Contacted Sony to see why the AF illuminator on the hot shoe flash was not working. Come to find out, none of the hot shoe flashes produced by Sony that have AF illuminator lights will function with this camera, even though the flashes are equipped with an AF illuminator light. The Right Choice
After a week, I am pleased I made this choice. I often want a walk-around camera and this one is meeting my needs. Its a little slower to focus than Im used to for shooting moving targets, but I think I may just need more time to figure it out. Photos at the coast with the zoom were beyond my expectations. Crystal clear, beautiful color.

Len is Sharp, beyond belief
Unbelievably sharp optics. Purchased to compete with my Canon 100 ~ 400 mm II L. Between 500 & 600mm I feel it is sharper than my Canon 100/400 L. The one down side I find though is that the Sony does not record the last image shot as quickly as the Canon eos 5D Mk IV. For that reason I can only give it 4 stars. tpm

Sony Rx10 m3 problems, you will hate Sony Customer Service
I bought Rx10 m3 on July 31, 2016, but on March 24th, 2018 its stopped while I was taking pictures with my group of friends. i recieved my new camera a little over a week ago. Came fast and in perfect condition from B&H. Once you see where everything is inside the menu, its a learning curve but fairly easy if you're used to dslr style. Year and a half later, still love it.
This package is so light and versatile. My favorite near-pro camera is always in my car or in my hand on short walks. To just turn it and shoot when that owl is staring at you or that fox takes you by surprise, this is the one. EVF is so clear, especially using focus peaking when shooting through branches.

Excellent camera
I very much like the RX10 and am amazed at all it does. The only thing I would change (if it could be changed) is the weight. It is a bit heavy. But with the excellence of the lens and the zoom range, I suppose it must carry more weight. I would certainly recommend looking at this camera for those who wish for a one-lens outfit.

Beyond my wildest expectations.
For some years I've been trying to find a bridge camera that would satisfy my need for quality and versatility. I come from a background of Canon Pro gear but was looking for something to replace the cumbersome heavy equipment with. This Sony does just that. I find that all in all, I am getting more shots I like with this camera than I did with $50,000 worth of Canon. While my friends with the "big glass" are setting up for the shot, I've got it and the bird has moved on. I love this camera.

Great Camera!
This is the camera I have hoped for! This is what I hoped digital cameras would become; in my opinion a complete system without carrying around extra lenses. Truly a marvel to use, and I haven't gotten off of the manual setting. I'm probably using 20% of the camera's capability and I'm blown away with that.

Amazing but difficult to set menus
To get the most from the camera and to make your photography both easy and fun again, the menu System needs to be set CAREFULLY. Once done, it is a pure joy to use and it is easy. Great photos are possible with little effort. The zoom brings one up close and personal for just about any kind of photography. First outing was pure joy. Started with butterflies and was amazed at the detail. See picture. Negative side is battery does not last long but if you turn it off between shots, it lasts quite a bit longer. Great camera and images.

It must be great for me to handle the weight
I was sure I would never again buy a camera that weighed more than my previous Sony. But to get 4K video and a sealed camera, I had to give in. This camera has outstanding versatility and value for money
I am an amateur photographer. I use the auto settings exclusively. I recently purchased this camera and used it to video in 4K at maximum zoom. The result was crystal clear, smooth video. The still images are also excellent. The camera is rather heavy but beautifully balanced even at maximum zoom. I dropped it by mistake off the bed onto a concrete floor but not a scratch. It is built like a tank. It looks and feels very well made. I am about to tour a hot, dry, desert region in outback Queensland and I am confidant that it will handle the conditions perfectly. Worth every cent!

Better than expected!
had the camera for abourimentation,t a week now, but after initial experimentation, excellent results. Autofocus can be a bit on the slow side, but it gets there eventually. Good handling, acceptable weight, and intuitive layout. The menu is a bit daunting at first, but one can get used to it quite quickly. Focusing manually so far, is very awkward. the camera has an enhanced image to magnify the image to make it easier to focus but it bounces back and forth between the regular image and the magnified image which is very frustrating and time consuming.

Not for me
The camera seemed to be made well but the ergonomics did not suit me at all. The weight of the lens pulls the camera down as you zoom and the whole thing feels heavy and unbalanced. My pictures were soft no matter what I tried so this one went back.

Recommended without jesitation
A great camera for a reasonable price given all the top notch features and the Zeiss lens. Pictures were much better than I hoped and I love the range of zoom available. A winner!

A pretty nice camera that could use some fixes.
I bought this camera to try replacing my Canon 70D and multiple lens. I have a bad back and need to reduce the amount of equipment I carry. The lens is excellent and the camera does a good job for most tasks but has problems focusing at times especially in the 400 to 600 mm range at times. The menus are hard to navigate and somewhat disorganized. It would be really nice to have a touch screen.

Great Camera
After a long research and extensive comparison procedures, I decided for this camera. It is exactly what I wanted to buy. A nice and resourceful camera, good for travelling, family parties and offers all wanted by a serious photographer, but not professional like me. Once you get used to the menu and the many features, it becomes easy to find your way around. After just one day with this camera I was sure mine was a good choice. There are some books about this specific camera and it might be a good idea to read one of them in order to complement the original manual.

Be carful
After owning the Sony RX10 M3 for a week I returned it. The main reason is the zoom lens feature. I do mostly video and some photo shooting. There are a few things I did not like about the zoom. Very noisy when zooming in or out and the noise was picked up by the onboard microphone. So I install a shotgun mike on the hot shoe and had the same noise problem. Versitile Camera
I bought this camera for its terrific zoom lens which has an amazing range. I own a Canon III 5D. I bought this camera because I wanted a long zoom lens. Given the price of a comparable lens for the Canon, it was cheaper to buy the Sony.
