Use this for Photography
I use this adapter for wireless triggering of my camera, a Pentax K-50. The adapter goes straight into the camera, connects through a 3.5mm male to male cable to a Cactus V5 sitting in the camera's hotshoe. I use another Cactus v5 to wirelessly trigger the camera's shutter. This adapter makes it possible.

Not the best adapter
The base of the 2.5mm tip is a little too big to fit in the small allotted slot on the GH2 mic jack. I sanded it down a bit and it first perfect except now for some reason my mic with a 3.5mm jack is loose when pushed into the adapter from the female side.

Works, as long as it fits into your camera
If you can get the adapter into the 2.5mm hole, youre golden. Only annoyance is that on my camera, the hole is recessed, and the size of the adaptor makes it hard to press in. This wont be an issue on all camera though.
