Needed a replacement

Great product Great price
Having used both the Shure SLX and ULX wireless systems in a fixed set up for some years, I decided to go with the SLX wireless system for my own a/v needs because the specs for both are very close except for the battery power source; AA batteries versus 9-volt and ease of pairing the transmitter and receiver. This body pack transmitter has with stood the abuse of pros and amateur speakers for 19 years with no problems.

We have many of these transmitters at our church and they are rock-solid. We use Countryman over-the-ear microphones with these.

Affordable and Reliable wireless transmitter
I work for a large college and we just added a fwe of these bodypack transmitters to one of our larger auditoriums to supplement the Shure wireless gooseneck mics we normally use. We like the SLX Line, and as long as you match the frequency range on all of your components, you'll find you can mix and match well. Simple and affordable
This is a great basic transmitter, but it is not foolproof! It is easy for the unskilled user to change the channel or set it to a guitar level input instead of mic level. Both actions render it useless during a live performance. Tape the attenuation button to the place where you need it. If the user insists on turning it on, ask them to only press it until it turns green. Green is good. This unit toggles to amber and mutes. If that happens in your back pocket, the sound guy is in trouble! Note that Sennheiser hides all the dangerous switches under a metal cover--but they cost much more!

Shure SLX Generally a good product.
I have been using this product for over 3 years. It has been solid. I usually cater to a crowd of about 500 people at a time and i am confident in putting this pack on stage. I have had 2 fail on me over the past 3 years one in warranty and one out. Other than that I think that this is a great buy. Great audio quality, transmitting power, and all around a solid unit. Comes with instrument cable options so you could use it for guitar wireless in addition to a head set pack.

Used for Church Production
This is a great transmitter and has great reception, sound quailty, and battery life but the reason I purchased this one was because the one I had was beginning to cut in and out and I've had it less than 2 years. If this one does the same thing we'll move on to sennheiser and give them a shot.
