Superior quality in a compact package
Excellent wide angle lens for APSC cameras. I moved from a DSLR setting, had the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8. Though the aperture was very useful, the edges were soft and distorted. The Sony 10-18 nails it. Coming in a compact and lightweight design, the autofocus is spot on and the OSS adds in more value. Worth the price tag.

1-Day Faster Shipping VS Amazon Prime!
The reason i ordered from B&H was due to the fact that they were able to ship FASTER than AMAZON PRIME. i ordered on a Tuesday and received the package the next day, Wednesday. Amazon Prime only guaranteed prime-shipping to be delivered on the following Friday. I assume it really depends where you live but in the northeast, i was able to get it within 1-day. Also, it included an ND-filter at no extra cost. Thanks B&H! i really appreciate the con... Show More

Car show
Really liked how close I could get with this lens to get a large object into the picture. Cars are always parked on top of each other. Was using a circular polarizer on the lens. Photos burst with color and great across the whole frame. Excellent lens !

Not great but acceptable
The lens is very sharp at every focal lengths in the center area but wide open and even one stop down is soft close to the edges. At F8 it is a good lens, so I keep it since most of the time I use F8. I had a lot better lenses in this range (for my Nikons), which were sharp from edge to edge even wide open.

For Sony APS-C cameras this is your only Super wide option
The lens is very good and sharp between 10-14mm from edge to edge, then at16-18mm only the center area is sharp unless you stop it down to F11. If you only be using it in the super wide 10-14mm settings then you have a good super wide lens.

Great wide angle
This is one of my favorite lenses for my A6500. There arent many options for a wide angle zoom for APS-C e-mount and considering the price compared to a full frame lens at twice the price this produces some terrific quality photos. Its not without its caveats though. barrel distortion is pretty obvious and vignetting can get bad on occasion. lightroom RAW corrections help but it still shows somewhat. In my opinion this is to be expected for such ... Show More

Okay for 4k, not okay for photo..
Im a nikon full frame guy, so to me switching to sony crop is a bit awkward, but Im doing this only for video capabilities of a6500 and the features it gives you with its native optics. From that perspective the setup is pretty good, despite the rolling shutter in 4k and the horrible pixel binning in FHD (shame on you Sony!), the video is quite good, AF on this lens is fast, responsive and precise, OSS is also amazing. The lens (with the camera) ... Show More

Impressive little lens
I bought the Sony a6000 as a backup camera to create time-lapses and of course this lens was recommended by a lot of reviewers, this is the only APS-C i have for this camera and its really good actually.

Great lens!
Small, light, sharp, fast and accurate AF, OSS - what more could you ask? A cheaper price, perhaps - but well worth it if you are a serious photographer.

Until it dies
I loved this lens...until it just died on me. From one da to another, safely stored in the camera bag, working fine to absolutely dead. Dead as in nothing functional. No connection to the camera, not even manual focus. Nothing. Sony took a few months trying to figure out the problem, replaced parts to no avail...adding up eventually to more than the lens cost me new. And then they offered to replace the lens...for the cost of a new one. Of course I laughed at them...and eventually they offered about 20% discount. No thanks.

Perfect match for my A6500. Love the colors and sharpness from this combo. I would recommend it highly.

Love this lens.
I am a serious amateur and I bought this for landscapes. Yesterday we were on the Dalton Road to the Arctic Circle shooting a bridge. I was able to take in the entire bridge and gorge. The other photographer's had to settle for part of it. You cannot use this lens for a distant view.

Qualkified 5 star rating
I bought this lens for landscape shots this summer in the mountains. I can only give 4 stars, since I have just been "testing" it near the house.

Lens is a 5 - The filter vignettes
This lens is a must have for the APSC Alphas! Smooth, quiet, pretty sharp edge to edge and keeps your kit compact! Unfortunately the provided Circular Polarizer Filter Kit is unusable for photos between 12mm-10mm as it vignettes. For video the vignetting is cropped out. Pretty disappointed with B&H's choice of filter provided with this purchase.

Good little lens
This lens did not disappoint in the limited time I've had it. Light in weight & perfect for my A6500. Even the polarizer does not seem to vignette. I'd buy it again !

SUPER CARRY AROUND LENS
This is a great lens for my a6000. Being an architect, wide lenses come in handy and this one is a dandy. Many times my Nikon gear is too heavy.

Almost OK...but not for me
I was hoping this would be an APS-C size equivalent performer to my full-frame Sony Zeiss 16-35--but sadly it is not...at least the version I received. Most significantly, for me, it persuaded me that the super-wide zoom is something I really don't need...especially since I already have the larger one for circumstances where it is a must. I returned it and for the reason above did not seek a replacement. Mine had an unusual and an unacceptable ... Show More

Wide!
Was using the 16mm pancake with ultra-wide converter for Real Estate Photography, but wanted to upgrade. A little disappointed in the speed of the f4 doing bracketed photos, but the zoom and video aspects make up for that. It's pricey, but I believe it will be worth the investment. B&H is awesome!

Sharp wide lens
I used the 16mm pancake with the WA adaptor and the fisheye adaptor for years. Results were ok, but never amazing, always had to sharpen and tweak the RAW files. If you want the best image quality this lens is worth it, lens is very sharp!. Being able to run a filter and proper lens cap is a big deal as well over the WA adaptor, my lens was constantly smuged and got a lot of scratches on the outer coating. Also for some reason this lens gives a great "sunstar" at high apertures, another thing the conversion kits suck at.

A true landscape marvel
This is not the lens that stays on the camera, it is a great tool to fantastic composition; you need to work on it to get outstanding pictures; always in my bag, very easy to carry.

Good wide angle zoom
This is a really good lens for the price. I've been very satisfied with it. It's turned into one of my favorite lenses especially for the price. It's a very compact zoom as well. A lot smaller than full frame zooms in similar ranges, which makes this lens a great companion for an a6000 line camera. A little distortion when throughout the zoom range but not enough to bother me. I enjoy the lens for what it is and that distortion is part of it. It's a very nice wide angle companion lens.

Great buy
Everything they say about this lens is true. Very little distortion for such a wide angle lens, clear at the edges, perfect landscape and architectural lens. Love it for vloging. Best buy this year

Great wide angle lens
This is a great option for both photos and videos. Though there is only 8mm range for this zoom, it is quite a lot (more than I thought it would be). This is a great lens to accompany the 18-105 G / f4 lens too. Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is I think the cost is a little bit steep for an ultra wide.
