Solid quality microphone for my gaming pc
My gaming pc doesn't come with a mic. The Tascam comes to rescue. This is an all-metal construction mic that works perfectly for my game top. I paid for the unit while it was on discount. So for me, the mic is great value too.

Waste of time - $10 & I still returned it
Despite product's claims to work with recording devices, item never worked no matter the multitude of cords & adapters I tried. Eventually got it to work on a computer with a USB sound card, but even then, the loud noise of the preamp made the audio worthless. Don't waste your time. I only spend $10 on this & I still returned it.

Handy little Mic made by Tascam
I sold Tascam recording equipment in the 80s so I know a good product when I see it. We use a DR-680, and DSLR-70 in our film program and this is just more of the same Tascam quality.

Perfect match with camcorder
Got this to make voice and guitar YouTube videos with a Canon vixia r800 camcorder (also from BH photo). Works perfectly for great sounding music videos.

Perfect
This is a great desktop microphone. I like the weighted base, its got a small footprint but holds the mike where you put it. Excellent sound quality. Plugs in and works right out of the box (install the battery).

Never worked
I was excited to use this for the first time and when I finally got around to giving it a shot it didnt work. Ive never recorded anything out of it. I have tried multiple batteries to no avail and its outside of the return policy so I guess Im stuck. I usually like Tascam but this product is a dud. The light cuts on briefly then shuts off when switching the power on. Again, this microphone has never worked. Its a great paperweight though.

Good Cheap Stereo Microphone
For $16, I bought the Tascam TM-ST1 as a live crowd noise mic for an audio recorder. For it's incredibly low cost, it works well for the purpose. Recommended for non-critical applications.

Does the job
This is a good basic microphone. I use it for dictation to my MacBook Air and it works fine. I had to use my iMic to interface with the computer but that was to be expected since there is no native mic level input on the Mac.

Great product for the price. I would recommend it.
It is the perfect product for what we do: Presenting and recording live audio with our Ustream videos. We plug it into the mic input on our desktop and the program recognizes it. Very pleased with the product. Still learning how to use it. Nice proximity effect when used close to vocal source. It is nearly 1/3 the cost of the Sony mics we previously purchased, which are no longed manufactured.

The output level is so low I cannot even use it with my handheld recorder..... Don't buy this thing

Pleased With My Purchase
I am using this mic to record videos of me singing and playing a guitar. The sound is better than the built in mic on my Canon camcorder but not quite as good as the built in mic on my Nikon D750 camera. I like being able to direct my vocals into the mic at close range while the camera is placed farther away.

For the price I can't complain
But the quality of the test recordings I have made with this mic are not satisfactory to my ears. There is too much echo and I don't see any real separation in the stereo tracks.

Works Great
This microphone is working great. We use it for audio when we are streaming during storm chasing. It works well with our system and captures the audio nicely for our stream.

Great microphone...
Don't judge a mic by its price, this one is great. I own three. They are on all of my cameras with every multi-camera shoot I do. I always record multitrack into Protools but many times fold in the camera audio from these into the mix for stereo image enhancement as it is clean and nicely imaged (both settings). I once used one in a pinch as a piano mic and it sounded comparable to a pair of small-diaphragm condenser mics. Definitely use a shock mount though.. .

Works well
I bought this for my Canon C300 for reference only since there is no reference audio on the camera (stupid!!). It works. Had to get creative with how I mounted it because the shaft is too large in diameter to put in the C300 shotgun mount. Dumb. However I bought the Wooden Camera C300 top plate at the same time and after a trip to$ was able to mount it to that plate.

Great Solution
I'm not a professional, but I help create videos for my church, the kids' school, etc. Needed a solution for capturing audio from multiple people in an interview setting. This mic worked great. The sound is clear and captured everyone's voices. It sounded at lot better than I expected. It seems very well made and doesn't feel like it's about to fall apart, like so many other inexpensive products. Would definitely recommend.

Good product for amateur use
I use it for audio interview recording, and the 120 degree mode help to capture a wider range while directing the mic to a specific person.

Excellent Product
Purchased this product for use with a digital voice recorder. This microphone is compact and picks up quality sound in situations such as an interview. The stand the microphone comes with is not lightweight and it does not work with the Ipod touch 3g voice memos.

great battery life
bought to get better battery life out of the Tascam DR-08, and it does exactly that for me. Seems pretty sturdy. I am an amatuer, but I couldn't notice a difference between the built-in mic on the DR-08 (which sounds great) and this mic.

Tascam TM-ST1 stereo is amazing.
This mic is used for my home recording studio. The stereo mic is what I needed for the ambiance I want from the room I'm recording in. Great price for the effect I need. I've been searching for a stereo mic for depth perception and this Tascam TM-ST1 does exactly what i need.

Does the job it was designed to do, well
The Tascam TM-ST1 condenser microphone was designed as a complement to any small stereo digital audio recorder or can also be used with a sound card in a computer. I purchased it for my Tascam DR-07 MKII for more flexibility in making all sorts of live recordings where I could isolate the microphone from the digital recorder. Good product at a fair price.
The TM-ST1 works well with the Tascam DR-05. It appears to be well made and the inclusion of long connection leads, sturdy and weighty desk stand was thoughtful for users. I would recommend this microphone to users of hand-held high-end linear recording devices as the frequency response and sensitivity are great. Only bad remark is that I tore the rather flimsy product carton in my haste to inspect and test the microphone.
