Best of Both Worlds

Oct 24, 2019

Years ago at a production company my boss would edit videos using a Wacom Intous Tablet. As much as I was intrigued by it I was a cheapskate at heart and I had no desire to spend that sort of money when I had a perfectly good mouse. I'm Old School in that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Fast forward ten years and I had worn out an old Apple corded keyboard and an Apple corded mouse that hadn't scrolled in over 6 months. So I started hunting for ... Show More

Magic Trackpad...useful upgrade

Nov 4, 2015

I'm using this new Apple product in conjunction with a newish high end retina 5k iMac. there is less anxiety about blue tooth pairing as that function is now through the Lightning USB cable. same with the reduction in nuisance value of having to take out and put in the batteries of the previous model. as of writing this I don't know if the new model rechargeable battery is user replaceable, which would make it a user friendly product. The new fea... Show More

Minor upgrade from the older version but a must-have.

Jan 16, 2017

I've been hooked on the trackpad since acclimating to my older model 4 years ago. (I'm not quite sure why that one can't work with my new iMac, except of course for the purposes of extracting more money from me come upgrade time.) It may take a bit of getting used to at first, but in my experience & opinion the trackpad is absolutely worth the expense and effort. It makes navigation and selection much more efficient, even more so than with the ma... Show More

I Love it!!

Jan 31, 2016

Don't get me wrong I liked the old trackpad alot I never actually bought one, but I played with them a lot at the @. Then this new model came out and it was love at first sight here is what I LOVE over the previous model1. It is wider my hand seems to fit more naturally on it and the gestures are easier also it is lower profile due to there not being a AA battery in there2. Built in batteries this thing goes about 3 weeks on a charge under heavy ... Show More

watch out for windows

I like using it though I have only used mice on an sustained bases before. It is nice the give my oldish hand a change from the mouse. Much of the time it is as good or better than the mouse, though I am still not as fast at PhotoShop with it I may yet learn to be. I like to use it with two hands I always work on a board in my lap; I move with my right index finger and clic with my left. The worst thing about is that it seem to much more frequent... Show More

Comfortable navigation and a rechargeable internal battery

Jul 4, 2019

The Trackpad 2 works extremely well. It's quite large, which makes for comfortable navigation. I like that it has a rechargeable battery. You can plug it into the computer's USB port. The old Trackpad had AA batteries. They're cheap and easy to replace but when they go dead you have to have another pair with you. On the downside, the B&H salesman warned me that when the Trackpad 2's internal battery wears out (in 2-3 years?), I'll probably have t... Show More

Great Product

Nov 27, 2015

I have grown accustomed to the track pads with all the lap top work I do. I hardly ever use a mouse any more so this was a must have for the I-Mac. It is a bit pricey thus only 4 stars. I have been using it for a couple of weeks and (usually) remember to turn it off. I do not know how long the battery will last. If I left it on I will plug it in when I get back to the computer. I leave one usb/lightning connector plugged in to the I-Mac and alternate it between the key board and touch pad to insure they have a good charge. I am very happy with it and very thankful for B&H.

Good Product Although with High Price

Jun 5, 2017

It is a good product. One of the most important reason I buy this is because it provides smooth scrolling. In addition, it is of good quality and provides consistent Mac user experience. Compared with the first generation, force touch technology makes it easier and more comfortable to click. I know lots of old Mac users loves 3 finger drag rather than click drag. But I have to say because force touch, I don't have to use tap as click, and my hand stays longer on Magic Trackpad to rest without worrying about wrongly click. In a word, I love my Magic Trackpad 2.

Excellent Trackpad

Oct 23, 2018

I just upgraded from the original Apple Trackpad to the Trackpad 2. The larger surface area is helpful and I like the additional gestures that are available. The three-finger drag is really helpful, you don't have to plant one finger and swipe with another as in the old trackpad. Several reviewers mentioned the stickiness of the plastic surface. I haven't experienced that, the drag is about the same as with the older aluminum pad. Been using it 6 hours daily for a couple of weeks and the battery is still showing 60% charge. I'm very satisfied with it.

Good overall; Bluetooth performance totally unacceptable

Feb 17, 2019

I really like it, but I noticed that when the system was under heavy load, the cursor would SERIOUSLY lag when I tried to use it via Bluetooth. The way my desk is set up, leaving it plugged in all the time is fine, but its very annoying that it is pretty much unusable (by me anyway) over Bluetooth on a system that is busy. If Apple wants everything to be wireless, then they need to not have a totally compromised experience when using a device wirelessly. For reference, I have a 2018 Mac Mini with 3.2 GHz Core i7 processor.

Outstanding

Dec 2, 2015

This trackpad is excellent. I was using a Macbook (late 2013 with its trackpad), and purchased an iMac. I chose this product over the mouse (Magic 2). The wireless feature and large area are the best features in my opinion. I don't use Force Touch at all. I don't see the need. Perhaps the software hasn't yet been developed to take advantage of it. The trackpad surface is at the same height as the keys on the new keyboard. They site nicely adjacent to each other. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Magic Trackpad2 vs. Magic Mouse, no comparison!

Sep 13, 2016

If I had but known how fantastic and experience it was going to be using a Magic Trackpad, we would have invested the extra expense ages ago. We love it!!! It is so much more responsive than the Magic Mouse and I love the fact that you can charge Magic Trackpad 2 in the back of your iMac and still be able to browse with your iMac! This is not so with Magic Mouse. You have to charge it separately and it is unavailable during the charge. I love the fact that I can say Goodbye batteries!

I am so glad I got this.

This is perfect for me. This track pad works well, as good as the Apple Trackpad on my laptop. I added it to the Apple wireless keyboard, for more ergonomic use. It has taken a load off my shoulders and neck. The combo tray that I got to hold both the keyboard and trackpad, works well, and is a good price point. I can use this when I use my laptop hooked to the TV.

Better than Expected

Jan 29, 2018

Been in the market for a new mouse. So disappointed with the new Magic Mouse and how I would sit down to edit a project and all of a sudden the mouse is dead and genius Apple decides to put the charging port on the bottom. Took me about a week to get used to the trackpad but loving it now. Extremely responsive to touch and looks super sleek on the desk

Very pleased with this trackpad. Although description states silver, it's mostly white which was a nice surprise. Yes, there is silver on the sides but the top is white. It took some getting used to but not long. The price isn't great but I don't like the prices of any of the Apple products....yet....I still purchase....go figure.

Sweet and then some

Jul 14, 2017

I do a lot of graphic design and then general computer work. I had the original trackpad and home and thought work should buy me one too. It's so much better on my wrists when comparing to a mouse. You will quickly fall in love with all the shortcuts you can do (like you would on a laptop trackpad). Too many to mention!

Works well.

Nov 28, 2018

For now, Ive switched from mouse to trackpad for most uses. I expect to use the mouse when precision is needed. I may use the trackpad most of the time if I can get used to it. My main difficulty is running out of room when dragging. This trackpad seems very reliable and smooth, and I like the two-fingered scrolling.

Vast improvement over Trackpad1

Jun 7, 2017

Far better workspace, nice to not need batteries, very good to remove those easy to loose rubber assemblies from Trackpad 1 which inevitably get lost rendering the trackpad useless. Also very good setup, just plug in vs the tedious process with Trackpad1 which strangely needed to reconnect more than one would like

From a laptop to this

Dec 11, 2015

I haven't used a desktop on a regular basis for years, so converting to an iMac from a MacPro allows me to easily continue my work without needing to struggle with a mouse (although, I got that too). The trackpad 2 is easy to use and I love the large real estate it offers vs. the traditional trackpad on a mac pro.

So good, I don't think twice about using it...

Sep 28, 2017

Really like the larger size and glass-like smoothness of its surface. Easy to articulate delicate movements or broad strokes and I love that it can be used tethered with its USB cord or wirelessly thru Bluetooth connection on its own battery power. It's a bit more expensive, but the quality is worth the price.

Bought one as a gift for my wife, who had been using her 20-year old Apple Keyboard and mouse. I suggested that she try my Apple extended keyboard and Magic Trackpad (1) that I had been using for a while. Needless to say, she loved them & now she has the BT versions of both. Sh loves them even more!

Apple Magic Trackpad 2

Jan 17, 2018

I recently purchased this item to accompany my new iMac. I dislike using a mouse and found that the trackpad works almost as well as the keyboard on my MacBookPro. I'm still learning to master the trackpad and hope I'll succeed soon. That's the only reason I've rated this a 4 instead of a 5.

Better than the first version but could use more improvement

Dec 8, 2015

I'd really like the design of this new Magic Trackpad, but like any new product out there, it could use a little bit of improvement. Especially the touch force technology. If you have a sweaty hand it can be a drag sometime to get the arrow to work. Overall it's a nice little gadget to have.
