If you use the (only) supplied lead (RCA/Phono plug) it worked but if you left the TV sound on Mute for any length of time the soundbar went to sleep.. The manual acknowledges this and recommends a TV volume setting above 50% and using the soundbar remote for Volume control. However this is impossibly loud even with the Soundbar on minimum vol setting!! Can't adjust sleep timer function so, not workable for me.

Well to be honest I am discusted with argos I found I was unable to connect the 2sound bars too my Samsung Smart TV which I bought from argos when I tried to return both hitachi sound bars to exchange with a Samsung sound bar which I found out too my cost is the only type I can use. When I tried to exchange the bars I was told that argos will not give me the exchange as I had plugged them into the electric beware

Hitachi Sound bar
Recently purchased the hitachi 120 sound bar, as have to wear hearing aids, but don't like them in when watching tv in evening, since acquiring this sound bar it is a life saver, could barely hear tv before, and now it's fantastic, (don't even need to have volume full blast, which previously I did and still could not hear) i strongly recommend this item, it is truly amazing and I have no problem giving this 5/5

Good product
The sound quality and bass at a reasonably not too high level starts to distort with music due to only being multiple speakers adding to 120W, good quality sound for movies and general tv watching, slim and sleek With simple plug and play, easy to work, was up and running within seconds of being removed from packaging, could be better priced maybe £10-15 cheaper for what ya get. Overall, happy with the product

Hitachi sound bar/bluetooth
A great piece of kit for the price! Straight out the box connected to my phone via Bluetooth and I was impressed by the sound quality. Of course its only as good as the sound source so play high quality mp3 files etc and you will be pleasently surprised. if possiable use the optical input over the audio left/right. and make sure you place the bar on a firm solid surface or you will get vibrations from the bass.

Second time lucky
I had tried a more expensive sound bar but was very disappointed and was going to give up as there was no apparent upgrade in quality of sound. Then my brother suggested this as he had just perchased one so I gave it a go. It is great and extremely loud. Sound quality is excellent and it took me less than 5min to set up including unpacking it. The only down side is the remote looks cheap but it all works great.

Great soundbar for the price
We got this for my dad's birthday and he is really happy with it for the price. His flat screen TV had terrible sound so I suggested this to him as the reviews looked good. The sound is very clear and much better than I expected. It can also go up quite loud. He can also play music from his ipad through it via bluetooth which is a bonus. The setup was easy and he had it up and running in about 10 minutes.

good value soundbar
Given the pricing of this item, it is very good value. It was easy to set up and an optical cable was offered separately in a deal. I have only used it with that cable connected to my LG television. I did not realise how weak my TV speakers were until I used this. It definitely enhances the sound. I am very pleased with this product. If you wish to boost the sound of tv speakers this is an ideal purchase.

My sound bar looks sleek and sounds crisp
It's an easy setup, with a sleek design. It comes with a remote which is helpful but can be controlled by the tv remote if you have set the sound bar to the tv. It has a aux port which will enable you to connect your devices to it. It is also Bluetooth which come in very handy. The sound is provides is immaculate! I can't fault it, even when the volume is up to the max it still delivers a great sound

Good sound and looks nice
Good sound for the price and looks nice, only drawback is the remote...when I got it home and set up the remote didn't work, i arranged for a replacement, got the replacement the next day with no issues or stress, got it home and it worked perfectly.....for one day!!! So now I have to get up to change the volume and/or mode settings!!!! They need to upgrade on the remote....otherwise a good product.

Better sound than just using the TV
Bought this to go with my Hitachi TV. The sound on the TV wasn't great but with this it's miles better. One annoying thing is that it switches off if you have the sound low, that's the sound turned down so you can still hear it, for a period of time, around 15 minutes. Coined the get the Bluetooth to work on it either, despite trying different things but haven't checked the website for help yet.

Works great for a low cost sound bar.
I only wanted a slight boost in performance compared to TV speakers. This sound bar does just that. The quality of sound is great for price value and it adds a bit of boom with bass (great for gaming) Bluetooth is easy to setup and as a stand alone Bluetooth device I'd recommend it. Overall great value for money but not recommended for people that want high quality performance or quality.

excellent value and quality
this sound bar is excellent value and very good sound quality...... although I purchased a visual lead.... which was advised to me by the instore machine... which I purchased....... got both of them home.....and set the sound bar up..... THE OPTICAL LEAD DID NOT FIT THE SOUND BAR AT ALL...... WASTE OF TIME AND A SECOND WASTED JOURNEY......but besides this the whole system is excellent quality.....

Looks good and sounds good
Very easy to set up, I'm not great with technology but I had it set up and working in under 10 mins. Really good sound, i just needed something better than the TV speakers which were really tinny sounding, this fits the bill perfectly. My only small issue is, there is no visual indicator as to what the volume it's on, so when turning it on just as a show starts it can sometimes be quite loud.

Great sounding sound bar
This Hitachi sound bar is a little gem. It really improves the sound of my Hitachi TV. Its not as good as premium brands, but serves its purpose well. Setting up is easy. Pairing to a Bluetooth device is easy too. The sound is crisp and is great for TV or music. Only downside is it is advertised as 120 Watts, but in reality, it's only 30. Bear this in mind. Good sound and good value for money.

Brilliant value for money
I was rather pleasantly surprised by this product. The value for money is brilliant! Bluetooth’s a little fidgety but works as expected and the audio is clear with a good frequency response. Again, for the price it is brilliant but certainly doesn’t stand up to other higher end (and price) products. Would be nice to see a short Optical cable in with it but I’m just being fussy there.

Overall good value
Only had head phone connection included so I had to buy right angled connector cable to get maximum benefit from the sound bar. The audio sockets on the sound bar do not have a lot of clearance from the base of the sound bar, (the cable connector is inserted in an upward direction), so, I couldn't use a standard audio connector and I spent ages browsing the internet to find something suitable

Looks good, sounds great.
I bought the Hitachi soundbar to improve the sound quality of my TV and I have not been disappointed, the sound quality is excellent. The soundbar is very easy to set up, it comes with a remote control, mains adapter and a 3.5mm to RCA stereo audio cable which plugs into the headphone socket of the TV, as well as easy to follow instructions. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Loud sound bar
With this sound bar it sounds like I have a cinema in my house. I sit and watch movies with the sound bar on and pretend I am at the cinema. I put the music channel on and the sound bar and it's like I am at a disco the floor vibrates in the same way all I need is lights. It's a good size and weight not to big not to small and not to heavy. It's super easy to set up. Took me about 5 minutes.

Technika TV and sound bar
Sound quality on my Technica TV has never been very good.The volume on some programmes would not go high enough either, particularly on recently made British dramas.This soundbar was recommended to us as being inexpensive and of good quality.It is superb, simple to fit, easy to adjust, looks good and has solved my quality and sound level problems.This is definitely a best buy. All round excellent product
I brought a different make and cheaper after two week of using it just refused to work I only had the box none of the packing. Took it back with everything else and the excellent staff no worries. I paid the extra need for this sound bar, and I was out of the shop within 10 minutes. What more could you want. Not only would I recommend the product but recommend the excellent after service.

For the money it's grand ..seems good quality ..the sound is fine if you turn it up to the max but it's only just average..better sound that's the hitachi TV though that's for sure.. Vey compact ,good wattage out of the speakers easy to,set up but not very clear.. Still for half the price of the nearest sound bar it's not bad at all..plus it has Bluetooth which is great for playing music

Great sound at a great price
I bought this to improve the sound quality of my new Hitachi 55" TV which I was told would need the additional help and it has certainly done that. The set-up took seconds and the sound quality is fantastic.People have said that the light is off putting but I personally focus on the tv itself so I never found it a problem. The Bluetooth connectivity is simple so all-in-all a great buy.

Excellent purchase and quality too
well I purchased this item as it was offered in the sale for an excellent price, went home and set it up it was very easy to connect up following the simple setup instructions, worked fine with no problems.. excellent sound came from it, Bluetooth worked easy also from my computer and was once again a great sound, a nice looking sound bar too, very pleased with my purchase, many thanks
