Tascam TM-180 Studio Condenser Microphone with Shockmount, Hard Case, and Zippered Soft Case

Great mic, great price, great features.

I have used this mic in conjunction with the behringer ultragain preamp to my satisfaction recording orchestra (as an appendant mic to pick up celli, winds, and brass), v/o (baritone sounds full and rich), and acoustic guitar(after some rudimentary eq-ing got it sounding bright and warm at the same time.) Show More was correct. without the tube pre in the signal chain, the gain on the mixer must be turned past 2 o'clock where things usually start to get noisy. used with experience and experimentation this mic is an excellent choice for beginner/intermediate semi-pro/archival recordings. I can see how it would be good for podcast as well. high pass filter, 10db pad, and a very nice shockmount make this a great choice for the money. case is plastic but good quality, and there is a pleather mic bag included as well. i ordered over the weekend and got it thursday evening. I may purchase another for stereo micing if it stands up to the test of time as a location recordist mic. I usually never buy a mic without product reviews, but I have had good luck with tascam gear in the past, and a hunch just told me to go for it. i'm glad i did.Show Less
