Excellent so far
I suddenly had to find a power zoom lens for smooth zooming while recording video. I am very new to these types of cameras, know very little about lenses, and had very little time to figure something out. So I was very thankful that Panasonic now has a power zoom lens. I read as much as I could about adapters, and other lenses - some which had better - but I needed to know absolutely that what I got fit my GH4 & would work immediately. It did ... Show More

Surprisingly nice for the price
This is the first native M4/3 lens that I purchased for my GH5, and it works very well. I mostly use all Canon glass with Metabones on the GH5, and that works great for most of my requirements. But I had a job that came up to shoot another live band, and previously I had been renting a DVX-200 for that, which I typically mount on a tripod to do smooth pan and zooms. The combination of the PZ 45-175 and the Libec ZC-LP controller now give me ... Show More

Quite Sharp
I am an amateur photographer. I am pleased with this lens. Unbelievable that just two lens take me from 32 mm equivalent to full frame to 350 mm, and do it quite well. Color is excellent and pictures are sharper then I expected. The autofocus works quite well. I would definitely recommend this lens.

Lightweight and easy to use.
compact, lightweight, easy to use power zoom (which is very helpful if you travel and want others to use your camera). Seems to take clear zoom pics from my usage so far.

Okay, But Not Great
It shoots just fine but the images lack some of the sharpness that I like. I use this with a JVC GY LS-300 and it doesn't quite compare to the Rokinons for sharpness. But it is the only zoom currently on the market that works with my camera. Just wish I had more choices. So I learn to live with it when I need a zoom shot.

Works as advertised.
Not a bargain item but seems solidly built and works effortlessly and well. Also super lightweight and compact. Great addition to my Panasonic DMC-GX7.

nd lens also rattles
I have used this lens since June. It works well but it rattles. I've sent it back for investigation a month ago but the retailer has now replaced it with a new one. This one rattles as well. This one will be going back after Christmas too. Complete pain.

Rattles a lot
When I opened this lens up I noticed one thing immediately; It rattles. I was pretty disappointed that it sounded like the lens wasn't made sturdy. It might have just been my unit so I sent it back and I am waiting for a replacement. I'm hoping the lens was defective otherwise I wont be using this product.

Great lens for sports!
This is my go-to lens for action footage. I shoot video for my college and this lens is a must for me. Excellent for soccer and capturing indoors volleyball game footage under poor lighting conditions it does good but again excellent for outdoors. The lens is smaller than I thought for a micro four-thirds with nice internal zoom.

Great lens
This is great lens for both video and still photos. It even has a power zoom lens, not too fast, but I haven't used an SLR type camera with power zoom. Image quality is excellent. It's incredibly small and lite too for the power of the zoom. Would love to have a few lower f stops, but for the cost there's no way that can happen.

Good lens - Does the job for the price
We needed something in micro four thirds that had a power zoom an stayed within our budget. This lens fit the bill. f/4.0 works well for inside shots. We are using it with a Panasonic GH3. My only issue has been that I wish there was something with more of a wide angle. 45-175 is tele to more tele.

You get what you paid for
Nothing more nothing less. It's a decent lens but not it you are planning to work professionally. Very poor quality in low light situations. If you can..spend a little more to get something better

Optics fine, functionality not
For the price, I should not have expected much. The optical quality is fine, and in accordance with the price point. The problems are that it is NOT parfocal, so you have to refocus at every different focal length. Also, if you zoom at full speed, the element bounces at the end and causes an image flash. This lens is not suitable for video zooming.

Better than I had expected
Got this lens for my Olympus OM-D E-M5. I had the olympus 42-150mm and it sucked in dust while zooming, the Panasonic lens does not extend. It is light and compact, I use it on my Hikes and camping sites. I've read some reviews on this lens and some people complain about different problems in their images. If you know how to set up your camera you won't have any problems with this lens, If you do that is why there are post processing programs out there, shoot RAW and get your image the way you like it.I'm a Happy camper with this lens.

Nice Lens
I use this lens on my Panasonic GX 7 and it works very well. I like the motorized zoom and quick focus. It seems long enough to be very useful, but it is not an all-in-one lens. Too long. But it goes nicely with the kit 14-42.

Great addition to my G6
So far after having had this lens for a couple of weeks it has lived up to my expectations. It is light and well built. The power-zoom feature takes a little getting used to as this is the first of this type that I have ever had. Since it is internal focusing the lens length does not change. Comes with a discrete and well-designed lens hood, a bonus in this day and age. I also ordered a 46mm Hoya UV filter at the same time.

A Very Good Lense
Got this for my GH4. I already had the 45-200mm but then I read that there was a similar lens with more pro glass, the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 45-175mm f/4.0-5.6 Zoom OIS Lens (Black). So, I returned the 45-200 and got the 45-175. So far, I like it.B&H is great on returns btw.

Works with Blackmagic Studio Camera!
The lens is great! The motorized zoom and focus abilities utilize the features built into the Blackmagic Studio Camera perfectly at a minimal price point!

I bought this lens for clear videos shot on the river at 15 to 30 feet and the lens works perfect.

Nice match with GM-1
I'm very pleased with this lens. Its a nice extension to the kit 12-32mm kit lens for my Lumix GM-1. Use the GM-1 when I want lighter gear that attracts less attention than my Nikon D-800E (e.g., travel, street photos). So far I've used the 45-175mm for street photos and landscapes. I'm very happy with the crisp quality of the images.

Good lens and light weight
I replaced my Lumix 45-200mm lens with this because it is much lighter for travel. It is sharp, focuses well, and has great bokeh.

Outstanding Zoom Lens
I also have the panasonic 100-300mm, but find I leave this lens on my camera most of the time. The 45mm wide end makes it more useful and the 175mm is still a lot of reach. I find the lens sharp and colorful. The power zoom feature is really nice for video.I love the internal focus. There's less chance of picking up dust and it's just plain a better system. The weight and internal focus make this a very unique lens in the m43 lineup. I really like this lens! Jack

Awesome lens!
This lens is very underrated. I find it to be very sharp, with excellent contrast. The OIS works great as well. It focuses extremely fast, and is so light and small, I carry it everywhere.

Exceeded expectations
I evaluated this lens, one I purchased for an upcoming trip to Africa, on a two-week trip to the Colorado Rockies via Black Hills. The photos I took with it, ones I sent out as eCards to friends, not only got raves, but also surpassed my more demanding scrutiny.
