Great Product

Aug 15, 2012

Have used a power mouse for years and needed to upgrade in order to get support for Lion. Has always been a great product. After downloading the app and making personalized adjustment to mouse could not be happier. The browser ring is a great addition.

fabulous trackball

Jul 11, 2012

I have always preferred trackballs over mice. This trackball is great. It is important to have a large ball. The ball moves smoothly. The scroll ring is a real plus, and it is very convenient.

Solved my carpel tunnel problem.

Jun 24, 2012

I was having Carpel Tunnel pain so I needed another track ball. This ball is very smooth except for the scroll ring which is kind of jerkey. You need to CALL customer service to get The New software for Vista. Takes a bit to get use to but workes great.

Horrible

May 29, 2012

I bought this mouse because Microsoft discontinued the trackball explorer with program specific buttons. This thing is BAD, I use it for autocad, sketchup, photoshop, etc. where you need program specific shortcuts. 1- this stupid mouse won't let you program enter as a button!?!? 2- you can't program different buttons for different programs, each time I change programs I need to reprogram the buttons. 3- WAY TOO BIG, this thing is about the most u... so far so good

Apr 23, 2012

I mainly use this product to cut video and audio interviews. I haven't yet customized the two upper clicks to my preferences; so far, it seems to me, that the mouse is more gentle on my right hand than what I had used before. (I'll see if I can learn to use it with my left hand as well.) I've had a simple (Microsoft) two-click mouse before this, with a scroll in the middle. The old scroll was faster, when going from bottom of a page to the top (on the web,) but other than that I'm enjoying this new device.

This trackball is fantastic. It has been really helpful in eliminating repetitive stress issues I've been having using a different trackball. I'd recommend it to anyone doing video or audio editing.

The Best Gets Better

Mar 1, 2012

I've used the Expert Mouse Pro in all our studios for years. I literally couldn't design or edit audio and film without it. Having used every input device imaginable I still don't understand why the trackball is such a minority product. Mice are deficient in so many ways to a trackball- and this trackball is even better than before. The new optical tracking is far beyond the previous Expert Pros in glide and feel and control. I was actually conce... Show More

Not bad

Feb 29, 2012

I was worried about all the software support problems that others had but everything worked right out of the box, without installing anything, on both Win7 and MacOS. Once you get some finger oil on the ball, it's ridiculously smooth. So A+ there. I wish it was a bit more ergonomic and wasn't shaped to flare your wrist up so much, so I deducted a star. I'll have to find some custom solution to solve this. Otherwise it's a great trackball.

Conventional mouses (mice?) are *

Jan 31, 2012

My first computer, in the mid-'90s, was a Mac PowerBook with a trackball, and I have been a trackball guy ever since; a conventional mouse, with all the motion it requires, seems * to me. I can't imagine anyone using a mouse once they've tried a trackball.I use this with my iMac. This latest Kensington is a little big and not quite as comfortable as the original Turbomouse, but it's OK in that respect, and the 4 buttons are great. I always use on... Show More

Great trackball.

Works great. The scroll wheel isn't quite as smooth as the first day, but still works pretty well. Ball works perfectly, buttons work great, ergonomics are much better than a mouse.

Great Mouse But Scroll Ring Not So Great

Dec 8, 2011

Just received my Expert Pro Mouse last night and love it except the scroll ring could have been built better in my opinion. It feels cheap and loose and does not feel accurate. The 4-button's are very convenient for browsing the web. I didn't get a chance to use it on other applications because when I woke up this morning the scroll ring no longer worked. B&H immediately sent me a UPS Label and RA number. I'm looking forward to trying the mouse on other applications and will continue my review

Nice Trackball

Nov 22, 2011

I purchased the Expert Mouse to replace my old Kensington TurboMouse 3.0. The TurboMouse used mechanical tracking and was worn out after more than two decades of use. I had previously purchased a Kensington Orbit Trackball and was unhappy with it due to the small trackball and the position in which it forced me to hold my hand due to the supposedly ergonomic (not in my opinion) shape of the device. The Expert Mouse is wonderful to use. Just like ... Show More

I love the extra buttons

Sep 20, 2011

No more pain using the Kensington Expert trackball. Before using this I had RSI when using a regular mouse and then horrible pain in the base of my thumb when using an ordinary thumb trackball. Now I mostly use the palm of my hand or multiple fingers to move the cursor. Beyond the right & left clicks, I use the other buttons (or combination of buttons) for double click, drag, copy and paste. There are a lot more choices. The only problem is the s... Show More

Still trying to decide

Sep 13, 2011

Just bought this mouse for audio editing. I upgraded from the smaller two button mouse. I have used it for a few days and I'm still trying to decide if I like it. I really love the extra buttons and scroll wheel. I'm unsure about the ergonomics. I have discomfort with any mouse, but I was hoping that the wrist pad would help. It has helped with some discomfort, but possibly cause others.

Great Equipment, Bad Software Support

Sep 12, 2011

The equipment itself is great for folks with disabilities that have trouble with holding a mouse still and/or double clicking, any type of precision issues with the hands. Unfortunately, we have Windows 7 64 bit and the software does not work. After MUCH struggling with internet solutions and no help from tech support (they said they'd call back, still waiting), we figured out that the only way to use it is to disable driver signature verification every time the computer is booted, and even then the four button settings don't work. So disappointing!

I am using the Kengsinton Expert Mouse every day. I am a contractor developing training materials in Powerpoint, and the trackball makes the movement of my cursor across my two monitors 'wicked fast!'. Plus, I used the free software to program two of the 4 buttons to open my photo-editing application and my web-browser. Now I can search for an image and edit it with just a few button clicks. It really has saved me a lot of time in the short period I've owned it!
