I'm using this stand for a fairly small synth. It's a light-duty stand however, I wouldn't trust it with anything heavier than small synths, or MIDI controllers, I'm not sure what the support rating actually is but I would not recommend using this stand to support something like a Fantom or Motif... However, that said, it was easy to assemble, and easy to use.
