent, too. Looking forward to the hummingbirds next year!

Sony adds a versatile zoom
For a zoom with a long range, this lens is relatively light and filled a need for a longer zoom. Used with Sony's 16-70 zoom, you can cover any photo situation with a couple of lenses (and you can add the 10-18 for extreme wide angle). So far, it has been an excellent nature and birding lens.

Holy telephoto Batman!
This lens is awesome for telephoto work! Super sharp images edge to edge. Even can manage as a portrait lens with some good light. Lens went on sale the next day but B&H refunded the difference with no hesitation. Eric D. in customer service deserves a raise! He's so quick with a reply.

Excellent lightweight wildlife
True colors, very fast autofocus, pleasant to walk with. For a plastic, extending design, the build quality inspires reasonable confidence. Low light performance and macro are better than expected. Sony lenses are expensive, but I think there is adequate value in this lens.

No complaints
Purchased for my wife who wanted something with a bit of reach for a beginner birder, not wanting to spend a ton but wanted decent glass. She has it paired with a 6400 and it works as it should, good long glass that want break the bank

Nice Upgrade!
So far so good. This has been a very nice upgrade from the entry-level Sony telephoto. More powerful zoom and better image detail and color. And I really appreciate B&H technical support for their help in making my purchase decision.

Fast focus, smallish, sharp
Nice lens, even though it would be considered a downgrade, it feels like an upgrade to my 70-300 G. Faster to focus, more range, lighter, smaller. Definitely more suited to an APC mirrorless.
