Extremely Disappointed
I rated this with two stars because the one-star rating says 'I hate it', and the word 'hate' is silly referencing a camera. I was enthusiastic when I ordered because I was looking for a camera that would produce better results than my iPhone, and I thought the APS-C sensor alone would accomplish that goal. The comparison with my iPhone XR is woefully inadequate. A friend has a Sony RX 100 VI, and I've been very impressed with the images she has produced with that camera, so I will wait until the VII is introduced shortly before attempting to upgrade again.

Small and handy
I have not tried the video portion, but the point and click picture quality is outstanding. The low light feature is also a very handy tool and it wasnt even my present! LOL

Quality
I bought this camera in order to shoot my sisters graduation and I am pretty disappointed in how the pictures turned out. The quality is nothing like that of a $400 camera. I took better photos on my iPhone. The wi-fi capability also did not work. Loved B&Hs customer service, the product just was not good.

Picture quality
Bought this camera for my sisters graduation. While loading the pictures to the computer I noticed the picture quality was definitely not that of a really expensive camera. Not only that, but the internet feature did not work. A little disappointed.

LOVE IT
First camera. Have had many since. I have enjoyed none of them as much as the a5100. Small, light, no viewfinder, nice screen, good audio, nice picture and more. Im still waiting for a comparable upgrade in 2019.

Quirky, but meets my needs and lots of fun to play with.
I love my Nikon D700, but found that I was taking more pictures with my iPhone simply because I didnt want to lug the bag everywhere. Limited
The camera I s great for vlogging. The flip screen is perfect for vlogging. The still photo setting has a 2 and 10 second delay. It cannot be removed. If you wanted to do more than vlogging I suggest a600 or a6300.

Nice and Small, Good Photos
Was looking for an alternative to a DSLR when not wanting to carry a big camera. The large sensor gives excellent low light picture quality just like a DSLR, the size is nice and small. Its light and inconspicuous. Only minor issue is the kit lens is a little soft in the left corners. 16mm is nice and wide, wish it went to 70mm but then it would be larger. Very good and exactly what I was looking for.

Cool Travel Camera
I bought this camera for my wife. I usually use Nikon with big lenses, but I tried this Sony a5100 , a very cool camera especially on travels. Now only with Sony I travel.

Previous version was better
A little bit disapointed. I had the previous version the NEX 5 It looked better, screen bigger, and with manual zoom. This one has a Digital zoom, which makes it feel " cheap " and anacurate. Was expecting better. Photo quality is OK. Wifi photo extremely slow. Not a big fan at all !!

Dont count as a pro camera for videos-too much overheating
I bought it for use with the gimbal Zhiyun Crane, because of the video in 1080 60p. But always when I'm using at work, it superheats. Unfortunately I'll have to buy another model.

Good picture quality but frustrating to use.
My point and shoot camera stopped working and I was looking for another one to replace it with. I found this camera and since it was so small, I thought I'd give it a try. Light and capable camera
Great little camera. Makes pics as good or superior than Canon 80D in a tiny package. Would buy it again for sure. Only downside (for me) is processing time after taking a long exposure. Too long. Other than this, just awesome. For vloggers, this is the ticket.

I love the size and weight, and in the right circumstances it is an ideal camera. As far as the LCD goes, it is very frustrating to use in the outdoor sunlight; indoors or in the right situation, it is very useful, but I think a viewfinder would be better all-around, even though that would increase the weight and size (I guess that would be the reason to choose the a6000). I have the a6000 and wanted a similar model with slightly different features for indoor group pics. The a5100 fits the bill. I can dedicate the a6000 to landscape work.

the wheel button too sensitive
whenever i slightly touch the wheel button it changed the setup and i had to undo it. it was annoying.

Great Little Camera.
Great little camera at the price. Takes excellent photos and the XAVC video matches very well with my Sony FS5. My wife loves the selfie mode.

Good camera
IQ is the same as the A6000. I currently have an A6300 but bought this as a supplemental camera so that i could travel lighter. The only negative thing I have found is the lack of an EVF and having to use the menu system for everything. But, I knew about these drawbacks going in.
