This portable drive performs flawlessly. Used it on a MacBook Air and a MS Windows based system. The slot loading is a nice touch compared to the tray loading. I haven't found any problems so far. I was concerned that the single cable would not be adequate to power it on a laptop but my fears were unwarranted.

Works great, looks great
First, the background/caveats: 1) I purchased this Dec 08, 2014, not that long ago but enough time to read and burn both CDs and DVDs. So, no long term user experience. 2) I am running this connected to a 21 iMac purchased this year, running OS X 10.9.5. 3) The Rewriter is connected to a Mac USB 3.0 port through a 10-port hub- which LG's documentation advises not to do (normal operation is not guaranteed).
