Just get it
I'm into this lens for a 4.5 stars. The only problem with this camera, yes the only problem is it's write speed to card. Yes, I have a Sony 45mps writ to speed so it's not the card, but the camera. This time is about 1 .5 secs. when waiting to shoot next picture it's seems forever. The color rendition is just perfect to what you see with your eyes and sharp as a tack. Really wanted a longer zoom, but I knew what it's limitations were before I got... Show More

Great Camera
I was looking for a camera that I could use for travel without carrying a bunch of extra lenses and at the same time being able to get good quality files. I've been testing this camera for three days and I like a new feature that I haven't used before: peaking, which is great for manual focusing. At this time the only inconvenience I have found is that my software can't open the RAW files, I can see the files with the Sony software, but for my wo... Show More

versatile professional camera
Best camera I've owned in 50 years. Possibly the most versatile video/still camera ever. Intuitive features like the auto switch when going from LCD to EVF viewfinder, programmable buttons, constant f2.8 aperture, (critical for video) great steady-shot quality, audio inputs, high dynamic range (Ansel Adams button) for high contrast subjects, wi-fi, smart phone remote control. Got a great used deal from B&H on a mint camera. Also own the RX 100 II... Show More

Absolutely unreal
Quality of construction, ease of use, and image quality of the RX10 are all top notch. By far the best fixed-lens camera available right now, no contest. I've owned several digital point & shoot / entry level DSLR cameras, and the RX10 blows them all away. Constant f2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range allows versatility and a wide range of shooting options without the inconvenience of carrying multiple bulky lenses. Macro photography has wonde... Sharp Images
First thing I did was a test to compare sharpness with other cameras I own (compact Canons, Leica d-lux). The features are easy to figure out and navigate and the ones I like to use are easy to access (+/- exposure, setting f-stop/shutter combination). I like how the view screen tilts - I took some macro shots with the camera right on the ground. So far the perfect camera for me - a step up from compact, but not the bulk of a SLR. The only proble... Show More

Fantastic & Fun Camera
What a cool little camera! It has outstandingly easy to use video that looks as good, if not better (probably better) than my 5D3. Its WAY easier to shoot video thanks to the peaking, AF, zebras and EVF than my Canon too. Video is implemented the way Canon should have on their kit. The RX10 is the PERFECT companion to my Sony NX70 camcorder also, larger sensor with better control of DOF and the RX10 shoots outstanding stills for those times when ... Show More

Amazing Camera
I've been a long-time user of a well-known DSLR camera. I'm incredibly impressed with the equally high quality of the RX10 images and the versatility of the camera without having to haul around 20 pounds of additional glass. The RX10 provides macro, wide angle, and telefoto in one compact Zeiss lens. The constant f/2.8 wide aperature provides great flexibility for low light conditions, even at 210mm equivalents. As yet another great bonus, the vi... Show More

Cinematic Look
From a videographer's point of view the Sony RX10 is a different product and as such must be consider. The lens is top-notch and exceptionally flexible .. also the quality of the videos it delivers is great and well above the compact bridge cameras from its own segment (and better than many DSLR's sold with cheap lens as well). Even if you are considering to buy a Canon or Nikon's DSLR body... you still have to spend another $1000 for a comparabl... Show More

f2.8 does not mean what you think
It is a solid camera and XAVC-S is a good codec. I really wanted this to be a dslr replacement, but it has a few flaws that I could not overcome. The compact camera form factor is fine and it is a sturdy build all around, except for the rear LCD. That absurdly flimsy hinged contraption is the first problem. The motorized zoom is great, and the manual focus option is as well, but it really needs a manual zoom ring/mode. Finally, I was aware the se... Show More

Wi-Fi is a piece of junk...
...garbage, trash, you pick your expletive. Trying to set it up and getting it to work amounts to a useless waste of time and smartphone battery life. The codes alone are so OCD that it will take forever just to establish the connection. And then there's the actual transmitting. Simply imbecile, as it doesn't really allow you to simply transmit an image to your smartphone. Rather, you need to download this goofy Sony app, then upload images and m... Show More

The Perfect Camera
As a professional photographer, I had been married to the Canon camera system for many years. However, as I got older and most of my images were being used on websites and social media, I felt the need to alleviate the heavier equipment for the lighter RX10 which has proven to be a smart move. The images are crisp and sharp. The camera is fast and the stabilizer is incredible, particularly when shooting video in a hand held situation. I am still shooting the RX10 after five years and have recently added a RX 10 MK III to my arsenal. My images can be seen on Instagram at richardryanj.

Very pleased - so far
This was purchased to replace my Panasonic GH2... I've only had this camera for a couple of weeks - I am an Event Videographer, and bought this to shoot parts of wedding videos such as bride's preps, and for some high shots on a raised monopod during a reception. As long as you're aware of the 29 minute limitation as far as length of a single clip, it works very well. I will also use it as a still camera to capture much higher resolution stills for my disc faces, dvd liners, website, etc. Overall, with only a small amount of test footage shot, I'm very impressed at this early stage.

Awesome camera. Great photos and video.
I was looking for an alternative to lugging around my full-sized DSLR and lenses. I had begun to notice that I was leaving my camera behind due to it being cumbersome, but I realized I was missing great photo opportunities. I wanted a camera capable of producing full sized prints with a fast lens. This camera provides both. The bonus is that it also produces high quality video. Better than a super zoom, it's sensor is capable of capturing photos you can print out rather than only display on a monitor. I've printed out 13 x 19 inch prints and they are of high quality.

Very nice camera
I bought this because I was looking for something between the noisy 1/2.3 sensors of the megazooms and lugging my D800s with lens arround all day. Like my other Sony, (DSC HX-300) it takes really nice shots with a bright, fast lens. The Sony controls and operations take some getting used to, especially if you're accustomed to Nikon or Canon, but once you master them it's a breeze. The only negative is the limitation of a 200mm zoom, but as long as you are aware of that going in, it's not a major impediment. Really nice, clean pictures.

Excellent camera!
Used this camera on a Washington DC trip with my 5th grade son. Pictures for his scrapbook project for school were excellent. Many other dads on the trip were begging to borrow my pictures because they saw that I was getting pictures in low light that they just couldn't get with their DSLRs and kit lenses. The lens on this camera is the #1 feature of it. Love the videos that it delivers. Image stabilization allowed me to get pictures from a moving bus that would have been a blurry mess on my Nikon D7000.

Getting old. Just what I need
I am a semipro photographer. I shoot with a Canon 7D and 5DII. I use only L glass. My shoulders started to ache,so I started looking for a walk around alternative. this fit the bill in most cases. I do a lot of low light shooting in jazz clubs. with a flash it is almost comparable with my 7D. Without,it leaves something to be desired at 3200. Both my 7D and 5D II are great at 6400. With a smaler sensor, this is to be expected. When I'm not doing work for money, this is what I will walk with.

Just what I wanted
As a 30 year plus professional photographer I was looking for a bridge camera as the arthritis in my back and hips was making my bag of Dslr and prime lenses just to heavy to hike and ski with. Although this is not a DSLR level camera my gallery sales have not skipped a beat. This camera will do most anything I need for my fine art landscape work with so much less stress on me. This has allowed me to continue to pursue my passion when I was faced with the real possibility of not.

Outstanding Groundbreaking Camera
Super image quality, even high ISO of 3200 is crisp and clear. Video has to be seen to be believed, amazing HD quality. Superb 24-200 Zeiss lens, great range, fast constant f/2.8, did I mention SHARP! Built like a tank, no lightweight here, a quality chunk of technology. Very versatile, customizable buttons galore, or put it on Auto and shoot without worry. A go anywhere, do anything answer, with quality optics, sensor, lens and build quality. Highly Recommended.

A Pleasure to Use!
Every type of photo or video I take with this camera turns out great. I bought it several months ago, but have reviewed it only now due to an extended trip I took with it. It is easy to learn, and the best way to learn is experimenting. There are still features that I have to learn, even after a month's vacation with it! The lens is magnificent, and the image quality superb. If toting around several lenses with a DSLR is not for you, then this camera is!!

Very nice colors and detail
The camera feels just right in terms of size and weight. Focusing is fast and the shutter is noticeably quieter which is a plus in in areas or situations requiring silence. Photos come out crisp, have good contrast and the colors are excellent. The zoom ring takes some getting used to and is a bit slow but shouldn't be a concern except with sports or action shots. The camera is a bit pricey but if you can get past that then it's quite a gadget.

Do NOT overlook this camera!
An incredibly versatile camera with a great lens/sensor combo. I've had a number of DSLR's and Micro 4/3rds cameras, and this is the most amazing digital camera yet for me. Everything I want on a fairly compact package, without the hassle of carrying and changing extra lenses. Prints a gorgeous 12X18 300 dpi image without any re-sizing on my Epson R3000. Not just a camera that does it all - it does it all well.

Disappointed in Lawrenceville
The RX-10 is a nice still and live action camera. However, it should be more than that. I have an old R-! and the RX-10's still picture capabilities, while at a higher megapixel level, are mot appreciably superior to the ten year old R-!. Also, the the auto focus on the RX-10 is sluggish and the body, apart from the heft of the lens, has a plastic feel to it. The camera is a bit of a disappointment.

New RX-10
Having researched a while before buying, I was not surprised by the camera. The only thing that I can say is that the lens moves when no in power. Just a slight bit, but it is strange. everything seems to work okay other than that idiosyncrasy. shots and video of my grandkids in low light came out well. I am a professional videographer, so well has a different meaning for me than most.
