Great value

This is the second pair that I have owned. The first pair died after about 10 years of hard service, so no complaints considering the price. Personally I find the large ear pads that enclose the ear to be very comfortable, even for extended periods, though as with most headphones ears can start feeling a bit sweaty after a while. The headband is also well padded. Consider that these are an enclosed design, sound isolation from sounds co... Show Moreming from outside is not huge, but in some situations that can be a benefit. On the important question of sound quality they are very impressive (again taking into consideration the price point). They cannot be expected to be as accurate as studio headphones that cost 10x the price, but they are considerably better than many headphones at 2x to 3x the price. Bass, mid, treble, all present in good proportion. Not boomy and bass goes pretty low. Not a totally "flat" response, but detailed and not fatiguing. In the studio I use these mostly for listening to specific details and prefer to use studio monitor speakers for balancing the Eq and the overall mix. I also find them a pleasure to use when just listening to music when its not appropriate to crank up the speakers. The headphone cord is not detachable or replaceable, so some care should be taken to not wind the lead tightly around the phones when storing. Particular care should be taken to not over stress the grommet where the cord enters the (left) earpiece, Having said that, the cord on my previous pair survived 10 years of heavy use, so this is no more than being sensible. The construction is mostly plastic, but is reasonably sturdy and quite light. There is plenty of adjustment for different head sizes. The stereo jack plug is a combination mini-jack with screw on 1/4" adaptor. (the screw fitting is a nice bonus compared to the usual budget "push on" adaptors). I have probably rated "quality" higher than they deserve in absolute terms. They are certainly not on par with top quality headphones, but at less than £20 GBP they deserve 10 / 5 stars overall. I got these for "free" when buying a bundle, and there's a reason for them being an extra. Honestly, if you are browsing this site you have no reason to buy them as is. Invest a bit more and you'll get headphones that actually have some proper use. They are "ok" for listening what's going on, but should not be used for any other purpose, as the sound is not something to be praised for. I'd say that giving them to a band member to follow the ... The parts over your ears are quite heavy to the contrast of the strap, reducing the comfort drasticly. But, they are not too tight, I'll give them credit for that. While my words may sound harsh, it was what I expected and they worked just fine using them for personal training with e-drums. All I really asked for was them to deliver sound, which they did, on a reasonably high volume I might add. But the thing I was very disappointed of was the product quality. It took less than 2 months for them to break without any kind of ill-usage. They were stored on top of the drums in apartment, and I did not even disconnect them after plugging them in once I had assembled the kit. While they were free for me, I still don't think that something like that is acceptable. Taking in account all the other negative things they have, I couldn't even be bothered sending them back, as they really serve no rational purpose. I was disappointed, and didn't even pay for them. Better than expected!

I have been looking around for a few sets of headphones for artists in the studio and for on location recordings. The only bit i am concerned for in the long term is the part holding the ear pieces together as it looks like it's held by a single screw. Connectors are mini jack but with a screw on adaptor. Excellent long lead, just what i need. Audio quality is good, some people say too little bass but i think that is only because so many other makes overemphasize the bass range in modern headphones - Ok for normal playback but in the studio it is hazardous the mix. Very comfortable, hardwearing, ideal for tracking on location

May not be the most accurate-sounding headphones ever made (you'd generally want open-backed for total accuracy anyway), but when compared with my Sennheiser EH2700s they rate closer than the price tag might suggest. One thing that strikes you about the HD880s is how superbly comfortable they are - in this regard they're actually slightly superior to the Sennheisers for my money; no problem having these on for a long session. I searched for some cheap headphones for my computer for sound editing and for practising guitar at home with my multieffect unit. The t.bone HD 880 fits my requirements for this use to almost 100 percent. I got with them a cheap solution with clear sound with a bit to much heights in my opinion. The connected 3m cord is long enough for my purposes and the adaptor to 6.3mm which is screwed on the jack - not only clipped - is very useful. It comes... Affordable quality

I now have three pairs of these for my studio. You won't get better without spending a lot more money. They are comfy to use for long periods with a nicely padded headband, and sound relatively neutral. No noticeable distortion at hearing damage inducing levels, and they are not easily swamped by sub-bass. The pads give a good fit leaving minimal spill to studio microphones. Cheap monitoring headphones

These headphones are cheap which is the main reason I bought them. I got 2 or 3 sets to use as monitoring headphones for use in the studio when recording. I've had a few clients complain that they are not comfortable, but most seem happy with how they fit. I've never had a problem with comfort, but the headphones don't sound great. Good alternative to traditional brands like Sony/Panasonic etc

Having heard some positive things about T.Bone gear I opted for these when our engineer cans needed replaced and they did a perfectly acceptable job. Understand, we are not talking about high end studio definition here. I cannot attest to how well they perform in detail relating to low frequency but if you need a pair of over-ear monitors they are snug, fairly durable and clear enough to assist with a good live mix. Good choice!

I've been using these headphones for about 5 years now and the first thing I want to say is that they have so good durability and built quality. For this price is quite unique. Good Sound, Shabby Build

These inexpensive headphones have a descent sound quality, good enough for recording or mixing. They are closed back but not completely isolating (as e.g. the HD 990D are). They are light and comfortable to wear for extended periods. However, the build quality seems to be poor, the materials are not strong. great studio cans

a quality headphone for nothing

First time I was at Thomann "Headquarter" tried out this beauty and the sound was amazing. None of the headphones could hit it in its price category. Not even the Superlux. The relation between price and performance is justified

I bought those headphones for my digital piano. For this purpose they are good. I also tried to use them as studio headphone, but the sound is not that for mixing. They are however good enough for just hearing the mix. The headphones are built well and the cable is very long, this delivers huge mobility. Moreover the attached adapter is also built very well and fits exactly. The comfort can be described as good and all in all these headphones are made for those who want to save some money. They are a cheap alternative for everyone who does not want to pay that much money.

Best bang for the buck

I own a lot of headphones. All of them are more expensive than these by a lot, but not all sound clearly better than these; and that is the best compliment I can do. For the price? For closed headphones? ABSOLUTELY UNBEATABLE. If you're looking for open headphones, try the Superlux HD-668B. Comfortable (maybe too loose on the ears), durable - except the cable: eventually they will stop working and you think is because of that time they fell on the floor. It's not. They are rock solid. Just replace the stock cable for, say, an AKG K601 cable and you'll be fine.

the t.bone HD 880 is a cheap option for studio headphones. Price is only around 25EUR but the quality is way better than you could think of getting in this price range. Of course you could get better headphones with bigger stack of gold , but for this price they are good! t.bone HD 880 comes with 3m cord which gives you movability. The sound is clear and sharp. The overall quality is good for normal studio work. If you want cheap option for good studio headphones, I would recommend these. I've been using these for a year now and they work great! Highly recommended!

Get this headphone if you buy an organ

I bought a Viscount Vivace from Thomann and ordered one of the T-bone headphones so I could play without annoying the neighbours! What a lucky choice. The bass is rich and deep. Perfect for the pedal stops. The top end bright and well-defined. I tried a Phillips and a Sennheiser and found both unsatisfactory. The Sennheisser was very good with recordings etc, but I could not hear the bass of the organ, particularly the Quintadon 32ft.. I have read some reviews that are less than complimentary, but when paried with a Viscount organ, they are great.

Comfortable and clear

I bought this headphones for using them with a guitar amp at home. They are very comfortable to wear. Enough place inside the for your ears. Even after a long time of wearing, they do not hurt. And the sound is very clear and well balanced, compared to other headphones within this price range. A bit more bass would be better i think, but i am no expert in this section. Also it is a nice feature that you can unscrew the audio jack, so that you can easily switch between 1/4" and minijack. All in all i would recommend them for beginners.

I use these headphones for drumming. The sound quality is 2-3x better than what you would expect from this price-range. I mean it's amazing! If you want to buy a wonderful christmas present to a hobbyist audiophile without sacrificing too much money then this is your choice. There is one issue though, the structure has one weak spot, where the headband connects to the earpieces. In my opinion that's a fragile joint so the headset certainly needs careful handling. Other than that it's a first class product.

very impressed

I didn't expect this to perform or sound as good as it does. Fo the moeny it is a real valuable purchase. I use it for keyboard, monitoring and private drums/guitar and it does all these very well- best impedance/ SPL match of any of the headphones I use this widely...hence its value. While I still choose to use my Sony's for close mastering, I don't take them places I take the HD880, which is conveniently doubled ended- both mini and jack stereo. I have thought about buying some more of these...

You get exactly what you pay

Not that bad for the price, however this product would now not be my first choice when looking for headphones. I've used these hooked up to either an amp or effects unit, playing the guitar. The headphones aren't anything special in terms of comfort, the sound is alright, but some noise is present. The biggest issue was that after a while one side stopped working. At first jerking the cable a little helped, but eventually the pad went completely dead. So the quality leaves much to be desired.

Great value for the money

For the price I don't think there is much out there that can beat these. I used them for silent practice on guitar and they work great. The have a surprisingly good bass response. One downside is that they feel a bit "cheap". The weakest point is the cord. I've had several of these and they never last more than a year before the cord breaks internally. These have a great price/sound ratio and I would definitely recommend these but be aware of the poor quality of the cord.

T-bone HD880

I found these didn't fit me too well, they are quite a large headphone and unless you have a big head I would avoid them, they constantly fall off my head on the smallest setting, I have kept them in the draw for others to use when visiting the studio, the sound quality is ok but a little thin and they don't handle a lot of power before distorting, I would definitely choose some cheap sehnheiser or Phillips over these for the money

Average quality for the price

I have owned these headphones for three or for years, and although they worked perfectly okay over that time, they have not lasted well with age. The ear padding has cracked and split throughout and is flaking off. Also, the right channel has just ceased working, in common with several other reviews on this same product. If you want something which will still be in decent condition a few years down the line, go up-market.
