Okay but there’s better
Product was okay when it wanted to work I have the OG oculus rift and thought I’d get the S so I didn’t have to have the external sensors. the built in sensors don’t keep track of the controllers well at all compared to the external sensors I think the downgrades they have taken such as lowering the framerate and the new ‘headphones/speakers’ on them ruin it a little even if you can plug in your own headset In my opinion I think sticking with the original oculus rift is a better choice

Rift S = 90% of premium VR at half the price
I’ve had the CV2 and Vive but this time around opted for the Rift S due to its inside out tracking, functionality and cost. I can’t fault it really, tracking is better than my Vive with lighthouses and just better in every way. I wouldn’t ‘upgrade’ unless I had a very high end pc and VR was something I was heavily in to (a developer or enthusiast) for example. Overall, if you want something to plug in and be amazed with minimal fuss and will run on normal hardware then get this.

dissapointing
Bought Xmas gift for son age 15 4days later still cannot play. 1st the adapter not compatible with pc, had to wait till Boxing Day for shop to open, 2nd currys PC world !!!! Didn’t have wot we needed, had to order off amazon, ridiculous when pay so much money for something for it not to be compatible with a PCyear old and have to spend more money , 3rd oculus is struggling to download onto PC apparently a huge problem at mo so waste of money and disappointment to my son, this may be going back!!

RIft S is amazing, but not perfect
I Had a CV1 before this that had endless issues, this has been fantastic overall but has some major issues. majority of headsets have a white static flash that appears for a split second every now and then, also a lot of headsets have lag when you push the buttons on the controller. Latest patch apparently fixes these but not tested yet. The product itself is great apart from the issues mentioned, the inside out tracking works really well and is far more easy to setup than the original rift.

A great cheap VR solution!
I bought this headset for my YouTube gaming channel. Looking to upgrade my content :) it works great as a functional headset, playing games smoothly, tracking reasonably well and feeling great. My warnings with this headset come with the microphone inbuilt. I was hoping the quality would be much, much better. This for me is where it lacks hugely. But I managed to find my own alternative which works way better than the inbuilt mic. So that's what I'll stick with. Not a be all and end all. Enjoy!

NOT HAPPY WITH ARGOS!!
The item was great however the service from Argos was terrible! I ordered this item and after 3 days (light use) their was noticeable scratches on the lenses from wearing my glasses even though Oculus doesnt mention anything about needing lenses protectors if you wear glasses. After returning my headset to the store for a new one because of the scratches Argos, Dunfermline gave me ANOTHER second hand unit instead of a new one, SO as their was no more new headsets I had to go for the full refund.

Great experience once you get used to it.
The product is great once you get used to it. If you purchase one understand you might get motion sickness depending on the method of movement but there's still so many games/experiences where this isn't the case and you can adapt with enough brain training over time. The games can also be a bit pricy but steam has pretty easy integration into their stuff. You just have to separately download their client. If anyone is on amd you may have driver issues with newer drivers with Pistol whip.

Rift S is amazing
I've been using the old Oculus Rift for the past 2 years on my professional racing simulators and it's been brilliant with the slight issue that some distance stuff is a bit blurred. The Rift S is noticably clearer, & more immersive to use. The controllers and the VR hands you get are really impressive and fun. Not that I use those features for my uses. The display is my main requirement and it's a good step forward, plus the ease of setup is a good step forward as well as the see-thru feature.

Works great. Had software issues during setup.
Looks great ingame & tracking works well. Had issues with setup. Software doesn't work well on a second drive. Games download but fail to install, complaining about antivirus blocking installation. To get around this I had to uninstall the software, run setup using CMD with the argument '/drive="DRIVELETTER"', download 7GB to get it to install everything on the second drive, then run setup again and click repair to download ANOTHER 7GB just to fix it. Ridiculous, but it works fine now.

Excellent experience
Comming from the original Rift I was excited for this product. After a few hours use I was pretty down as the tracking was terrible. A recent update has changed all that and I'm so happy I purchased the Rift S. All round ease of setup and the price compared to other VR systems makes this a clear winner. Raceing sims and fps shooters are a joy to use with this and loads of free content in the oculus store to get you started. Only negative comment I have is sound but you can use your own headset.

Not great in my opinion...
If you haven't played on the original rift of vive this may be ok for you. It works ok, it much easier to stup, than the original rift, however tracking is very poor compared to original rift or vive in my opinion. Sound quality of the built in headphones is terrible, I've had better Poundland headphones, even my mobile phone on speaker is better. Product returned as unable to play the games I bought with original rift due to the poor tracking and awful sound. Argos 5 stars, product 0 stars.

Fantastic entry point to VR.
The headset was quick and easy to set up. There's an end user friendly approach at explaining how it works and how to define a safe play area. Free minigames with the accompanying software helps provide an intro to using VR. The build quality is fantastic. Headset and controllers feel sturdy however they will eat through AA batteries. If you dislike the cable hanging down your side, you can guide it through the strap that runs along the top of your head to have the cable stay behind you.

Works flawlessly
I have to admit this is a very good product. SD effect is barely noticeable, text readability is very good. I haven't experienced any screen flickering issues at all (some youtubers mentioned them). I only had some tracking issues but after downloading and updating the USB3 driver these issues completely gone (note that Windows 10 can tell you that your USB drivers are up to date but you might need to check the manufacturer of your USB3 chip and download the latest drivers from their website).

Great hardware but still a lack of quality games
This was my first experience of modern VR. The tech itself is superb. Its extremely easy to setup with just a couple of cables, the tracking is spot on, the picture clear and the included controllers are intuitive to use. I'm less convinced with the available games which tend to be short and quite expensive. It's a fun toy but VR still feels like a gimmick. You could probably finish all the essential games in a couple of weeks and I can see this not getting much use when the novelty wears off.

Generally excellent revision to the standard Rift
I upgraded from my Rift, and it's great for my small bedsit. Out-of-the-box roomscale, without needing external sensors. The fit is comfortable and image quality is a superior. God rays are much reduced and the image is sharper due to the higher resolution. Tracking is generally excellent, but games that require you to put your hands close to your face can be problematic (archery, boxing, aiming 'down the sites' guns) but expect driver/software improvements. Overall I'm very happy with the S.

Nice Upgrade from CV1
certainly an improvement over CV1 pros - easier setup, less cables - higher quality display (better/crisper images) - more comfortable fit and easier to adjust - cable is about longer at 5m, just about enough length for my setup. some things to be mindful of, - usb ports used can really make a difference, initially it feel like my head movement wasn't tracking well. solve this by plugging the usb into my rtx graphics card usb c port - sound is basically awful, get some earphones

Oculus Rift Sucks
So, the idea of it is amazing and I love the product. It was comfy and easy to use and easy to set up. There are 2 issues. I have WiFi signal boosters that sometimes messed up tracking. The biggest issue is the cable. While long and strong, it wasn’t really good for a PC. This type of cable demands too much from one USB port and often overloads the headset causing my PC to shut down certain other USB ports like the HDMI and causing the headset to shut down every 20 minutes. DONT GET THIS.

Complications getting started, but sooooo worth it
Bought for my son as a Christmas present, but have used it quite a lot myself. Setup was guided by a setup wizard, but kept failing to detect the motion sensors. Multiple possible fixes included changing the video card BIOS, USB 3.1 drivers, changing USB power settings and reinstalling various drivers. Got there in the end and well worth it - amazing having virtual environments that are super-realistic. Resolution is good enough and the speed of response is helped by a decent graphics card.

A game changer
So Iv had the oculus rift touch before this and I have much enjoyed my experience with oculus so far. After some bigging around I decided to upgrade to the rift S It has its good points and bad points but I belive all things do. Good -inside out tracking has been polished off. -ergonomic and comfy design. -good port for steam VR -only requires 1 USB and 1 HDMI Bad -still has a fair few bugs -finding drivers for the recommended specs are difficult. -Head phones and Mic

Too flawed for me to keep.
Set up appears easy, however the software was problematic and it often lost contact with the headset. Restarting the computer often, during set up helped, but was not mandated. The implementation was ultimately flawed with it only working once unplugged and plugged back in, every time I started the computer. The digital IPD adjustment was not effective which caused me issues - moving the images doesn’t help with where the lenses are, it just forces your eyes together/apart. Returned.

Inside out tracking is the future of VR
I had previously been put off of getting a VR headset like the vive (which I had previously tried and loved) due to living in a rented property and not wanting to deal with mounting base stations. The Rift S has inside out tracking and requires no base stations, this removes the barrier I had, reduces the set up time immensely and allows for moving rooms with ease. I have yet to notice any difference between tracking using base stations and inside out tracking, this is the way forward.

Argos sold me a used product then wouldn't change
Bought for my son for xmas, realised when home I got the wrong one as it wouldn't work on his computer as it wasn't hdmi it was displayport. I needed the quest that was wireless. 3 days later took it back to exchange for the quest bit they said no return as it had been used. It wasn't even compatable with my sons so there was no way it could have been and it was an xmas present. So therefore all I can say is Argos sold me a second hand item. Check your goods, will not shop here again!

so glad i got this
as a fan of original oculus was torn between rift s and quest, having already got the PC decided on the S so glad I did, so easy to set up , though new tech don't expect to much from the cameras the picture is fuzzy black and white but if you look at review on well known video platform this was expected, but still awesome to have a head set on look around the room and have a usable screen (even tried to eat food with it on messy but worked .). if you got the pc then go for this one ..

The headset is amazing.
I had a few ups and downs with starting it up. Be sure to plug the USB in first into a 3.0 slot (has the blue connection inside of the USB port) and then the DP connection into your graphics card. If you get the issue I had then just unplug them for 5 seconds and replug them in that order. Don't leave it in all the time either. I noticed after rebooting the pc it had messed up after a restart and I had to recalibrate. It doesn't happen every time but it can. Highly recommended product
