very poor picture and sound!!
Could possibly have been that the particular tv ( Alba 19" HD ready Led combi) I purchased was faulty since not only was the picture quality and sound extremely poor but the remote also had an intermittent habit of not being able to change to the number I selected! I have now replaced it with a completely different make that has wifi so I can use free play and no longer need a DVD player!

ALBA 19 INCH TV WITH DVD
Find it eco and versatile...just the right size for me..many more settings solution than i thought and easy to set up. it does have a tendency to overheat after several hours viewing..probably as it lives close (but not too close) to a radiator here. solution to that...might set the eco timer to a shorter time...picture quality not bad and is hd ready. has scart option too. and hdmi xxx

Light weight and low cost
This is ideal for a caravan as it is light weight and easy to programme in to different transmitters. The sound is a little tinny in comparison to my television at home. It is just nice not to have to have a separate dvd player and freeview box, as it makes setting it up in the caravan so easy.. Great low cost television and dvd player. I would definitely recommend it for touring.

Happy at last.
Our feelings for the day had been quite low as we had been in and out of shops looking for a small screen TV/DVD combi without success until we walked into the Argos branch at Riverside and the day brightened up when we found an Alba 19" TV/DVD, it was in stock and at a good price. We didn't realise that it was so difficult to find a small screen TV/DVD, so "Well done, Argos."

Ideal for the kid's
This tv is ideal for the kid's to watch dvd's or play games consoles on, the sound isn't amazing and the picture is ok, it's a cheap lcd tv so it's not going to be the best in the market but with things like the USB it's definitely the higher end of the "cheap" TV'S. The only issue I had, maybe it's just me but I couldn't find the source button to flick through dvd tv usb etc.

Alba television for our caravan.
We bought this item for our caravan requiring a small, lightweight item. We have not been disappointed so far. We followed the easy to understand connections and the item worked very well. We have not had the opportunity to try the DVD player yet so I'm not in a position to make comment on this part of the operation. I would recommend this item based on our limited use so far.

Great little Tv
We already have this TV in our kitchen and this is a replacement for our bedroom . Really cannot find fault with it and the tuning is idiot proof. Only criticism would be when viewing at an angle ( laying in bed) it can not be tilted and picture lacks depth or ghosting occurs, however just picked up a cantilevered wall mount which overcomes the problem . Very pleased overall .

Review Alba TV
Had previous TV of same brand but slightly larger screen, but unfortunately had to return it for this one as it kept randomly switching from TV to dvd on its own. So slightly disappointed that this one has smaller screen size and less hdmi and usb ports for a higher price. Only used for a now and again TV for the spare room and it so far so good. Major con is the sound though.

Does what I want at present
I got this so I could catch up with my supply of DVD's simply. I don't watch tv, so can't comment on it's functionality in this respect. Also haven't yet unearthed my video player following a recent move, so don't know if I can attach this, but think it should be straight forward enough. A nice tv - looks good; neat; easy to use; fits nicely into my home without swamping it.

Bought 2 - channel scanning real issue
Be prepared to be frustrated when auto/manual channel scanning - you may have to up the antennae signal power or, in our case, for one TV, install new coax cable direct to aerial . Good chance of missing channels - for us around 21 between the 2 TV's bought - including Sky News , BBC1., BBC2 . Avoid using a coax signal splitter which can downgrade a second/existing TV.

Good TV at a good price
I expected TV to be taller. Our old 19 inch TV is about 4cm taller and it makes a lot of difference. We have a problem entering a program greater than 09. You have to press the numbers in a split of a second which is impossible. I think it's a big drawback. If I had known it I wouldn't have bought the TV. Also buttons are very small especially for my husband's big hands!

Reasonable picture but terrible sound
I wasn't expecting too much from this as it was low budget. Picture quality is good if you sit square on but at any other angle then it is not good. The worst thing is the sound. I tried all the menus and settings but couldn't improve it, it sounds as bad as my laptop! In the end I connected some portable speakers which now clutters the table.

A good TV for a good price
Pleased with the TV for our kitchen. It is a good size and has a clear picture but, as the TV is placed quite high on the wall, we have had to tip it downwards slightly as the picture was dark if looking up at it rather than straight at the screen. This has now meant it has a really clear picture. It was a good price and overall it is a very good buy.

Low quality and over priced
Resolution is sub standard. USB won’t read Audio on certain movie files. Sound is as you would expect. Tuner is pretty good. DVD player is fine but makes the TV to expensive. Other TVs without a DVD player are superior at the same price. I felt like I was paying twice as much for a sub standard TV just to get a DVD player so I sent it back.

Not a great buy
Having previously bought an HD version which was brilliant, needed a TV for the campervan as ours had broken on a wet half term away. The picture quality if viewed from below the centre line is black with some alternate colours for light areas even with it tilted at 45° on the bracket the viewing angle was diabolical. Sorry Argos, complete fail :(

Awful sound and poor picture quality
If Argos had let me see this TV working I would have never bought it and when I tried to return it Argos refused. If you ever want to buy this TV insist on seeing it working first. Every time you move your head the picture is distorted and saturated with blue light. The sound is like a tin box and the audio options do not make much of a difference.

Switched On
This is a great little TV just the right size for my craft room and now I can work and not miss my favourite programmes. The sound can be a little tinny in places but it is wall mounted in the corner of the room. Great that it has a built in DVD player and USB ports, in fact for the price it has everything I need. Well pleased with this purchase.

Great for spacs saving in flat.
This was great for space saving in my flat..tvbox and PC run through it on .and fits perfectly on side table . Can't speak of ease to set up. Friend did fof me .but seemed to gave no trouble foing it. Also canf sag what thd DVD side of it is like as not using and may never do so .but.for the price,for what I needed for it's great for then.

Caravan Perfect
I looked for small televisions on line and found this one on a well known on line retailer. Checked it against Argos price and was pleasantly surprised it was £30 cheaper. Picture quality is sharp and sound is good for the price all with built in DVD for those times the reception in the caravan is poor/. Perfect for what I bought it for.

Disappointing
I found the sound when playing DVD's to be of very poor quality. The overall sound quality was tinny but the sound practically non-existent when playing a DVD, Even with the volume turned right up I couldn't hear what was being said. I bought separate speakers and connected them to the TV set and now the sound has improved dramatically.

Reasonable priced tele
I purchased this to go in my caravan so I have only set it up at home, picture and sound seem ok . The set itself is nice and slim so doesn't take up much room. The only drawback is that on the Argos web site one of the answers to a question was the tele would work in a caravan & implied that the set has a 12v input which it doesn't

My TV Combi is perfect for a small space
My TV Combi is perfect for my boat, as I have limited space. It has a low power usage so no problem to run off my power inverter (12v to 240v) if not in marina with mains supply; and starts to play CDs automatically as soon as the disc is inserted, no issues with connections or compatibilty. So for ease and suitability, it is superb.

good basic TV as a spare
I bought this when my old portable finally broke down. This is used in my kitchen and motor home. It is really what you would expect from a fairly cheap model. Sounds can be a bit tinny and the picture quality not easy to adjust, but if you just want a TV for occasional use, then it's fine, but don't expect top quality performance.

The TV was perfect for a fixing on a small chimney
This was for my daughter who resides in a care home which is 62 miles away.Her room is small, so the TV had to be hung. She already had a 15" TV hung on a small breast of chimney. I managed to remove the small TV, and hang the 19". It only took a few minutes to set the TV for all its programmes and to check the DVD part.
