You can find inexpensive usb microphones and headsets just about anywhere, but this item is worth the few extra dollars.When I installed this it didn't have audio quality better than the laptop's built-in mic, but then realized that I needed to upgrade the software for the laptop's audio board.Once I resolved the laptop issues, have had excellent reports on the audio quality on internet-based phone.A real keeper!!
