Inexpensive Upgrade from Built-in Mics
The Mic Cast by iRig is a huge improvement from built-in cell phone microphones. They work very well for us with iPhone, HTC, Motorola, and Huawei cell phones. Take advantage of voice recorders or professional codec transport applications for full quality improvements over regular voice call. Mic Cast is very sensitive and we found that adding a pop filter greatly improves the mic's performance. The Windtech 1200 series fits perfectly after trimming the filter a bit. Great cost effective solution to upgrade cell phone microphone quality.

Meh. Not great.
I played around with this for a few days, but I didn't really like it. It's basically a little condenser mic that plugs into your headphone jack. If you're in a pinch and need something slightly better than your standard iPhone mic, this might be good, but if you're just interviewing people, I wouldn't bother. It's nice that it has an extra jack so that you can monitor the audio live, but otherwise it was underwhelming.

Not what they'd have you believe
I does filter some background noise, however your own voice gets a little mumbled as well. It really does not work as iRig videos on youtube would have you believe. It can be useful but it is not really as magical as advertised.

Better recording
I boughg this to shoot some videos with my iphone 5, the first issue is the mic on iphone 5 is in the bottom not like iphone4 so not a great thing!! It does not extend the range for recording it just give a clearer recording

Does not record iPhone calls
It is just like a digital recorder & I could not get the apps to work. No support from IK Multimedia.
