I have original Super Nintendo console with quite a few original games that my eleven year old son wanted to play. Original console is old and it would not power up. I got this console with controllers, connected it to a TV, plugged in one of old games and voila - it worked like a charm. I did change display setting from "wide" to 4:3 to make it look like old style TV. My son was amazed by the retro games. We even tried to attach our old controllers - and they also worked. Very happy with the purchase.
