Drive of the future here now
This is a great companion external drive to my new ASUS Zenbook 15, which has Thunderbolt and USB 3.1. gen 2 ports. This drive connects either to the USB-3.1. gen 2 or Thunderbolt 3 ports and speed tested at around 460 to 500 MB/s. I transferred files from a 3.1. gen 2 card reader via Thunderbolt to the T5 via USB 3.1. gen 2 port and got 270MB/s transfer speed. I was actually able to edit 4K video using this drive as the footage source and render drive and it did very well! I look forward to when USB 3.1 gen 2 drives are as prevalent as USB 3.0 are now.

Blown away by convenience and speed!
I wonder how I lived without this beast of a hard drive. It's made my time machine backups on my mac so much faster. The small size is a joy.

Superfast SSD!
Speed checks on this device were just slightly slower than on my 1T drive, but SUPER, regardless. Look for sales!

great SSD solution
its a great solution for who ones have the blackmagic pocket 4k, its really lightweight, at least for now i dont have a cage but i could install with tape on the top of my camera or behind of my feelworld monitor, now i have a lot of storage to shot any project

An amazing tool
Ive been using the T5 with a Pocket 4K for a little over a month. Its been flawless. The ability to have 500GB available without having to change cards is a great feature for a documentary filmmaker. Admittedly I keep an SD card in the slot just in case I get an error message (which some have reported), but I shoot ProRes, not raw, and after accumulating well over four hours of footage thats never happened...

Great product!
Got this to use on video projects. I have been able to edit small 4K projects with no issues right off the drive. Zero complaints. Its small, lightweight and FAST! This is a great product, at a great price, delivered by a great company.

Samsung SSD
So far, so good. I use it as an external drive for backup on a Windows 10 desktop. Biggest advantage is reliability - I am tired of old style spindle drives failing and the risk, time, effort, and cost of dealing with a failure. The other advantage is size and weight - easy to take offsite or travel with. To me the higher expense is well worth it.

I screwed up
Was getting this to replace an older, slow Lexar that I use for my in home network (attached to router). After the purchase I learned that many routers don't support these newer SSD's and this is one of those. I found a use for it, but not the more productive use I envisioned. Great SSD, but make sure it's compatible for your intended use.

Nice and compact, I love it!
This is a very nice SSD. It comes with a couple of short cables (USB-C to USB-C and a USB-C to USB-A) so it's super simple to set up.

Great companion for Blackmagic
Fast, sturdy but light and very portable. Works seamlessly with my Blackmagic Design Pocket 4K. SmallRig sells a mount for it.

Very Quick! A Great Drive
I purchased this drive to keep my photography on rather than store on my computer. I only have 256 G hard drive in my computer. I have over 100 GB of photography. Very fast and dependable. Love it!

Fast performer, super light, fits in a pocket
The first one impressed me so I bought another, then another. Fast, reliable, and with encryption, they make a perfect backup drive for travel, also good for a fast bootable startup drive with computers having only a hard drive.

USB is the Weak Link
Fast in performance that's why I chose this. I own two of these and one has a loose USB connector where it causes the drive to disconnect from the camera. My second one feels like it's also about to fail. The USB connection is very fragile. CFast cards are expensive but for reliability CFast are much more dependable than this T5.

High Performance Back-Up
This drive, hardly larger than a credit card, delivers super fast back-up performance. Using two of these I was able to evacuate ahead of hurricane Dorian with every critical computer file in my system, all in a very small package. Also great for an offsite backup in your bank safety deposit box. Worth every penny!
