Very compact and lot of camera for the price
I did not believe that such a small sensor as 4.7 x 6.2 mm with 16 Mpixels (3456 by 4608) could be very good. The TS30 proved me wrong, or at least not entirely right. Out of the box, the camera can produce decent, if not great, photos at low ISO ratings. The big surprise was that post processing with a high pass filter using Photoshop or the sort can do wonders to improve the quality of the images, at least up to ISO 400. I was not prepared for ... Perfect for my daily needs
First, I'm very partial to the Lumix DMC-ZS series and own a 6 and a 10. I do a lot of outdoor projects, automotive work and the like. I use my P&S to document job progress in lieu of a written journal. Also, when disassembling anything I find it a great reference for reassembly. This camera really fits the bill for one I can use with much less caution than my others. Even if I exceed it's limitations, given the sale price, my only regret would... Show More

Surprising Little Camera
I bought this camera as a "fun" point and shoot. The quality of the still and video has been remarkable. On one outing recently, this was the only camera I had to video a surprise cannon shot exercise. Hand held (not even a monopod), the video had movement, but picture quality and audio (on a windy day) were surprisingly good. The link to this video ishttps://youtu.be/t1jwmXDtcf8. All of the cannon firing sequence and the stills were done with th... Show More

Good first impressions
I just got this today, charged it and tested a few shots. The camera is small, light, and thin, so very convenient. The sliding lock on the battery door isn't very convincing, I will add a strip of duck tape. First pics look good enough for me - indoor Auto, outdoor Auto, and outdoor panorama. This is a very inexpensive camera, rated dust-proof and very water-resistant. It's not an SLR- reviewers seem to want it all, cheap, waterproof, high-res, ... Show More

Compact and good battery
Ive owned a few waterproof Pentax Optio cameras, and thought Id try out this one. The good points are small size, light weight, and a good battery that doesnt seem to lose charge when not being used or register as being low in cooler temps (unlike my old W80). That said, it has a small sensor and everything written about the image quality is true: its a bit fuzzy around the edges and not the greatest in low light. Much like my W80, which I orig... Very good value for the price.
Of course this isn't a professional underwater camera, but for a hobbyist or vacationer on the water, it takes excellent quality photo and video, and has surprisingly good audio quality as well. I leave my expensive nikon at home and carry this one in my pocket and have been saltwater snorkeling several times. Never had a problem, and have been very happy with the images. One really impressive feature (that I do NOT recommend testing) is that if ... Show More

Ok inexpensive camera
I bought the camera to replace an Olympus tough guard Both my prior olympus' screens blew out between 3-5 years so I thought I'd try something new and less expensive I set the camera up to autofocus auto select mode I paddled 3 days at the okeefenokee swamp and took 387 photos The biggest complaint is there is no lens cover which means: pro it boots up way faster Cons water moisture on the lens causes blurry photos I seldom had this problem w... Great Travel Camera
Everything about the camera is great except two aspects. One is charging the battery. To charge it, you have to remove the battery from the camera. I can see this is a trade-off in that the small case does not need to accommodate a charger. Nonetheless, it is an inconvenience. The second is you can set it to take photos that are about 150k, which means great for email but nothing else, or 12+ megapixels, which is great for photos but not good for... Show More

A lot of bang for your buck
A pocket-able little camera with 5x optical zoom that can take a beating at this price? It's a no-brainer. To see the value in this camera, you need to set reasonable expectations. With cameras this small and in this budget, it will have a small sensor which, naturally, will not be able to shoot in super low light. But in well light conditions, it does a decent job. Even the iResolution with iZoom does a good job of extending that optical zoom fr... Show More

Great compact sports camera
This camera was a replacement for a Nikon Coolpix AW that needed repair twice and finally packed it in. The Panasonic Lumix is considerably less expensive, but performs as well or better. It goes in the pocket on trips and give respectable performance as a point and shoot. The panorama function, as well as some special setting like food, night building, night portrait, and underwater are easy to use and work very well. The limits of the zoom, no ... Show More

It's in My Pocket when the Other Cameras are not
Gosh, power in a little camera. Safe to take out in all weather, small enough to keep in a pocket when you are out. The small size is unobtrusive when in unfamiliar places and you don't want to flash a larger camera. Easy to control after a little practice. I handheld a video for my YouTube channel for a surprise story when I did not have any other camera with me. Quality is acceptable for the sensor and lens. Quick start up when the on button is... Clever little pocket camera!
OK, so the Lumix was offered over 5 years ago. But this meets MilSpec810 for shock & water. So, as a pocket camera, can anyone say that about their cell phone, and at $100? I can drop, get it wet while traveling. And FEW buttons and modes, so it is there for snapshots. The on'off button is deep in the body, so require thinking to turn on, therefore I doubt I will 'accidentally' hit it in my pocket. Also, no lens to screw/zoom out. That's done inside the body, so again, I won't break it like my previous camera when the lens cam out in my pants pocket, and jammed with gnashing gear sounds!

Intelligent Auto (IA) gives very good results & is easy
I have had mine for over a year & leave it on IA Intelligent Auto mode most of the time. This lets you zoom in nicely without losing much quality. The video is a little disappointing being only HD instead of full HD. The video is steadier but worse quality than I get with a S3 Galaxy. The photos about the same. Having the internal zoom means you don't have to worry about bumping the zoom lens. In bright conditions the photos look really excellent to me. It's not a fast camera of course & its burst mode is way worse than a smart phone. Overall I am very happy with it.

I wasn't really expecting much, for the price...
I only bought it for the occasional time at the swimming pool with my active (splashy) niece and nephew. Picture quality is less than my mid-price android phone. Also it's the first camera I've owned with the lens off-set, so have to be careful not to put my finger in front of it. Every time I turn the camera on, it gives an on-screen warning about making sure the battery lid is locked, to be waterproof. The directions to turn that message off, don't work. I haven't actually tried submerging it yet, I hope it is actually waterproof.

Nice camera at a great price
I bought this camera for kayak fishing, and it works the way I had hoped. My only complaint is that the mini USB port on the camera is slightly different from the universal ones on most USB cables, so only the cable that comes with the camera can be used. I misplaced the cable within a few days, and would have been unable to download photos except that my Nikon camera has the same port and uses the same cable, and I have that one permanently plugged into my computer. I would give it 5 stars if not for that USB connector.

Best all around in this price range
The TS30 produces high quality images, has a wider view than most, and is a perfect tough camera to throw in a pocket and go have fun outdoors. It has survived freezing temps, being dunked in the pool, and always shoots great pictures. No issues to be found, simple menus, easy to hand over to a kid even to shoot some video or stills on a trip. If i had to wish it would be for a optical viewfinder for bright days when you have to shade the screen to see your shot, but that would be a camera that costs much more!

Great compact, waterproof camera
I did a lot of research and was still hesitant when I purchased this camera. Just took it on a two week vacation and was so happy with the quality of photos and video. The camera is small - so it is convenient to carry around but still takes good quality images. I used the camera underwater in the ocean, in waterfalls, in the pool - it performed great in every setting. The videos were surprisingly good quality and even though the sound isn't the greatest, I was really happy. I would recommend this camera.

Not bad for what I paid.
The best and worst is its small size. Easy to carry, but hard to hold and work the controls. The surfaces are all hard and slick with little to grip on to. The images often look bad to awful on the cameras screen and then are surprisingly decent on the computer. For a tiny sensor, tiny camera it does ok and especially with a little help from post processing. Ive had it in the pool a couple of times and the results were better than I expected. Overall Im fairly happy with it for $$.$$.

Think twice!
So I read the reviews and it looked like people were happy. When they said the camera took great pics, they said they were at Sea World in a pool swimming with dolphins or something similar. If you are in a clear pool, go for this camera! If you are in a moving, living ocean, don't do it. The clarity on the pictures was awful - I've added the best of the bunch, since you can see it's starfishes, but every pic came out like this. Save yourself the money by learning from my mistake!!

Perfect for snorkeling
I purchased this camera for a trip to Belize. I used it both on land and in the water and found it to be a great little point and shoot. I am not a great photographer, I just like taking a lot of snap shots and every now and then finding a few that are good. The controls were easy to use and intuitive after years of using Canon Elph series cameras. The settings were similarly easy. B&H's website was easy to work and their shipping department got it to me in plenty of time.

life is a beach
Very smart and efficient menu navigation, fast to set up and it even has a manual mode, although it is all automatic...ratio of 16:9 for picture as well. The camera delivers the goods and for this price is a no brainer. In fast burst all the pictures were blurred, no luck. Maybe my bad. If this is an important feature for you probably need to spend a bit more money. Other that I'm happy with it and the quality of the pictures is really quite good.

Great, sturdy camera
I got this for my 11 year old son who does a lot of outdoor things with Boy Scouts. I have an older (fancier) Lumix as does his mom; love these cameras. This one is neat as a pin, very small (packable) and I like the waterproof/shock proof for a kid's electronic device. As always, B&H has great pricing and service (got it the next day at a very busy time of year for shipping). I wouldn't buy anything electronic anywhere else!

Above average, convenient pocket camera
Pretty good pics most of the time for this quality/price range. Its Achilles' heel? low light conditions (flash is so so) + video. Also, hit/miss results with the zoom. Love its size, generous wide angle flush lense (prefer it to extendable types), wished it had a door or cover. Playback constantly indexes when reviewing a card with hundreds of pics. For now a good enough substitute for my T-90.

Excellent little performer in and out of water
I had only one issue with this camera. Actually 2. Both could be attributed to the owner ME. Dut to placement of the lens I kept putting my finger over it when using it underwater - be careful. The other is. It does way to much. The full manual is 150+ pages and I only had a couple of days before vacation to familiarize myself with it. It took great pics, movies and never did leak - hurray!!!
