Awesome mic!
I bought mine 15 years ago, and, frankly, I've thrashed it. But build quality and sound quality are still beyond belief. I've read some rather poorly informed questions about this mic, and let me say; this is NOT a stereo mic. It is a MONO mic with ONE channel. It is the best directional mic I've ever seen. I was once doing an interview and a helicopter landed behind me about 100 yards away, and we just barely heard the chopper in the background.... Show More

Great mic for the money
I've used this mic on-camera and on a boom and I've been very happy with it--Very lightweight and sound quality rivals a MK 416. Not quite as full and rich, but as always, you get what you pay for. Great for inteviews. I like the price-point on the mic and it's efficiency. I also like the built-in phantom power--great battery life. Good, rugged build, nice directional coverage. On-camera with DSLR video, a huge step up from your basic Rode Videomic. Also works very well with the Zoom H4N. Hard not to like this mic--does it's job well.

Great Mic
I use this for shooting documentaries and it works great for interviews. I have good results even in loud ambient situations. On the downside: It does come with a price-tag but worth it. It's fairly long so mount it correctly. I've had to use electrical tape to keep it in place. Be careful at wide angle so it doesn't end up in shot.
