Pretty.

Jul 19, 2017

I'm simple. I'm a gamer that loves movies. I had a 40in 4k that was from another place that ghosted very noticeably. This one is very crisp so far. The colors to my eyes are much better as well. Cons it's an ips so you have a bit of back light bleed and the blacks suffer for that a hair especially at the corners. The left and right edges also have a of inner wrapping that is odd but unless your looking at it you don't see. I'm very pleased so far. I've not played with any settings yet to see if I can reduce the backlight bleed door the contrast.

some problems with display port 1.2

Jul 17, 2017

Great picture, lots of HDMI ports, but unfortunately only one display port connector. Why would a computer monitor only have one display port connection? Furthermore, I had to disable display port 1.2 signaling or the monitor would constantly lose synch. Check and make sure there is a firmware update before purchase. Great picture, nice speakers, good remote. Good value for the money.

Great 43 4K monitor

Jun 29, 2017

This is a great 43 4k monitor. I mainly use this monitor for scientific paper reading and computer programming. Pros: - Awesome display quality for this price. I think it is the best 43 4K monitor in current generation. - Convenient remote for settings - USB-C support Cons: - Compare to other size display, such as ASUS PB278Q, the image quality is not that good. But this is very common issue in 43 4K monitors. - Mine has several dead pixels - At ... Show More

Product lives up to my great expectations

Jun 20, 2017

I bought this monitor for it's incredible connectivity options. I ended up buying a new video card and instead choosing to drive it at 4k resolution so that it would be easier to watch videos full screen and it would be easier to play computer games. I ended up buying a piece of software called Aquasnap which makes it easier to make use of 4k resolutions by letting you drag windows to all four corners to snap them into.

Glad my desk is big enough

Jun 19, 2017

I took a chance on this but feared the monitor might be too big for my desk. Turns out to work just fine because of the depth of my desk is just right to accommodate this huge monitor and at 3 foot away is the closest I would allow. Any closer and I would downsize. There are a few bothersome things that were mostly resolved in adjusting the setup screen, but the price is right and the quality is amazing. I use it to switch between my MacBook and ... Show More

Real-estate.

Jun 16, 2017

The screen is large enough to accommodate 4K resolution without the need to use any software scaling. As far as I can tell this is an sRGB monitor with some kind of fancy HDMI ULTRA Deep Color, which doesn't seem to make too much of a difference when used with a computer. After Effects seamed to have a drawing issue while using HDMI (Nvidia 1080) but was corrected when I changed to the Display Port. While the color doesn't compare to a wide gamut monitor, the price it on point and the LG 43UD79-B is well worth every penny.
