Burned 1 disc. Worked. Seems very fragile. Baby it. It is noisy and slow but it burns DVDs which is more than I can say for my lame Apple Tech replaced DVD Superdrive. DVDs are tomorrows floppy disks, but I still like hard copies for now.

Slim , attractive, and unassuming
I must admit that I was skeptical about having to utilize an external device, as opposed to have my Superdrive within my Mac repaired.Many DVD writers on the market will not work if you have a computer that has an optical drive within, regardless of whether it is functional or not. Works on an iMac!
If you own an iMac or macbook that had an original cd/dvd, then you took the original cd/dvd out to upgrade the hard drive like I did, you will find the hard way that Apple crippled the Apple Superdrive so as not to work on such upgraded machines. Good value for product that works well
Purchased product to burn to burn CDRs after the optical drive began to fail on my old 2008 iMac desktop. This external burner represented a very reasonably priced alternative to having desktop computer taken in and repaired. Unit was perfectly compatible with iMac and seems to perform its functions well. The burner seems somewhat flimsily constructed and its long term durability remains to be determined, but so far I'm quite satisfied with this purchase.

Great portable external drive
Plugged into my MacBook using usb and that's it. Ripped a couple of CDs with no problem so far. The tray is a little thin, so must be careful when putting disc in.

Works just fine
use as an external drive for a MacAir, don't use it extensively, but as an inexpensive add-on for a notebook without a DVD drive it is fine. Not solid construction, but it works.

Flunked
I bought this months ago as a spare just in case my full size LG writer fails after about a year of use(I don't expect them to last more than a year and a half). DVD Burner For Computer With None
I got the GP65NB60 Portable USB External DVD Burner and Drive by LG, to supplement my new Computer that had no Optical Drive. I chose the LG for both it's Specs and Price. It was recognized immediately by my computer when I plugged it in. The Optical Drive Copied and read files Flawlessly. Noise was not a factor for me as long as the Hardware does what it is was designed to do. I would reccomend this Optical Drive to anyone who needs an Inexpensive External Optical Drive

Good buy
I enjoyed the slim silvery exterior. The DVD for now works just fine, but I have not explored to many functions. The purchase was sensible as I bought a laptop without internal DVD reader. I believe it also gives additional flexibility of using it on different units.

Compared to the Samsung device that I had, this is way more high quality and sophisticated. It is sleek and portable for my travels when I am hopping around the world. The gold color makes a statement. And I like how it connects to TV and replaces the need for a DVD player.

Perfect at a Low Price
With my new computer that did not have a CD/DVD drive and burner I needed to purchase one. There were many drives that were $79 or higher, which I thought was overpriced after searching the web for an alternative. Since I have an LG IPS monitor which I love, I decided to buy the LG drive. too early to say anything
Bought it for a possible future laptop/macbook, not used it yet. At first impression it seems quite fragile and very light, maybe they all are like that, externally it looks very good.
