Completely overrated
This lens is under average in every quality. The image sharpness and bokeh are beyond subpar for the most basic macro images. The Panasonic 30mm and 45mm macro lenses are far, far better in every respect to this Olympus 60mm lens.

The Very Best...
This the very best Macro lens available for the M43 system. Bar None. That's primarily because there really isn't any other Macro lens of this focal length available. If there were, we could have a chat, but there isn't so here we go. A Tamron 90 would be an interesting option. In a vacuum, I'm really happy with the Olympus 60 mm Macro lens, but I wish there were more choices available. It's a great lens actually, I don't know why Panasonic o... Show More

What a little jewel!
Don't be put off about the size of this lens. Once you understand how it works, it is a pleasure to use.

Perfect device
I notice some reviewers are confused by the spring loaded instant 1:1 switch. Ignore them. The switch is not very useful, but no other macro lens has it. IOW no one needs it. It shouldn't be there. It's no prolem to ignore it :-) This is not only a macro but also solves the old prime lens dilemma of choosing between the 105 and 135 tele lenses. Why not just get a 120 and split the difference ? ! ? 105 vs 135 was the lenses for 35mm film users.... Show More

An excellent flat field lens
A very good lens for 1:1 photography. Light and bright, focuses quickly and accurately. Allows the use of the Photo stacking ability of some Olympus Cameras which can be very useful in close up or true macro photography. Good reach which allows a little extra distance from your subject. The focal length is equivalent to a 120mm lens on a full frame camera. This makes it a little easier for artificial lighting as well.

I cant say anything more than what has been written...
Great lens and I had high expectations based on years of feedback. High price and I held off buying until now. And, after my first use this lens proved what it could do. Ill enjoy shooting with this glass for a long time. I should have purchased this years ago...

Great little lens!
This is a really nice little macro/portrait lens. My wife and I are both MFT shooters and she recently started a jewelry business and was in need of images for her website. We tried extension tubes but they were pretty wonky in practice and the depth of field was incredibly shallow so it was very difficult to use. With this lens its so much easier to get great shots of varying sizes of jewelry from close ups of small items like earrings to large ... Show More

light and sharp
It is a great lens but it takes a little getting used to. The depth of field can be adjusted but with a shallow depth of field the bokeh effect is amazing. The lens is very sharp and since it weighs only about 6.5 ounces then it is easy to carry since a lens left home is useless

Getting close
Super light-weight and well built, with good light-gathering capability. A darker, softer image when looking through the viewfinder vis-a-vis my normal lenses, especially at non-macro ranges, and a little soft at the edges. Best from f/2.8 thru 5.6. Auto-focus all but useless at magnifications approaching 1:1, but manual focus is great with silky smooth focusing ring. Useful for some head-and-shoulders portrait work, too if ultimate image sharpness not essential.

Small and sharp!
I think this is a GREAT little lens! From both a video and a stills perspective, it works equally well in both situations. Its far more diminutive in size than I though it would be, and for me, thats welcome. I use this on a GH5S.

M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens on Pen-F
I am completely happy with this combo! Reasons for purchase: Lightweight, short telephoto, macro capable at a reasonable price - all for a daily travel kit fitting in a Billingham Leica bag. The optics are excellent! Easily fits Pen-F and delivers general photos plus macro. I added the Olympus hood which fits very well, retracts and extends perfectly! I have using/doing macro work for 30+ years and this lens is a joy to use & carry . . .loving MFT!

Excellent Macro lens. Equal or better than the Canon 100mm
When I first got the lens; I was doubtful. The lens is tiny. Results are as good as the Canon 100mm Macro I was using previously. An unexpected benefit is because of the size of the lens, It is very easy to use handheld. Optically excellent and very sharp.

an incredible addition to your Olympus macro setup!
This lens has helped me make a name for myself in the macro world. When used with the Focus Bracketing technology on the Pen-F or the EM5/EM1 Mark ii cameras, the result is outstanding. I utilize a few extension tubes by Kenko and/or the Raynox 150/250 add-on lenses and the results are just amazing! I will show you what the potential is with a few pictures. I set my camera to take 120 shots using the focus bracket mode with this lens, and then move those images to Helicon to produce these images!

Awesome Macro
I have used this for a week and can't take it off the camera. It has lovely bokeh. Tested it with my Sony 90mm macro and like the bokeh on this one better. The Sony is a tad sharper but you would never. know it after post editing. This is my go to close-up lens for sure

Much better than Nikon or Canon
I switched to Olympus and am so glad I did. One of the reasons I switched is I do a lot of macro photography, and this lens is better than the macro lenses I used previously on my Nikon and Canon DSLR systems. The images I am getting are amazing and enlargements, even poster sized, are excellent, sharp, and clear. The 75mm and pro lenses are also superb!

excellent lens for the price
Sharp images, great autofocus, 4/5 because you need to get really close to get good images for small objects like insects. You can use this camera for many other uses beyond macro with excellent results. The build quality feels plastic, but light and easy to carry as an extra lens in the bag.

Small but powerful
I purchased this for the length and the light weight. It amazingly sharp, a must have for Olympus shooters

inconsistant
I have taken about 200 photos with this lens. I find that the focus is slow or not existent . When the pis are in focus they are tack sharp. I may be biased since I am comparing the e-m 5 mkii to a nikon d500 with a nikkor 105 f2.8 macro lens. Not sure if this is a keeper.

A nice really small macro
This is the second one I have purchased so far it is the best native macro I have used on mu4/3. I do find the 1/1 feature pretty worthless I would prefer it locked and then I could move the tripod where I want it. Also makes a very nice medium telephoto/ portrait lens in a pinch.

Excellent macro lens taking full advantage of m43 system
Light, extremely sharp, lovely out of focus rendering, extremely useful focus range switch, accurate AF including the macro range, dust/weather sealed - what's not to like about this lens? Nothing. This lens is absolute gem. Oh, and it is IF design - the lens dimensions do not changes during focusing!

Awesome
Wow is the word for this lens ! Love the Macro features as well as a normal lens. The focus limiter makes this lens enjoyable to use. Love it.

LOVE this lens
I acquired this lens when I got my first micro 4/3 because I don't own a macro lens and thought I would give this one a try. Although it doesn't have the stabilization functionality, I've had some really nice results with it even at lower shutter speeds. The optics are such that the resulting images are surprisingly clean, and thus far this lens appears to be able to handle whatever I've thrown at it.
