Great bedroom tv - nice appearance
I bought this tv to replace an old style non flat screen tv in my bedroom and so far I am not disappointed. The size is great, fitting nicely in the space of its predecessor and I am very satisfied with the picture and sound quality. The connectivity is good and the overall appearance is nice. Set up was relatively easy although I have not yet worked out how to get the tv to send power to my indoor aerial (not included in box). I would definitely recommend this product.

Good value TV but interface could be better
It's hard to find a small size TV these days, but this little one is good value. The only drawback is that the interface text is quite small. It's OK if you're sitting on top of it, but if you're sitting in a chair a few feet away, it's hard to make out the channels on the channel list. Similarly, the buttons on the remote are quite tiny, which make it difficult for people with hand tremors to accurately select the channel they need. Other than that, a good TV.

Good all round small TV
TV looks good and works well. Have connected Playstation, HDD box, DVD player and computer to the built in input connections without requiring any splitters, have also connected external speakers using the audio output and mounted a USB flash drive in the USB port so plenty of options for connecting. Picture quality is good, sound quality not quite so good although acceptable. Sound is fine when using external speakers. All in all a pretty good little TV

Kitchen TV
We bought this tv for the kitchen therefor did not want to pay too much.we decided to go for the Alba 19" ,we were VERY SUPRISED on the quality of the sound/picture look and features. I had to phone the Argos helpline as I had problems on fine tuning the sound , the man was excellent and took me through it step by step. (After reading the manual later the information was there ). This is a great little TV and we shall be another for the spare bedroom.

Good telly for the money
Alba is one of the few companies that seem to make a smaller telly. It's a remarkably good telly for the price, was easy to set up, the picture is of a good quality and the sound is more than acceptable for a bedroom "2nd" telly - actually looks good as well. Only one drawback on the Freeview is the lack of a channel/programme listing as you can only view the current channel only. So great value for the money and a great "little" telly for the price.

could not get a picture
I bought this Alba to replace my kitchen DVD/TV which died as well as the aerial. I bought an amplified indoor HD tv aeriel at the same time but it would only pick up 11 channels, so, I returned it for a Hitachi tv which was a larger screen by a couple of inches and slightly more expensive but luckily on sale. Attached it to the same aerial as I did the ALBA and it picked up all the channels beautifully and the sound quality was ten times better.

Replacement for portable TV
I hunted around for a while to get a small screen and this was the smallest I could locally source, It's easy to locate 40" plus..... Come on manufacturers you're missing out on a market! This 19" TV is light weight and can be free standing using the supplied bracket (simple push fit) or wall mounted bracket not supplied. Disappointingly the opposite part of the base is not removable so it spoils the line's of the frame surrounding the screen.

Useful SImple plenty Connectivity
VGA as well as HDMI OK 4 Laptop and Raspberry Pis. OK with Now or Chromecast into HDMI powered from USB. On shelf above desk must tilt it down towards me to just the right angle as the vertical viewing angle for a good picture is surprisingly narrow. This is tricky as the stand is fixed angle and requires me to put things under it to adjust the angle. Resolution at 1366 x 768matches laptop. Has control buttons on side back up remote.

Good value but sound not great.
Needed a TV for the kitchen when we were having breakfast, now I'm not sure what it's called but to view without distortion of colors it really needs to be mounted at viewing height, in our case while sitting down. Viewed from standing position the faces show with blue blotches! but playing with the sound as 'Personal' it did improve enough to be acceptable. Other than the above the set seems excellent value and has good connectivity.

Good value for money
As mentioned by some other reviewers, the screen needs to be viewed from the correct angle to get a good picture. This isn't a problem as mine is being used in a bedroom so can be positioned to be seen from the bed but perhaps this isn't a suitable model for a room where multiple people will be watching it. The TV itself is very lightweight, about half as heavy as the model it replaced. Basically, it does what I need it to do.

t.v.for the kitchen
when my last Alba t.v went pop, I looked at the Argos site to replace it and found a similar size for about the same money. there are more channels on the new one , it fire's up quicker and is ok for the kitchen. however... it cannot be angled like the old one so the picture varies in colour dependent on where you view the screen, and the channel up/down button is quite sensitive. would I buy it again, oh yes it's ok for the money.

Good except with Sky Q remote
Happy with the TV itself - fits well into a small space that needed filling. Has all necessary connections including Scart. There are problems however with using a Sky Q remote to control the volume as the model number of the TV is not recognised by Sky. Argos technical help provided several possible codes but unfortunately none worked. At present, this means switching back and forward between remotes to control the volume.

Does the job.
I got this TV for my bedroom, as it is a small bedroom and I don`t have a lot of space a smaller TV was a smarter choice, as I did not want my eyes to hurt. It`s a good TV. Sound quality is very good and clear. It`s easy to set up and use. I really like the design. It is really slim and light, which makes is easy to handle. The picture quality amazed me for such a small TV. Bright and clear colors. Overall a good TV.

ALBA 19" HD ready TV
Very good value. Ideal for a bedroom. Easily set up. My only very slight reservations are: (i) The vertical angle of the TV is fixed relative to the base - this is very surprising, as the cost involved in making it slightly adjustable, would be minimal, if any. (ii) The vertical angle of viewing is slightlty limited - this would not be a problem if the angle of the screen relative to the base were adjustable

Restricted viewing angles and poor sound quality
If you move a few degrees above, below, left or right of the centre of the screen the colour and brightness changes to an unacceptable degree. The sound quality is like listening to a pair of headphones held at arms length. This TV is not good for serious viewing/listening. I have relegated it to the position of computer monitor on my reserve computer. If it had been on display in Argos I would not have bought it.

perfect television
this television is perfect.....its simple and tunes in perfect...i have indoor ariel and needed some help but the customer services were spot on.....if you have an outdoor ARIEL THE auto tune will do all the work 4 you.....looks perfect in any room and you can easily put in car and use in a caravan...i would recommend if u want a television thats small easy 2 use and can be used for computer games this is the one

Good enough for the kitchen
Wish I'd have paid a bit more for a better television, but it was only for a kitchen. Sound quality is very poor as is the picture quality. Remote control is very hit and miss. Plug is not a sealed unit which is very suprising in this day and age, and especially from such a large retailer like Argos. Overall very disappointed and if you are reading this my suggestion would be to look at a better brand.

For the price excellent
I needed two small TVs one for a narrow shelf the other for a shallow shelf, these fitted their spaces perfectly. I have a poor signal where I am and these TVs cope no better no worse than the others. The office tv is up high, it's predecessor's screen showed negative looking upto it, this one while not perfect is a vast improvement. I struggled to find 19 inch TVs and this foots the bill almost perfectly.

Cheap & Cheerful TV
I needed a cheap replacement TV for the bedroom so this was ideal. OK so the sound is tinny (sounds just like one of those small 1960's transistor radios I had in my youth) and the picture quality when viewed at an angle is "washed out" but for the money you really can't complain. As its only used to listen to BBC News in the morning whilst getting ready to go to work, it suits my purpose perfectly.

Terrible picture quality
I have been buying flat screen TVs and computer monitors since 1998 both professionally and personally, the picture quality of this Alba is awful, the worst i have seen. e. g. unless you are sitting right close and straight to it, the contrast and sharpness deteriorate badly. i considered returning it, but no one else makes a 19" TV. surprising since it is the perfect size for a kitchen worktop.

nice litle tv
wanted a small TV for a temporary home - this was very lightweight so easy to carry back from the shop, and has perfectly good picture and sound for a small living room - decent price too! needed a plug-in aerial to get Freeview but then set-up and tuning was easy - only issue that there aren't different sound settings for movie, music etc so it's a bit fiddly to boost voices and stuff like that

Make do tv
Bought this as cheapest available tv for the daughters bedroom (after grandad bought her a DVD player not knowing she didn’t have tv to watch dvds on! ) The tv is absolutely fine for what it’s used for but if you are looking at it from anywhere other than head on then you lose the contrast, picture almost completely so thankfully it’s only on special reasons she gets to watch it anyway

Not great picture quality/sound but ok in kitchen
I bought this tv to use on my kitchen worktop while I am cooking. It's a nice size & fits between the base & wall cabinets when I am not using it. The picture is a little distorted if you look at the screen from different angles & the sound is a bit "tinny" but It will be fine for the kitchen and was cheap. The tv is 17.5 inches wide & 12.5 inches tall including stand & is lightweight.

Great picture. Terrible sound.
Bought the Bush 19inch tv for our caravan. It fits perfectly into the little ready made space. The picture is superb, and it was an absolute breeze to tune in. The only thing that lets it down is the sound. The speakers are very small and results in a very tinny sound. I've bought some small extra speakers to try and improve this. On the whole though, a great little tv for the money.
