LG GP65NB60 Portable USB External DVD Burner and Drive (Black)
No Hassle.
The device was ready to be used right out of the box. Did not have to install any software. It comes with a CD containing some software. Did not have to use it. And it is compatible with Windows 10. Great job in making a copy of a DVD (personal DVD). Light and small does not take much space.Will recommend it.

Perfect for computer and tv hook-up
I bought this to watch home movies on disks on my macbook pro (the newer version that doesn't have a disk drive). I didn't realize this product worked on tv's as well so now my roommate and I don't have to buy a DVD player! Super cheap (compared to others on the market) and works with a super clear picture!

OOPS had to return this.
I am sure this works fine. I returned it when I found out that my 2 in 1 with windows 10 would not play DVDs. Win 10 does not have a native DVD component. (AAARGH) Probably need an AP. It can be used for storage. p.s. I am not much of a win 10 user. My software and I are grounded in win 7.

Works just fine
I can watch a DVD on my laptop with no difficulty Burning a new DVD is problematic, but it may be user error since there are no clear instructions The price was right and I expect this drive to operate so long as it is handled gently The other reviews helped me in making this choice.

Works as advertised
Bought to use with a new 27 5K iMac also purchased from B & H. Less than half the price of the Apple Super Drive. Plugged in via USB and it worked flawlessly. Finish is slightly different than iMac but I don't leave out on desk when not in use. I am very satisfied with this product.

Works Great
I bought this drive when I decided to clean out all of my CDs and DVDs. I wanted to put everything on a hard drive. I ran this drive for hours on end over the course of three days, and the only problems I had were down to a few damaged CDs. The drive itself performed without issue.

Works great!
Bought this to avoid spending $80 on an Apple SuperDrive. It hooks up perfectly and plays DVDs with no problem. I ripped several audio CDs to iTunes and all went smoothly. It is built a bit flimsy, with a tray that pops out to insert the disc, but it works just fine for $30!

Great product
Compared to the Samsung device that I had, this is way more high quality and sophisticated. It is sleek and portable for my travels when I am hopping around the world. The gold color makes a statement. And I like how it connects to TV and replaces the need for a DVD player.

simple is sometimes good!
I got my LG GP65 a couple of weeks ago, and I am quite satisfied with it. I dont see where on my computer (iMac) it says it recognizes the device--but that hasnt stopped it from working just fine. My needs are simple, and so is the LG GP65. So count me a satisfied customer.

Works Like a Charm
I really missed the elimination of the built- in CD/DVD burner from the iMac. This little inexpensive accessory fixes that problem perfectly. I do hope that it proves to be durable too. It is very light and possible fragile. We shall see. In the meantime, I am very happy.

Exactly What I Needed ......
So many laptops no longer come equipped with a CD-ROM tray, which is so disappointing. This external drive was exactly what I needed for those instances where I need to play or burn a CD or DVD. The price was perfect for me and I am more than satisfied with this unit!

Good buy
I enjoyed the slim silvery exterior. The DVD for now works just fine, but I have not explored to many functions. The purchase was sensible as I bought a laptop without internal DVD reader. I believe it also gives additional flexibility of using it on different units.

works, but too much noise & vibration
Bought this for an iMac. This unit is fine for the occasional CD/DVD user, and the price was right, but be forewarned. I put the drive on a metal shelf, and found I had to put cushioning (I used bubble wrap) under it to reduce noise/vibration to an acceptable level.

For the price, it's quite superb.
Very light and compact, power sipper, means it only needs 1 USB cable to connect to a PC/MAC and draws enough power from there without the need of an additional USB cable or a separate power hub. Fast read/write speed. Comes with good included burning software.

Saved over fifty dollars with the LG product.
I was somewhat nervous about buying this product since I have a Mac. The customer representative assurred me it would be compatible. All I did is plug it into my laptop and it worked. Plus I saved over fifty dollars compared to the Apple price! Hurrah for B&H.

Worked little
The days of fewer discs are here. Out of warranty, after less than 20 reads, this thing just started failing. Cleaning didn't help. Some discs it would read, others not. All retail made discs, no home backups were even tested. No more LG burners for me!

External DVD Drive
The dvd drive arrived in 3 days. Even the snow and ice didn't stop the delivery from making the expected date. The dvd drive is light and all I had to do was plug it into my usb drive on the pc that didn't have a dvd drive and everything work fine.

Exactly as described
Works with my 2011 MacBook. I bought this because my factory installed optical drive stopped recognizing disks. Just plug into USB port and play. Very satisfied. 4 stars because it's a bit flimsy. But use on a hard secure surface and no problems.

Burned 1 disc. Worked. Seems very fragile. Baby it. It is noisy and slow but it burns DVDs which is more than I can say for my lame Apple Tech replaced DVD Superdrive. DVDs are tomorrows floppy disks, but I still like hard copies for now.

Does the Job
Does the job...copying my CDs to my internal drive. It's rather delicate, almost flimsy, CD drawer - feels like it may snap when handling it. Instructions are for Windows only, and sparse. Otherwise, it's doing the job I need it to do.

LG External DVD burner n player.
I got one of these from BnH at a very very decent price and it works just as good as my Apple one that I had a year ago and I mean just as good and operated the same, automatically. And the price was a huge huge difference from Apple.

iMac users don't buy!!!
No instructions for Mac user. The whole software and instructions are all geared for Windows. The 800 phone number mac users are to call for help, don't waste your time. Your computer will be out of date before they answer.

Slim & Easy to Setup on MacOS Mojave
I used this out of the box with a 2018 Mac Mini Core i5 without the need to drivers or any third party software. The write speed for CD-Rs seems fine via USB3-A connection. It would be nice to have a USB-C version.

My Apple external DVD Burner died after no more than two hours total time. A lot of money for the bitten apple. This GP65NS60 worked right out of the box, and now has more total time on it than my Apple player.
