Amazing camera but with some issues
I'm an advanced amateur. I bought the RX100 III because I wanted a small form-factor camera that produces high quality images. I considered the Fuji x100s but it was too big to fit in my pocket and was limited to a single focal length. Great All Purpose Family Camera
Had a Canon Rebel for years that I loved. My son accidentally damaged it, so I needed a good replacement, without all of the bulk. I thought I would stick with a Canon point and shoot, but a professional photographer friend recommended this camera highly. I am so glad that she did. I love this camera! Easy to use and the quality of photos is amazing! Very small and light weight, perfect to bring along for great family photos. A bit pricey, but worth the extra $$.

I couldn't believe it...
I asked the kind gentleman at B&H for a point and shoot that would take great pictures inspite of my total ignorance of photography. My go-to camera was a Canon G-10. The man said: This is an expensive camera but it will do what you're asking for. Well, I couldn't believe it but this camera takes the most awesome pictures I have ver seen. Period. Just the best pictures I have ever seen. I use the camera taking trip pictures, macro of watches and pocket knives, and whatever I feel like photographing.

Excellent images for a pocket camera
My rating is based on comparing this camera to other pocket cameras that I have used. I have been looking for a small light camera that will produce the best possible images. So far this seems to qualify. It is small and light enough to be always available. The viewfinder eliminates the problem of trying to compose the an image when shooting in the bright sun. The fast lens promises to be very useful for taking photos in available light. I have only used it about a month, but so far I have been very satisfied with it.

Perfect Camera for everyday use
This is the perfect camera for a keen photographer who wishes to have a very good camera which is light and pocket able with him or her all the time. It may lack some of the features of full frame digital camera but it is so easy to take with you anywhere and takes some excellent pictures.

Pro-compact and Zeiss T*
We were missing a lot of shots because we didn't have a decent compact in hand and we decided to go for the Rx100M3 and we love it. This is definitely not a d800E but at this price point give the F1.8 and 20MB raw and awesome out of the camera JPGs, who could complain. Best 'point and shoot' ever
Read the manual to optimize your results. MANY modes of operation to choose from. NOT overly complicated but takes some time to familiarize yourself with proper settings for the myriad settings to best suit your particular choice for all conditions.

Better than expected
I did a lot of research before buying the Sony Cybershot DSC RX100 III. It's difficult to find anything but a glowing review for this camera. That said, it is even better than I expected. So far, So very good
We bought the Sony DSC RX 100 M3 based on a recommendation from a friend who is knowledgeable about digital cameras. We are about to go on a trip to the Far East and wanted a camera that could capture both large and small images with accuracy and clarity in a variety of light settings. We tested the camera on a family vacation and it produced great pictures--sharp and clear, in a variety of light settings and whether we were close or at a distance. It holds great promise for the images we hope to capture on our trip.

It's charming and cute
I have many cameras including Leica M 6 film camera but I sometimes, especially in travelling, need very compact to carry and for easy shot. It is great for this purpose and nice filming as well. Yes this is the right one for carrying and quality photos.

Nice, pocketable camera
Takes very nice photos and fits in a pants pocket. Would be better if the JPEG processing were toned down a bit. Software could also be a bit more user friendly, but, it's still really worth it to get this degree of image quality and versatility in such a small camera that travels so well. Very happy with it.

Having been on the trail of the most compact pro-sumer P&S camera for decades, I'm glad Sony upgraded their RX100 model. I was in the market for a replacement for my aging Panasonic GX-1 mirrorless camera. The Panasonic just wasn't performing well in low-light conditions and I was trying to find something a bit smaller, with a viewfinder and tiltable screen. the camera is outstanding. i sold my DSLR and put this in my pocket.what is shocking to me is the absolute lack of documentation and software support from SONY. I've owned a number of compact cameras, including the original RX100. I wasn't willing to hang on to that one because I didn't love the output (partially related to the lens) and the handling. Awesome camera!!
I was really hesitant buying this camera cause of the price. I wanted a point and shoot I could put in my pocket (depending on the pockets it's a tad big) for times I don't want to lug around my 6d. Great image quality, nice customizable controls and decent performance. The lens is fast and high quality, and the image stabilization works fine. Don't leave home without it.
This little gem goes with me everywhere, I take more pictures now and im loving it. The adjustable monitor gives me a lot of flexibility, allowing me to shoot from different angles without having to kneel on wet ground or having to look for something to stand on to get that higher vantage point. I feel very comfortable using this camera for street photography and scouting out areas that I might revisit at a later date.

Dead on Arrival
Really can't wait to turn this camera on but I have gone thru 2 out of the box that won't charge properly. As a previous owner of an RX II which is almost identical I know how it's done. Looks like there must have been some problems with a production run and apparently others have had the same problem. I'm hoping the 3rd camera being sent to replace the defective ones will work.
