Pretty darn good - especially for backpacking
I'd give this 5 stars if it had a larger sensor and was a tad lighter. But otherwise this has been an amazing camera. I upgraded from a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 and am very happy. The noise seem slower, the image sharper and I picked up extra reach on the lens. I will be using this mostly for backpacking. It allows me to leave the big DSLR and lenses behind while still giving me excellent images.

Extraordinary Camera - Very Satisfied
Well, I could not see spending this much for a travel camera however I bit the bullet and bought this after having disappointing experiences with two copies of the Panasonic FZ1000 which I returned due to lens quality issues. Outstanding travel camera and backup to pro camera.
Pricey but worth it. Awesome image quality up to 1000 ISO; not bad at higher ISO's; equal or better than most APS-C sensor cameras at lower ISO's I am convinced. It beat out my Nikon D7100 as my go to camera when street walking all day; not small, but much lighter, plus wide to super zoom. No extra lenses needed. Fine backup for my Nikon D750. Might keep the D7100 for longer reach with my 500mm lens for serious bird shooting. And the Nikons have better autofocus.

Birders beware.
I bought this for the long zoom for birding. But what good is it if the pics you get with that long zoom aren't good? Feather detail is lost and the noise is very high. I spent so much time in post getting rid of excessive noise and sharpening feathers and even then it didn't look good. I would buy this camera again
I have used it for photos of my dog and other dogs and scenery. I have had problems when changing the battery. First time I put a battery in there was no problem. Sometimes I have to pop the battery down hard for the blue piece to go over the top and lock it in.

Very good but with some serious flaws
The positives are there: great sensor, lots of control options, super zoom, compact compared with a dSLR The negatives are significant: heavy compared with other super zoom all in ones, expensive, auto focus is truly awful, long telephoto shots are always soft. Lots of complaints about the menu interface, but imo they all have issues, it's just what you're used to.

Plus: most pics are good, but not dSLR good. Good low light performance. Wide zoom range is useful. Lots of control options. Lighter and smaller than a full frame dSLR. Quiet operation. Claimed weather proof. Minus: Lighter than a dSLR, but still is a brick. Long tele focus is consistently soft, so a lot of the zoom range is wasted. Menu controls are tedious and dumb (but not as bad as some reviews suggest). Always restarts to previous focal length. No touch screen. For a lot less money you can get a camera that is nearly as good, weighs less, and is easier to use.

LCD screen and Viewfinder died, no help from Sony manual nor
Poor manual and Sony support, camera got damp, LCD screen died, the. Viewfinder died on a trip to Europe, do not depend on this camera, never had issues with my numerous Nikons.

Best everyday/travel camera
The following points make this camera the best everyday/travel camera: 1. 24-600mm (35mm equivalent) optical zoom range (aperture 2.4-4) 2. USB charging (you can charge it just about anywhere). Especially as a travel camera, being able to charge via USB using your vehicle's USB charger is helpful. Super Bridge Camera
What a nice camera, this Gem from Sony feels great and performs well. The camera is made from excellent materials and the lens is outstanding offer a huge range for bringing in those distant objects, I purchased it specifically for wildlife photos and to save carrying multiple cameras and a huge array of lenses. So far I have not been disappointed and am very pleased with the performance, the case is a great addition, especially when provided at no cost.

Cool camera
Have only had the camera for a week but so far so good. Excellent video quality. The video at 1000fps is pretty unusable but the 240fps looks excellent.

Wow! What An Incredible 4K Camera!
We needed a quick draw point and shoot for wildlife stills and video. The RX10 111 absolutely is the answer for our needs! 600mm optical zoom all but scratches moose on their backs! That 1 sensor is great for those magic hour low light conditions up her in the high country. We simply have got to be ready for running play back country adaptation. We are also pleased with how easily the RX10 111 video integrates with our FS7 video when we are editing. What a perfect fit- we are so compatible!

Super clear pictures
I'm a complete photo novice and have only used the compact (or phone) cameras in the past and wanted something with more quality for my travels. One efficient way to travel the world would be with a Nikon D7500 coupled to the 16-80/2.8-4 VR and the 80-400/4.5-5.6 VR2 lenses, effective coverage in full frame terms of 24 to 600 mm, BUT the weight of this outfit approximates 5.7 lbs, and a cost of $4600. I would buy this camera again.
I bought this as a walk around camera, for when I didn't want to carry a DSLR and several lenses. The major determinant was the Zeiss lens, with 35 mm equivalent of 24-600 mm range. The main drawbacks so far are a slightly slow focus, and a fair amount of image noise, especially in low light situations, but the images are crisp.

Amazingly good camera
An amazing camera. Very glad I bought it. Haven't been using any of my DSLR's and lenses except for the long telephoto stuff for wildlife. But I can't carry them on a bicycle like the RX10.
