Well-priced and well-featured for what it is

Jul 6, 2018

As was pointed out to me by another reviewer elsewhere, this is not a large-diaphragm mic: it has the same size diaphragm (16mm) as the Behringer C-2 top address, small-diaphragm stereo pair. This is probably one reason why it does not use/include/require a shock-style mount. What it is, however, is probably the least expensive dual-diaphragm/multi-pattern, side-address mic that you will find. There is a trade-off in sound quality, of course, mai... Show More

So far a really good buy!

Apr 25, 2013

My lo-tech home recording studio has two different ways of getting it done -- an old but solid Fostex MR-8HD stand-alone digital recorder and a Tascam US-800 front end to my fairly powerful PC. So far I have just used the C-3 plugged into a Behringer mixer in front of the Fostex MR-8HD (much better control of quality and EQ than directly into the recorder). The recording quality is really amazing. I have used a CAD GXL-2200 and a AudioTechnica AT... Show More

Good for the price but noisy

Aug 5, 2017

I have one of these mics from 3 years now. I have to say that is a good quality mic, but is very noisy if you are recording vocals, voice-over or acoustic instruments. You should clean the recording in your DAW. The built quality is solid, good finishings and the carrying case is welcome as an extra. I also own a Rode NT1 and does not come with any carrying case like the C3. The sounds is always pleasant in the mid range, and I recommend to have ... Show More

One great multi-pattern mic!

Jun 11, 2009

I received this mic a few weeks ago and after using it on both male & female vocals, acoustic guitar & acoustic bass, mandolin and as a room mic I have to say that it performs FAR above it's price point. The mic has a decent warm sound, with just a hint of brittleness in the high end. The low end is pretty tight, not flabby at all. In Cardioid the mic has a great full sound, in Figure-8 it warms up a lot and works well in an M/S setup. In Omni it... Show More

Surprising

Dec 24, 2009

I didn't expect much from this little mike but ordered a pair on sale as backups/extras when I do location recording. It has proven to be surprisingly good, especially considering the price. There is certainly no other small-diaphragm (it is not a large diaphragm condenser, despite being side-address) multi-pattern microphone at anywhere near this price...and it sounds pretty good too. It would work, if need be, as a vocal mike (not much sibilanc... Show More

MIke brings out the tone... for real!

Nov 21, 2010

I am a Beginner with Guitar and Recording. Purchased digital recording mixer (Tascam DP-02) Epiphone Hummingbird Acoustic Guitar Recording thru the Behringer C-3 brought out incredible tone and depth. Now I only want to listen thru my headphones. Sounds incredible when it comes in thru these mic's. Brings out the bass. Slide sounds incredible thru the mics compared to just my ears. Get Two of these. Record with two mic's at once.

Crazy mic for the price!!

Mar 8, 2013

Behringer does a great job. I had a Vamp 2 and enjoyed that so I have become a fan of their products and price points. I am using it for recording in a small moble(RV) home studio, lol!! B & H's customer service is impecable! 3 different agents responded to a BO issue on another item and nothing got lost in the communications!! I will do more with them as my needs expand.

the best choice for starter

Aug 25, 2011

The noise reduction is very good and the mic response well to the any tiny changes of sounds and voices. It is not the best mic for sure but you can hardly find another one can compare to this with also the consideration of price.I suggest this great product to all amatuers who would like to have their own studio in their room.

Great vocal quaility and great price

Apr 15, 2010

I started out recording at home with a but my vocals ended up sounding really flat. So I knew that a condenser mic was the answer I was looking for. But the prices on most are extreme. The C-3 is beautifully crafted and sounds warm and full. Anyone needing a condenser mic for home recording should definitley make this purchase
