Controls and menus the same as my other Panasonics. Makes it easy to operate. Good crisp pics. Nice zoom and with digital u can double it. EVF ok I wish bigger

A little disappointed
This camera is a little heavier than anticipated. The buttons are a little too touchy and lots of pictures taken by a slight touch. Also, the lense cover does not retract all the way when turned off. Except for the good zoom, my phone takes pictures just as well.

Loaded with features and a couple problems
I purchased this camera with the intent of using it as a daily shooter - for work and personally. It's loaded with features and some may be unnecessary. Be sure to look over the specs to see if you need all those features. The manual is not super easy to use and this makes the whole package a bit overwhelming. The zoom was impressive. Great Camera, however no camera bag
Very happy with the camera. Fantastic picture quality and easy to use. Would have appreciated if somebody would have pointed out that the camera doesn't come with a case. So I didn't order one. All other Lumix cameras i purchased before came with a case. Additionally I realize that buying glass over the back screen to avoid scratches might be a good ideal.

Very Much Better Viewfinder
Lost my ZS40 on a trip and considered a ZS70, but I really wanted a better viewfinder. The ZS80 delivers. I loved the 40 and took a lot of travel pictures, but the difference is dramatic. You can see what you are shooting in very bright conditions. I see no issues caused by the field sequential operation, probably because the viewfinder refreshes at 60 frames per second.

Best camera for travel !
Excellent photos ,easy to use ,lots of creative modes , optical zoom with Leica lens perfect ,compact camera,but not flimsy ,just returned from Italy ,cannot wait to see my photos on the big screen !

4th Panasonic Lumix
This is our 4th Panasonic Lumix. We love the size of the camera - fits in a pocket or purse. Only small one around with a eyepiece for focusing when the sun is bright. Finally, the super zoom is great for wildlife, birds, traveling and such. Have had some problems with Panasonic failing and needing repair over the years so make sure you purchase or get an extended warranty.
